Judge: Mr Russell F. Jones (Quemerford)

Many thanks for the invitation to Judge at this well-run show. I had a good entry with some quality dogs present. Unfortunately, some exhibits found the floor surface challenging as there were some slippery places although most seemed to enjoy themselves. It was good to be inside the venue away from the outside chill. All exhibits were presented in a well-groomed clean condition. It was nice to speak to some of the exhibitors after judging, I appreciate that some were keen to travel home due to the weather. Once again thanks for coming it was a pleasure to go over your exhibits.

PYRENEAN MD (Replacement Judge): J (Dog or Bitch) (3,1) 1 Mrs C.A. Edwards, Shanlimore Raffalle: A 7mth of good type with a nice outline. She has a good skull for age, good eye, muzzle and bite, Nice length of neck with good shoulder, deep chest and good rear end. Pleased to award her BOB and BP. Also pleased to award her Puppy Grp 4. Well done. 2 Mrs. J.I. Veale, Shanlimore Luciana at Jojims: A 7mth old bitch, little sister to 1st, I liked her a lot, she needs to settle in the ring, that said she enjoyed herself. She has a fabulous friendly temperament and enjoyed the surroundings and I don’t blame her. Very promising.

ESTRELA MD: PG (Dog or Bitch) (2,1). 1 Mrs. K.L. Bailey, Bamcwt First Knight: A 21mth old dog that is a good type with a very nice outline. He is well grown with good head properties, correct roof of mouth, nice eyes and bite. Good length of neck, nice front assembly, deep chest and good bone. Nice neat feet and good top line. Nice rear assembly with good angles, neat hocks and correct tail. Moved out well.

O (Dog or Bitch) (3,0). 1 Bermingham, Kendrick & Almeida, Miss L.J., Mrs S.A., Mr. J. & Mrs. F., Multi. Ch. Odie Da Casa De Loas E Bamcwt (Imp Port): A 4.5yr old dog of good size and type with a good outline. He is very masculine and has a good deep colour. Good skull and dark eyes, good ear set, good stop and muzzle with a good dark mask. Correct roof of mouth and bite. Nice strong neck of good length into good lay back of shoulder and good angles to front with deep brisket, good bone and good feet. Good back end with neat tuck up with good angles and hocks. Tail of good length but would like to see a better J. Moved well front and back, with good side movement. Pleased to award him BOB and Pastoral Grp.1. Well done, loved him. 2 Bermingham, Kendrick & Almeida, Miss L.J., Mrs S.A., Mr. J. & Mrs. F., Rainha Da Casa De Loas Em Bamcwt (Imp Port): A 2.5yr old bitch that is very feminine and of good type with a good outline. Nice Skull, good dark eyes, nice stop, muzzle and a nice mask, correct roof of mouth with a nice bite. She has a good neck and front with plenty of bone, good back and a strong back end. I like to see a little more bend of stifle. Pity she came up against the 1st place as she is a nice girl that moved around the ring well. Pleased to award her R.BOB. 3 McKinlay & Johnson, Ms S. & Mr A. Milagre Got A Feeling at EstJak: A 5yr old girl that has a good out line and is of a nice type. She has a good roof of mouth and bite, is slightly shorter in muzzle and not quite as defined in stop as others, has a good mask and skull. Good length of neck, deep brisket, back could be better, but has a good rear. Carrying just a little more weight than she needs. Moved ok.

