I would like to thank the committee of the Working & Pastoral Breeds Association of Wales for giving me the opportunity to judge these three interesting breeds. I would also like to thank all the exhibitors who gave me the opportunity of going over their dogs. While I researched the breeds prior to judging (having only judged one of the three previously) I learnt a great deal and found the information available to me to be both comprehensive and informative, but it was on the day that I learnt the most. It was really refreshing to meet such a friendly and enthusiastic group of people who were not only prepared to entrust their pride and joys to a newcomer to their breed, they were also gracious with their placings and more than happy to enhance my education with their expert knowledge.

CATALAN SHEEPDOG

Junior (1 entry, 0 absent)

1st. Fieldsend & Theaker’s Tisalmyn Miss Moneypenny By Starwell. 13 month old bitch with a lovely head with a pleasing expression, correct eye shape and ear set. Level topline, held well. Excellent mover with a smooth gait. RBB.

Postgraduate (1 entry, 0 absent)

1st. Kitchen’s Sevarna Delightful Dilys. 2 year old bitch. Correct head with round eye and good ear set. Level topline, good croup and in good coat. Moved well.

1st. Theaker’s Int/Ir Ch Starwell Mistletoe At Tisalmyn. Very pretty 7 year old bitch with correct head and expression, round eye, triangular ear correctly set. Level topline with lightly sloping croup, strong hindquarters with double dewclaws. Good length to tail, set correctly. Moved with a smooth gait. BB, BoB. 2nd. Marr & Fieldsend’s Int/Ir Ch La Petit Rana’s Aikos Xenia At Kawanna CJ12 CW12. Handsome 7 year old dog with pleasing expression, correct eye shape and high set triangular ear. Level topline with slightly sloping croup. Double dewclaws. In good coat. Moved well. BD. 3rd. Kitchen’s Sevarna Catalonia’s Angel.

1st. Grant-Parkes’ Parabar Jim Bob Pumpkin. At just six months, a lovely, jolly boy with excellent head, almond-shaped dark eye and correct ear set. Plenty of bone, firm level topline and correct tail set. Smart free-moving gait. BD, BoB, BP.

Handsome dog with pleasing head and expression on good length of neck with good topline. Moved well when settled. RBD.

Gwilliam’s Norlyght Sebelas Of Amienko. 5 year old bitch with correct head and pleasing expression. Good length of neck, sound topline and croup. Moved well.
