Firstly thank you to the committee and the officers of the club for the honour of judging at your show, a warm reception with wonderful hospitality, I had a great day with you all. Thanks must also go to the exhibitors for allowing me to go over their lovely dogs.


English Setters. G (2). 1, Stirk’s Mariglen Night and Day. A young girl of very good quality, lovely expression on a very well defined head, good neck into pleasing top line, good front and nice deep chest on one so young, very good rear angulation which gave definition to first and second thigh, coat in good condition, presented well, excellent on the move, upright, straight and true and full of drive, enjoying the day with tail awash. BOB, BPIB. 2, Hempsteads Flameview Flutterby. O (2).

1, Stirk’s Mariglen Perfect Day for Grakar ShCM. Another good to type girl with correct head, lean muscled neck leading into good top line, good front and well developed rib, steady rear of adequate proportions, making movement easy and effortless, coat in good condition. RBOB. 2, Hempsteads Twyline Tawny Skylark.


Irish Setters. P (4). 1, Prangle’s Heathclare American Dollar. A substantial boy of  well balanced proportions, good front and angulation with a deep rounded spring of rib, very good angulation to the rear with plenty of muscled first and second thigh,  correct top line to tail set, moved with drive and vigour, coat in very good condition, presented and handled well. BPIB and Puppy Group 2. 2, Hall’s Riverbrue Ophelia at Glennara. J (2). 1, Phillips’s Covarney Lil’Diva, Lovely young girl with good expression and kind eye, nice front and a well sprung rib, good rear angulation and well defined thigh, gentle sloping top line to good tail set, moved superbly on the strange surface, coat in good condition, her movement is what took the class over a very close 2nd. 2, Purves’s Astleyview Elegant I Am. G (3). 1, Hoskins Sandstream Just a Breeze. Substantial dog of good proportions, well balanced, correct head type with good eye full of expression, strong front and sound spring of rib, well muscled 1st and 2nd thighs giving good definition to the rear quarters, handled and presented exceptionally well to give the top line it’s gentle slope needed to give the dog a fabulous outline, all in all with his conformation his movement came easy, good drive and full on. BOB. 2, Rodda’s Teramour Lady in Red. O (4). 1, Prangle’s Heathclare Old Glory JW ShCM. A boy in good condition, of sound proportions and an overall balanced outline, lovely well shaped head through the muscled neck to a good lay of shoulder leading to a first class front structure with a sound spring of rib, good rear angulation setting the top line true with the gentle slope finishing in a good tail set, neat tight feet, moved with drive and purpose, straight and accurate. RBOB and RBOB Class winner, Very close call with the BOB. 2, Watertons Sandstream Welcome Breeze JW. Judge Graham Hart (Gilliegrae).