AVNSC Pastoral: Puppy (Dog or Bitch) (4,0). 1 Mrs H.M. Head, Kilvroch Mystikos for Millermead: Welsh Corgi (Cardigan) Brindle coloured bitch that was 7mth of age and is of a good type with a pleasing outline. She has a pleasing head with nice proportions for her age. Good neck, well made front assemble, good length to back and good angles to rear, neat hocks, and bushy tail. Moved out well for her age, keeping her top line on the move. Pleased to award her BP and P.Grp3, well done as this class had some really nice dogs in. 2 Veal, Miss K.D. Kass, Fosterbrie Venchi Star: Briard. A 6mth old fawn upstanding dog, well grown for age, with a pleasing outline and nice type. Pity he came up again the 1st could easily swap places on another day. He has a balanced skull for age, nice eyes and a good bite. Good length to neck and neat front, goo back and firm back end. Moved well around the ring. 3 Zbilut & Yacomen, Mr S. & Miss S. Starvon Déjà vu: Swedish Vallhund. A 9mth old bitch unlucky to meet 1 & 2 on the day. This plucky girl held her own, she is of a pleasing type with a good outline. Her movement is workman like which I liked. I would like to see her again in about 12mths time. Just needs to fill out a little more. Very promising. 4 Fuller, Mrs J.L. & Miss E.J. Ones Passionate Affair Della Terra Del Falco Among Jacanshe, (Imp Ita.): (Australian Shepherd) B.

J (Dog or Bitch) (4,1). 1 Randall, Mrs P. & Mr D. Xanova Secret Tulip: BSD (Groenendael). A 17mth old bitch of super type with a good outline. She is very feminine and oozes quality, she has a lovely feminine head with correct skull, eyes and bite. Good neck into well laid shoulders with plenty of bone and good brisket. Lovely top line which she holds on the move, good strong back end with good angles and neat hocks. Moved really well, although the handler needs to take longer strides. Pleased to award her Best AVNSC and later Grp2. Well done. 2 Mrs H.M. Head, Kilvroch Mystikos for Millermead: Welsh Corgi (Cardigan). As before 3 Fuller, Mrs J.L. & Miss E.J. Allmark Willy Wonka with Jacashe: Australian Shepherd. A 15mth old dog tri colour Australian Shepherd that is of a good type with a good outline. He makes a nice picture and is good to go over, unfortunately he was unsettled on the move, pity as this was a super class.

PG (Dog or Bitch) (2,1). 1 Henshaw & Garner, Mr A. & Mr M. Magikus Belatrix Black: Hungarian Puli. An 18mth old bitch who stood alone in this class. She is a very pleasing type with a good outline, that is cording up nicely. She has a good head and good eyes. Liked her neat neck and good body with nice front and rear. Moved well around the ring.

Open (Dog or Bitch) (1,0). 1 Knott, Mrs J. Lyveden Texas Ranger: Australian Shepherd. A 3yr old Merle coloured dog of a nice type with a nice outline. Handled the floor well, moved around the ring nicely. He has a masculine head, pleasing eye and good bite. His neck and overall conformation is good. 2 Keats, Mr D. & Mrs J. Corgold Night and Day at Hadassah: Welsh Corgi (Pembroke). A 2.5yr old Tri coloured bitch that handled the floor well. She is a pleasing type with a nice outline and nice features. 3 Simmons & Henson, Ms J. & Mr J. Infindigo Mailat Ulla, JW: Finnish Lapphund. A 2.5yr old bitch of good type with a good outline. Unfortunately, she was unable to handle the floor today. I really liked her as she has a really sweet head and was so feminine and nicely balanced throughout.  

PASTORAL GROUP Grp 1. Bermingham, Kendrick & Almeida, Miss L.J., Mrs S.A., Mr. J. & Mrs. F., Multi. Ch. Odie Da Casa De Loas E Bamcwt (Imp Port): (Estrella MD). Well done, loved him. (as previous). Grp 2. Randall, Mrs P. & Mr D. Xanova Secret Tulip: BSD (Groenendael). (as previous.) Grp 3. Dunn, Mrs R. Neraklee Chardonnay at Shelleary: (Shetland Sheepdog). A 3yr old Sable bitch of good type with a pleasing outline. A very feminine head and expression. Moved well around a good sized ring. Grp 4. Hodgson, Dr A., Obsession Aus Dem Elb-Urstromtal at Ragglebarn. An OES bitch just over 2yrs of age. She is of a good type with a pleasing outline, maturing up nicely. Coat coming through. Moved well.

