Samoyed
Thank you for a lovely entry - I thoroughly enjoyed my day. Overall I had some quality sammies to go over and was very happy with both my dog and bitch line ups. I was pleased to note some dogs with really harsh and weather proof coats and found this encouraging; I wonder whether it is related to what seems to be an increase in the number of dogs with biscuit shading.
I would like to thank my stewards for ensuring the ring was run smoothly – they did a terrific job. Good stewards are worth their weight in gold.
MPD: (4,1). 1. Kirkwood & Miles Vandreem Imperial Stark. Mature puppy with profuse coat, well presented; generous tail plume which was set well. Correct head and expression, good pigment, and neat ears. Nice length of neck and good leg to body ratio. Well angulated front and rear. Needs to broaden as he matures. Moved soundly. 2. Short’s Zakaytia Angel of Mine. Raw 6 mo baby who was having fun with his handler today. Pretty biscuit shaded ears. Head still developing. Good body shape and tailset and lovely plush jacket. Well made youngster with sufficient bone for size. Moved well when he settled to the task. 3. Walker’s Karmynski Silver Rogue.
PD: (2,1). 1. Page’s Taronakits Kall Me Kouki. 9 mo with a lot to say for himself! Attractive head with good neat ears and charming ear wisps. Presents a very balanced picture on the stand with nice length of neck, good topline, well set tail and a really lovely rear end. In good puppy coat and well presented. When settled moved very soundly with lovely foot placement. BPD.
JD: (2). 1. Price & Gates’ Rosskaja Russian Roulette. Liked his overall shape and soundness. Typical junior male, a little betwixt and between at the moment and would like to see him when he has matured fully. Not in full coat, but what he had was of very good harsh quality and he was well presented. Moved very soundly. 2. Smith’s Vandreem Imperial Fabien at Avarrasam. Lovely head on this young man with good flat skull. In profuse coat which was well presented. A little longer cast than 1. Movement was rather erratic today.
PGD: (9,5). Very pleasing class. 1. Winger’s Samarinds Shock Wave For Syanaria. This young man had it all for me today. Lovely typical Sammy head with neat ears, correct eye shape, sufficient breadth of skull and good dark pigment combining to convey both strength and softness of expression. Good arch of neck and lovely front and rear angulation and sufficient bone. Correct harsh coat, good tailset. Embodies the ‘moderate’ the standard calls for, with nothing overdone. Moved with drive maintaining his level topline – very sound. CC and BOB. Very pleased to see him shortlisted in the group. 2. Ashbourne’s Angelicus Sammie Sno It All. Slightly more compact in body than 1, this youngster has lovely masculine head and good ‘smile’. Liked his front angulation and overall balance. In good coat, well presented. Correct tailset; sufficient bone and good feet. Moved soundly. 3. Douglas’ Taronakits Krackerjack of Troystar
LD: (5,1). 1. Webb & Bates Annakareyna Sparkling Ice at Rosskaja. JW. Lovely masculine head with flat skull, neat ears and correct eye shape and colour. Good arch of neck and well angulated front and rear and nice length of leg. Coat coming in and of really good quality with harsh top coat, just needs a little more to complete the picture. Moved out well. 2. Collinson’s Taronakits Kenko With Norjack. Another quality dog, well balanced in outline with good angulation, good harsh coat. Good bone and feet. Moved very soundly. 3. Ballantine’s Whitespirit Dr Feelgood.
OD: (4,3). 1. Muncaster’s Ch Zeelukzak Iceman. Mature dog shown in lovely condition. Handsome lad with good head and expression, in good harsh coat and very sound. Unfortunately his head was somewhere else today. When not pacing he moved very well!
VD: (1). 1. O’Dwyer’s Ch Duckslake Majestic Spirit Over Kalinski. Lovely 9yo demonstrating the staying power of the Samoyed. Shown in lovely condition, fit and presented well. Handsome head, well constructed body, correct coat, good bone and lovely feet. Very sound on the move. RCC.
