East Of England Agricultural Society

Breed: German Spitz (Klein)

East of England – Championship Show

7th July 2013

It was with a great deal of pleasure that I accepted the invitation to award my first set of Challenge Certificates at The East of England Agricultural Society Dog Show, which has long been a favourite of mine. I have been involved in the breed for over 20 years since my childhood and this was a very special appointment to me.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the East of England Society for inviting me to judge, and especially to the exhibitors who supported me by their attendance and in the sporting way in which they accepted my decisions.

German Spitz Klein

German Spitz Klein – Puppy Dog (1, 0)

1st Halligans Nardik Eclipse. 6 months old, at his first show, understandably a little unsettled. Correct head proportions, with correct shaped dark eye & neat ears. Good body shape and outline. Unsettled on the move but showing glimpses of what is to come.

German Spitz Klein – Post Grad Dog (2, 0)

1st Wrights Orion Shockwave. Pale cream with quality. In good coat. Correct wedge shaped head, correct eye & earset. Good front assembly with well laid shoulder. Moved well.

2nd Bennets Riccio Z Temnych Noci for Cyfelin (Imp). Another quality dog, with good head proportions, and overall balance. Not as settled on the move as 1, and perhaps like a lot of exhibits suffering a bit with the heat today. Preferred expression of 1.

German Spitz Klein – Limit Dog (4, 1)

1st Sermans Rochedo Bill The Badger By Tymy. B/W particolour, substantial male. Correct wedge shaped head with dark oval eyes and good pigment. Well set neat ears. Good tail carriage, would prefer slightly more layback of shoulder. Moved with purpose.

2nd Cooks Goldritz Stole the Sun. Cream in full coat and presented in good condition. Very good movement however lacked a little drive today. Preferred head shape of 1.

3rd Halligans Nardik New Moon at Icabel JW SHCM.

German Spitz Klein – Open Dog (6, 0)

1st Pearce & Francis. CH Longsdale’s Willie Win JW. Pale cream presented in excellent condition. Correct wedge shaped head with dark oval eyes and black pigment. Would prefer closer earset. Good tail carriage, well boned, straight front with adequate layback of shoulder. Moved with purpose & handled to advantage. DCC

2nd Wrights CH Minigardens Emil Lovely Boy (Imp) White dog presented in good condition again with correct wedge shaped head, good eyes and dark pigment. Preferred the ears on this one, just lost out on movement today. RCC

3rd Bradburys CH Wychlea Rhonday Vooh

German Spitz Klein – Puppy Bitch (3, 0)

1st Tullis Radajasa Double Agent Nyx. White bitch presented in good coat & condition. Correct wedge shaped head with dark oval eyes and black pigment. Small neat ears, well set. Lovely bone for size. Moved well. Best Puppy in Breed

2nd Shreeves Kartmel Distant Breezer . Another bitch shown in good coat. Feminine head with well set ears. For me could do with more substance overall. Moved okay.

3rd Tonks Oberitz September Song

German Spitz Klein – Junior Bitch (2 ,0)

1st Andrews Runfold Diamond Lil Of Claran. Black bitch, petite, but completely in proportion, with a correct outline. Moved out well with purpose. Loved her head shape, correct eye and ear. Lacking in coat today.

2nd Averys Aveka’s Estrellita. B/W particolour. Well up to size. Good head proportions, correct eye and ear. Stood four square, and moved well.

German Spitz Klein – Post Grad Bitch (1 ,0)

1st Bradburys Wychlea Vixen in the Dark. Quality black bitch, with typical sweet expression. Correct wedge head, with good proportions, good ear set, and lovely dark oval eye. Good front assembly with adequate layback of shoulder, allowing movement with purpose, and good drive. Presented in good coat & condition. RCC

German Spitz Klein – Limit Bitch (1,0)

1st Delves Claran Pavlova. Cream bitch, balanced and standing 4 square. Good bone and condition. Losing coat but what she did have was of correct texture. Moved out well covering the ground. Sweet expression, which I feel would be enhanced by darker pigment.

German Spitz Klein – Open Bitch (3,0)

1st Pearce & Francis CH Longsdale’s Jen You Win JW SHCM. A top drawer bitch. Presented in excellent condition, in full coat of correct texture. Beautiful wedge shaped head, with lovely dark pigment, giving a gentle expression. Good well set neat ears. A substantial bitch, with proportionate bone, yet still entirely feminine. Very balanced in stance. Moved out with purpose and drive, covering the ground well. Handled to advantage. Wholly deserved the BCC & BOB. Was delighted to see her shortlisted in the Group.

2nd Chambers Printzagems Viva La Diva for Musique. Another good bitch presented in good coat & condition. Very good head proportions. Unfortunately, lost out today on movement.