PASTORAL PUPPY GROUP Grp 1. Robertson, Mrs. S. Hickorystix Keep the Faith: A 10mth old OES bitch of good size, really cobby with a good out line. She is of a nice type with plenty of bone. Won this group with plenty of confidence, handling the ring with ease. Well done. Grp 2. Haensel, Mr D. & Mrs Y. Sherkarl Majic Touch: An 9mth old male, Shetland Sheepdog, Sable & White colouring of good proportions. He is a pleasing type with a good outline. Moved well, very confident for his age. Grp 3. Head, Mrs. H.M., Kilyroch Mystikos for Millermead: Welsh Corgi (Cardigan). (as previous). Grp 4. Edwards, Mrs. C.A., Shanlimore Lorenzo: (Pyrenean M.D.). (as previous).

AVNSC Working: P (Dog or Bitch) (2,0). 1 Lyons, Ms. L. Bernegarden’s Jeanne D’arc at Snowfordhill, NAF,TAF: St. Bernard. A well grown 8mths old bitch that is very pleasing on the eye. Good type and good outline, enjoyed her day out, she was happy, curious and lively, it was a pleasure to meet her. Pleased to award her Best AVNSC Puppy Working.

J (Dog or Bitch) (3,1). 1 Bird & Head, Ms K. & Mrs H.M. Cullumbern Roman Toga with Millermead: A pretty 17mth old Bernese MD bitch of good type and good outline. She has a well-balanced head with a good feminine skull, correct eye and bite. Good neck and front which she used to her advantage on the move. Deep brisket, plenty of bone, good body and back. Lovely angles to rear and neat hocks. Moved out well. Pleased to award her Best AVNSC and Grp.3rd. 2 Burton, Mr R.C. Vodahond Against All Odds: A 16mth old Newfoundland dog of good size, a good type with a good outline. He is so full of himself he requires a strong hand to keep him under control. Exuberant and very happy, which shows in his movement. Nice to handle with a good head, good front, plenty of body and good rear.

O (Dog or Bitch) (3.1) 1 Lyons, Ms L. Penelope Van’t Hof Ten Eynder at Snowfordhill, TAF: A good sized 16mth old St. Bernard bitch, that has a pleasing outline and is of a nice type. She has a good head and front, pleasing back end and moved well on the slippery floor. 2 Burton, Mr R.C. Merrybear Freddie Mercury: A 4yr old Newfoundland dog of good size with a pleasing outline and pleasing type. A mature dog with presence, unfortunately let down today on his front movement.

WORKING GROUP Grp 1. John, Mrs C, & Mr M., Nyrakym’s All That Remains Samaljankan to Cristakell, (Imp. USA): A 14mth old Alaskan M dog of good size that is maturing nicely. He has a masculine head with good expression, good top line which he holds on the move, moves out with ease. Shown in super coat and condition. Grp 2. Tinker, Mrs K., Zaltana Heartbreaker Kid at Lolotea, (Imp. Pol): An 8mth old Siberian Husky dog of good type and good out line. He sailed around the ring with ease, should do well as he matures. Grp 3. Bird & Head, Ms K. & Mrs H.M., Cullumbern Roman Toga with Millermead: (Bernese MD.) Grp 4. Ingram, Mrs J.A. & Miss V.L., Jojavik Forget Me Not, JW, Sh.CM: An 18mth old Dobermann bitch of good type with a good out line. Handled well and moved nicely, would like to see her in a year’s time, should do well.

WORKING PUPPY GROUP Grp 1. Tinker, Mrs K., Zaltana Heartbreaker Kid at Lolotea, (Imp. Pol): Siberian Husky. Grp 2. Mycroft & Brown, Mrs S.M. & Mrs L., Supeta’s Backstabber: A 7mth old Dobermann dog of good type with a good outline. Really mature for age. Handled and moved well. Good topline. Grp 3. Watkins & Taylor, Mr T. & Mrs H. & Mr R. & Mrs D., Minaelea’s Busy Bee: An 8mth old Rottweiler bitch, well grown for age, nice type with a good out line. Very pleasing to go over. Moved well around the ring. Grp 4. Griffen & Grierson, Mr M. & Mrs B., Griffindane Athos: An 11mth old Gt Dane, male who was interested in everything going on around him. He was a pleasing lad of good size with a nice out line and is a nice type. I liked him.