MPB: (3). 1. Kirkwood & Cameron’s Vandreem Imperial Selyse. Very pretty 9mo with a touch of glamour about her; very sweet expression. Shown in lovely coat, so well presented. Sound in body. Generous tail plume, which, when she decided to keep it still, completed a very attractive picture! Moved soundly. 2. Talman’s Zeelukzak Diamond Lady. 6mo baby having a lot of fun with her handler. While quite raw at the moment has all the essentials in place – good body shape, nice bone, good tailset, lovely plush puppy coat. When she has the right number of feet on the ground she moves very soundly. 3. Smaggasgale’s Zakaytia Guardian Angel.
PB: (5,2). 1. Adams & Muncaster’s Altunha Baltic Smile. 10mo. Loved her. Good head with lovely flat skull and good eye shape – and a look of mischief. Lovely length of neck, well angulated front and rear. In good coat. Pleasing outline and lovely to watch on the move. BP and shortlisted in the Puppy Group. 2. Smaggasgale’s Zakaytia Guardian Angel. Biscuit shaded puppy, 3rd in previous class. Still has a lot of maturing to do but well balanced outline and was neat on the move. 3. Turner’s Lilryecontye Fire And Ice.
JB: (3). 1. Jebson’s Vandreem Imperial Faberge From Briamanda. Pretty, feminine bitch of lovely make and shape. Coat of lovely pattern, presented well, but a little lacking in undergarments at the moment. Moved very soundly. 2. Mann’s Zeelukzak Diamond Star. Really liked this young lady with her attractive head, great plush coat and lovely proportions. Slightly more substantial in overall make up than 1. Not as tidy on the move today. 3. Smaggasgale’s Kakaytia Guardian Angel.
PGB: (13,3). Strong class with some lovely bitches. 1. O’Dwyer’s Kalinski Dushka Maia. Pretty bitch, balanced and good for size. Good eye shape and pigment and lovely neat ears. Doggrell-Francis & Doggrell’s Kalinski Royal Crystalenia of Wintersleigh.
LB: (13,2). Another strong class with some quality bitches. 1. Short’s Zeelukzak Ice’N Glorious At Zakaytia. Lovely balanced Sammy girl, shown in great condition with quality plush coat presented well. Looks a picture standing and is very sound on the move. 2. Medler’s Glynsam Snow Kitten At Roselaskia. Slightly smaller girl, but again showing lovely balance. Very pretty and feminine with just a hint of biscuit. Good bone for size, lovely coat pattern, nice length of body, good tailset. Moved out well. 3. Jeffery & Collier’s Elksam Beautiful Light Via Glynsam.
OB: (9,3). Close decision. 1. Allen & Bucknell’s Samoravich I’m Jessie ShCM. This bitch just filled me with joy. Most attractive head with lovely soft expression and a lurking sense of fun. Beautiful biscuit shaded coat covering a very nicely balanced body with good angulation, sufficient bone for size, a lovely tail plume that seldom stayed in one place, and the most glorious feet. Moved round the ring with drive. Absolutely lovely. Very pleased to award her the CC and to learn that this made her up – well deserved. 2. Craig, Scobell & Uspenski’s Multi Ch Smiling Snowball I’m Your Illusion (imp Est) Balt W14/Est W14/Fin JW12. Another cracking bitch, with the most attractive head, lovely eye shape, dark pigment and great ears. Good length of neck, lovely front and rear angulation, good bone and feet and lovely tail. Very slightly longer in body than 1 . Presents a lovely picture standing and a pleasure to watch on the move as she is so sound. RCC. 3. Collinson’s Ch Nikara Diamond Jubilee With Norjack.
VB: (3). 1. Young’s Kimeekasams Miss Chief. Lovely compact, beautifully biscuit-shaded 7yo with the most attractive head, great pigment. Quality coat well presented. Moved out soundly. 2. Morris’ Snowsapphire Cool Emerald. Pretty, very feminine 10yo who had left her coat at home, but showed her quality even in her state of ‘undress’. Very sound on the move. 3. Mochrie-Phillips’ Rosskaja Silver Comet Via Chameez.
GCB: (3,1). 1. Cross’ Tiksi Frosted Flame. Placed in the very competitive Limit class, very sound girl with good balanced outline, attractive head and shown in good fit condition. Moved out well. 2. Bostock’s Snowshe Summer Beauty. Lovely plush coat on this young lady who was a little reluctant on the day.
