Breed: Portuguese Water Dog

Portuguese Water Dogs. PD (1) 1. McGill’s Enter The Heaven Jamalle (IMP CZ). Exuberant, charming black puppy of 8 months with super temperament. Already presenting a reasonably well balanced, rectangular outline with quarters developing nicely. Still quite immature he needs to drop a little behind and fill out generally, but there is plenty to like and he has time. Pleasing head with good eye mounted on strong neck. Firm topline, correct croup and moderate tuck up. Long, strong hocks used on the move to advantage. Carried himself well on the move when settled. Best Puppy.

OD (4 1). 1. Reddin’s Ch. Rarjo For Your Eyes Only. Quality 5 year old black dog of good overall make and shape. Well proportioned head with strong, slightly tapering muzzle and excellent bite. Head is in balance with body and neck is short and strong. Nice width to body with good lay of shoulder and depth of brisket. Good coat, bone and round feet. Very well muscled behind with excellent hocks. Held his outline on the move and tracked true both coming and going. Very pleased to award him Best Dog. He pressed hard in the challenge for Best of Breed, but I felt he was not quite as well balanced as the winner today. 2 McGill's Winterkloud Hugo Boss. Appealing brown dog of almost 2 years put down in excellent condition and maturing well. Very well developed in body with outline enhanced by his profuse coat. Impressive head without being overdone and excellent expression. Nicely developed front and a firm topline. Purposeful and true movement from all angles. Scores in shoulder but I would like a little more hind angulation and he was rather short coupled for the desired rectangular outline. Nonetheless, he gave a good, showy account of himself and was close up to the winner. Reserve Best Dog. 3 Sword's Ch. Traclem Kind of Magic.

OB I liked both of these girls who although quite different were both of considerable merit. (3 1) 1 McGill's Winterkloud Mad Moments. Very balanced outline on this black girl who is just coming into her own at 3 years. Feminine but well proportioned head with dark eye and typical expression. Correct angulation fore and aft. Nicely covered with good strong loin and moderate tuck up. Good croup and tail set. On the move she excelled, displaying a light trot with great ease holding her topline and carried herself well. Best Bitch and Best of Breed. 2. Reddin’s Winterkloud Coco Chanel at Bregantia. Quality brown litter sister to Hugo Boss who appealed for strength without being overdone. Strong yet balanced headpiece with good strength of jaw and great expression. Good height to length ratio, very well muscled and in good coat. Not quite the fore or hind angulation of winner but reasonably well balanced. Strong, sound and easy mover holding her outline. Pressed the winner.
