Golden Retrievers – Judge Lesley Layland (Applecote)

What a lovely entry, I was particularly impressed with the Post Graduate and Open classes as there were some lovely dogs to go over. Movement played a roll in placing the dogs accordingly, on another day and another surface my places may well have been different.

Puppy 8 (2abs)

1st Skinner’s Catcombe Cent By Cherubs

A very nice puppy that shows lots of promise. Pretty feminine head with lovely dark pigment, good length of neck into nice lay of shoulder with correct length of upper arm. Nicely boned, straight forelegs with good feet. Good depth of chest and short coupled body with good rear angulation and hocks well let down. Once settled into her stride she moved out well. Still very young but hope she grows on just a little to complete the picture. Delighted to award her BP.

2nd Ley’s Murprila Dakaria I’m The One

A tidy bitch of good size who has hit that inbetween stage. Lovely head with nice expression, dark eye with ears well set. Strong neck of good length with good shoulder assembly, forelegs straight placed on tight feet. Good depth of brisket and short loin with good rear angulation. Moved accurately keeping a lovely head and tail carriage. Just needs time to fill her frame. As always from this kennel well presented and handled.

1st Coles’ Rooksbury Fuzzy Felt

Immaculately presented in full dark gold coat, this bitch pushed hard for BOB. She easily stands out from the crowd with her beautiful balance, clean outline and overall ring presence.  Lovely feminine head with good dark pigment. Good reach of neck onto well laid shoulders. Forelegs parallel with good bone and neat feet. Good depth of chest and ribs well sprung. Lovely turn of stifle and straight hocks. Moved out from strong rear quarters showing her long reachy stride. With maturity should have a very bright future. RBOB

Nice sized bitch with a lovely balanced and pleasing head of good type, good eye shape and ears well set. Lengthy neck placed on well constructed shoulders, straight forelegs with ample bone and closely fitting elbows. Good depth to body with a nice turn of stifle. Keeping a level topline she moved out from well muscled quarters showing her lovely forward reach when in profile. Just needs a little more coat to finish.
