Many thanks to L & P Collie Club for the invitation to judge the Smooth Collie classes at your Club show. Not a big entry by any means but some nice ones to go over and I was pleased to see my BV take BVIS under Smooth expert, Mrs Lister. Great hospitality, ring stewards and having the opportunity after my judging to sit and watch Rough bitches being judged, made for a perfect day.

PD (1) 1st Howard’s Jack Mack’s Via Buidhinn Of Shandlmain. A promising tri boy of 10 months. Well grown with correct bone and good body for his age. Lovely head piece developing, masculine and shapely. Excellent eye shape giving desired expression. Liked his height to length proportions and is moderately angled both ends. Free mover, just needs to tighten if front. In super coat and condition. Pleased to award him BPD, BP, BD & RBOB. Should have a good future.

VB (1) 1st Benton’s Ch. Alopex Marionette Of Oakestelle. Worthy Ch b/m. This breed ages so well and this 10 year old bitch proves this. Beautiful wedge-shaped head with correct stop and good under jaw. Excellent ear shape, tipped and well used. Good eye. Moderate neck leading to a well angled front. Good bone and feet. Perhaps a bit compact in overall outline. Good rear angulation. Low set and carried tail. Double coat of a good colour. Moved soundly in all directions. RBB, BV & BVIS. Congratulations!

PB (1) 1st Starkey’s Glencorrie Moon Thrush. B/m approaching 7 months and gave a good account of herself. Feminine but with good bone and substance. Head coming along well, good length and shape and a slight stop, well placed. Almond eye. Scissor bite. Ears to settle but well set. Good reach of neck. Nicely angled. Needs to firm-up in topline. Moved well with good freedom.

JB (1) 1st Benton’s Oakestelle Artemis. Feminie b/m. Pretty head and expression. Well set, tipped ears, used to advantage. Good reach of neck, lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Ok for proportions but would prefer a bit more bone. Good hind quarters. Well broken markings set on a clear blue background but would prefer less white. Excellent mover showing reach and drive.

G (1) 1st Benton’s & Bemelmn’s Oakestelle Asteria. Tri litter sister to Artemis and quite similar in many ways. Equally good for head proportions, correct stop and excellent ears. Dark eye. Good to go over on the stack. Moved very well from all directions. Low set and carried tail.

O (1) 1st Benton’s Oakestelle Venus De Milo. Ultra-feminine b/m built on finer lines. Beautiful head, good length, flat skull and a well placed, slight stop. Excellent tipped ears used to enhance her expression. Excellent reach and arch of neck. Good depth of chest for her size. Shapely outline. Short, muscular loins. Excellent quarters. Typical collie markings of ideal colour, well broken and a silvery blue background. Moved very well, particularly from side gait showing excellent reach. Pleased to award her BB & BOB.
