My sincere thanks to the Club for the warm welcome and to each and every exhibitor for your outstanding sportsmanship from start to finish, it made for a very enjoyable experience for everyone. I have not exhibited a Rottweiler since the late 80’s and have not observed them closely at ringside for over a decade. My hat goes off to you for being such good custodians of this beautiful breed. I was faced with a wonderful collection of very sound, typey Rotts, which bodes well for the future. You are doing your mentors proud!

Handling has come such a long way in the 30 years I have known the Rottie breed ring, but please be very careful when placing fronts, there is a temptation to ‘A frame’ in order to get maximum ‘showy’ effect and the prosternum vanishes, which effects the balance of outline some judges seek!

1st - GOODBAN & DUNHILL’S – FANTASA JUST ACE IT WITH KELJAYGO

Smart young lad with a nice dry head of pleasing proportions and lovely expression, with dark eye, correct mouth, neat ears well placed. Strong arched neck leading to a nice sloping shoulder which is well laid back. Nice width of front propped up on good bone with tight feet. Strong back with very slight slope to the croup held up by a well angled rear which he used to great effect. Topline and underline in harmony. Great reach and drive displayed in side gait and very true coming and going for such a baby. A very well balanced and attractive outline, overall an exciting puppy. BPD

1st – WHARTON’S – FALKOR’S MYSTERY PUZZLE

Head developing nicely and of good proportions, nice expression, dark eye, correct mouth, ears placed nicely, strong neck flows into good shoulders. A nice width of front propped up on good bone and tight feet. Just needing to firm more in topline, but has plenty of time for that. Sound moving, well grown youngster with good reach and drive, clean coming and going away.

Head developing very nicely with correct proportions, nice expression, dark eye, correct mouth, ears set on nicely. Strong neck into a well laid back shoulder. Nice width of front, propped up by good bone and tight well knuckled feet. Strong back and correct croup, well angled rear. Underline harmonious with topline to create a well balanced outline. Great reach and drive, very clean coming and going away.

A very smart guy with a lovely headpiece of correct proportions, a dark eye of good shape and well filled underneath, neat well placed ears. Strong arched neck flowing into a nice sloping shoulder, which is well laid back. Nice width of front propped up on good bone with a slight incline to pastern and tight feet. Nice spring of rib and strong coupling, strong back with very slight slope to the croup held up by a well angled rear which he used to great effect. Topline and underline in harmony. Great reach and powerful drive displayed in side gait and very true coming and going. A real nice balance of outline, and always put himself foursquare without prompting and was in real good muscular condition, he made a very good account of himself in the challenge for BEST DOG, demanding the top spot and somehow managed to pull out even more stops when challenged by the BB to take BEST IN SHOW.

What a beautiful, sound, typy lady of grace this 9 year old is. A pleasure to run hands over this queen, every grey hair worn like a diamond from an admirer. Lovely head proportions, dark eye, correct in mouth and neatest of ears well set on to skull. Strong arched neck flowing into a well laid back shoulder assembly. Good width of front propped up on solid timber and tight feet. Strong back and slightest slope to croup, a well angled strong rear assembly powered her around this huge ring and she loved every single moment of it. BEST VETERAN

Another beautiful, sound, typy lady also 9 years old and concealing her years well. A pleasure to run hands over veterans in such wonderful condition, again, every grey hair worn like a diamond from an admirer. Good head proportions, dark eye, correct in mouth and neat ears well set on to skull. Strong arched neck into a well laid back shoulder assembly. Good width of front propped up with good bone and tight feet. Level back, a well angled strong rear, she loves every moment in the limelight.

Underline harmonious with topline to create a well balanced outline. Good reach and drive, very clean coming and going away. An attractive outline.

Correct reach and drive displayed in side gait and very true coming and going. She sets herself up squarely with good prosternum. A well balanced and attractive outline. In very good company she later pulled out all stops to take BEST BITCH
