North Of Scotland Toy Dog Society Sunday 6th November 2016

I would like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge at this super well run show. A big thank you to the ladies in the kitchen and my stewards who kept things running smoothly. Also to competitors for accepting my first Chi appointment and allowing me the opportunity of going over their lovely dogs.

Chihuahua (Long coat)

Special yearling (9,5)

1st :Silverstein’s, Keep On Rocking Secret Of Angels At Silverchi (Imp). 9 month old male. Nice head shape, dark round eyes and good ear placement. Strong level top line and good spring of rib. Good tail placement. Straight front and rear with good brisk movement. BP

2nd: Sangster’s, Kirlasidh Angel On Ice. 12 month old bitch. Nice apple dome head shape, with flaring ears placed well. Sweet expression with good eye, for me little long in back and will improve as she matures in body.

Graduate (7,5)

1st: Chaplin’s, Natimuk Lady Rowena. 3 year old bitch. Good head shape and eyes. Ears slightly lower set. Super topline and well barrelled rib. Well set tail. Could stand a bit straighter in front.

2nd: Sangster’s, Kirlasidh Angel On A Roll. 1 year old bitch. Good clean head. Straight front. Needs to mature in body, looking a little long at the moment. Good straight rear movement, but lacking confidence on the move today.

Open (6,5)

1st: Sangster’s ,Tidos Charlie He’s My Darling At Kirlasidh JW. 3 year old dog. A nicely matured dog. Good broad head, dark round eye set well apart. Good stop and clean mouth. Ears well set. Nice level top line and well barrelled rib, tail set well. Straight coming and going. BOB

Chihuahua (Smooth Coat)

Special Yearling (5,1)

1st: Black & Howie’s, Chinzaes Chocolate Bomb. 11 month old bitch. I really liked this little girl. A chocolate tri in lovely condition.Her coat shone and her attitude, said look at me. A sweet, clean head shape with good ear placement. Nice arch of neck and level top line and super tail set and carriage. She moved straight coming and going and holds herself together well on the move for a puppy. I will watch her progress with interest. BP

2nd: Johnstone’s, Muirfauld High Fashion For Cairnpapple. 18th month old dog with a broad apple dome skull with dark, round wide set eyes. Good ear placement and shape. Straight front, well bodied, level top line and good tail set. I would prefer more strength in back end.

Graduate (3,1)

1st: Silverstein’s, Misty Meadow’s Secret Passion At Silverchi ( Imp It). 9 month old bitch. This tan and white puppy has super balance of body shape for a youngster. Head shape good with good stop and eyes. Ears correct shape and well set. A good body, holding a straight top line and well set tail. Moved well.

2nd: Hinshelwood’s Sunny Beach Roberta Darling Carubochi (Imp LVA). 15 month old fawn bitch. Good head, wide eye set and clean mouth. Needs a little more confidence on presentation but sports a good body. When she settled on the move, she was straight coming and going.

Open (6,0)

1st: Boulcott’s, hughgra Mr Topsy Turvy At Ingerdorm. 16 month old cream dog. Broad super head with clean eye placement. Good stop and nice shaped ears, set well. Lovely arch of neck into a level top line and correct tail set, carried well in stance and on the move. He carried a good body with nice balance on straight front legs and tidy feet. Good rear angulation showed in his movement. Brisk and with attitude. BOB

2nd: Hughgra One Shining Moment. 4 year old bitch. It was close between this bitch and the first placed dog, I was told later she was his mother! She has passed her attributes on. The critique reads same as above. Nothing much to criticize, a lovely bitch well balanced and moves well. Her son just pipped her to the post on his “Look at me” attitude.
