Breed: Australian Terrier

Driffield Agricultural Society 2017

Australian Terrier.

 PD (1)

1. Ferris & Russell’s Wyeafon Percival. Promising blue and tan youngster. Nicely put together, giving a well-balanced outline. Pleasing masculine head, strong jaw and alert expression. Nice neck with slight arch and well laid shoulders, level topline and good tail set. Coat and furnishing coming along nicely. Moved out well enough although finding the ground conditions rather interesting, I saw enough to see that he is sound and can move freely. Pleased to award him Best Puppy In Breed.

 LD (2,1abs)

1. Skelton’s Spitewinter Ooh Ah Henry. Quality red dog, with a masculine head, strong jaw and keen alert expression. Well laid shoulders, good ribbing, level top line, muscular well angulated hindquarters and well set on tail. I would like a little more length to his body. Shown in excellent coat and condition. Moved very well with forceful free flowing springy action and a keen showman too.

OD (2)

1. McCourt & Eardley, O’Reilly’s Ch Silhill Barney Rubble. Red dog who appeals for his typy well-balanced outline and pleasing length of body. Masculine head, good ears and hard bitten expression. Good length of neck which flow into well laid back shoulders, level topline and muscular well angulated hindquarters. Well-presented jacket. Comes into his own on the move, alert and on his toes showing a true terrier outlook. Had the edge today on movement, free flowing with drive from behind. Pleased to award him the Dog CC and BOB.

2. Stoddart’s Ir Ch Millvalley Shades Of Red. Initially thought this red dog was going to be my winner, liked his head very much, very masculine with hard bitten expression and good ear set. Good bone and substance, good neck with slight arch, well laid shoulders, good ribbing and level topline. Shown in hard fit condition and in super coat that is presented so well. He just didn’t have his mind on the job today and didn’t quite get his act together on the move. Shame as he’s a quality dog and deserves to be made up, had to settle for the Reserve Dog CC today.

PGB (1)

1. Bath’s Amberush It's Magic over Gingerwych. Very feminine blue and tan bitch. She is maturing nicely and is a pleasing size with a well-balanced typy outline. Attractive head and expression with well-placed ears, dark eyes and a strong jaw. Good front, neck and shoulders with a level topline and well angulated hindquarters. Just needs a bit more confidence and terrier attitude, but she is a lovely bitch and when something caught her attention, she has a keen alert expression.

OB (4,1abs) a good class.

1. Stoddart’s Millvalley Prima Donna. Mature blue and tan bitch, who has a really pleasing outline and well-balanced shape. Pleasing head, which is strong yet still feminine, the darkest of eyes giving a keen expression, strong jaw and excellent ear carriage. Good reach of neck flowing onto well laid shoulders, firm topline, good ribbing, well-muscled and angulated hindquarters and tail set on correctly. Shown in fit hard condition, she has good bone and substance and her jacket was put down in immaculate condition. Moved out very well, with a good stride and a springy action. Pleased to award her the Bitch BCC, her second apparently. In the challenge just felt she didn’t quite have the forward reach of the dog on the move.

2. McCourt’s Silhill the Sequel. Quality red bitch out of a slightly smaller mould than the winner, good length of body giving a typy outline. Pleasing head with dark eyes and a keen expression, although she wasn’t using her ears so well today. Good neck with slight arch, well laid shoulders and firm topline, well-muscled and angulated hindquarters with correct tail set. Presented in good coat and fit hard condition. Moved out with a good stride just not quite as tidy in front as the winner. Pleased to award her the Reserve BCC.

3. Skelton’s Ch Millvalley Blue Persimmon. Blue, a quality bitch, pleasing head and alert expression, super neck and well laid shoulders, good topline and tail set. Coat well presented and she moved out well. Just felt she was carrying a little too much body condition today.
