THE ALASKAN MALAMUTE CLUB OF THE UNITED KINGDOM Open Show

Held on: Thursday 26th August 2021 Judge: Mr Russell F. Jones (Quemerford) Alaskan Malamute (Bitches)

It was a great pleasure to be invited to judge at this Club Show. Dogs were judged by Mr Joe Smith and Bitches by myself. We both agreed to the Best in Show, Ms. S. Ellis, Ch. Chayo Formula One. A very upstanding dog that dominated the ring, he is well up to size and has massive bone and a very masculine head. Very strong neck and a very impressive top-line, strong backend with excellent angles. Moved out very well around the ring holding his top-line. He also won Best Veteran in Show.  

Congratulations. Mr I. Pullin & Miss K. Mountstephens, You Are The One of Kiyara’s Wolf Pak (Imp. Deu) was my choice for Best Bitch. The Referee was called for and she later won Res. Best in Show and Best Opposite Sex in Show, well done. I found all bitches to be in good condition and well presented. All had good mouths and nice eyes. Thank you to all for the entries today.

Minor Puppy Bitch (5,2), 1 Mrs. K.L. Jelfs, Lapena Bella Dannata: A sweet 7mth old girl that I liked very much. I liked her conformation and type for her age, she has good angles fore and aft and was excellent on the move. Handled well. I was pleased to award her Best Puppy Bitch, Res.Best Bitch and later she won Res. Best Puppy In Show. One to look out for. Well done.    2 Mr. J. Horsman & Mrs. J. Horsman-Phoenix, Nordicwinds Miss Marvel: Another 7mth old bitch of a nice type, not quite the angles of 1st, which reflected in her movement today, but overall, she was very nice to handle, should do well with time.    3 K.E. Copley-Holland, Katabatics Force of Won: Just 6mths of age that I liked a lot. Unfortunately, I could not go over her and she was all over the place on the move. What I did see was that she had a good out-line and excellent angles. Please get her sorted out and with time when she has settled bring her back out.

Puppy Bitch (3,1), 1 Mrs. K.L. Jelfs, Lapena Bella Dannata. As above.    2 Mr. J. Horsman & Mrs. J. Horsman-Phoenix, Nordicwinds Miss Marvel. As above.

Junior Bitch (1,1), Absent Post Grad. Bitch (7,3), 1 Miss. R.J. Brown, Cupuns Masterpiece: A 22mth old dark coloured bitch with a good out-line and of good type. She has plenty of bone and good angles. Moved out steadily around the ring. A very nice-looking bitch.    2 Mrs. S. & Miss. L. Perfitt, Samjoe The Good Witch: 19mths of age and of a good type, not quite the substance of 1st, but still makes a nice out-line. Her coat is very nice and she also moved out well.    3 Mr. I & Miss K. Pullin & Mountstephens, Snowshoes Made With Love to Whitewalker: A 22mth old that is a nice type with a nice out-line. I would have liked to see a little more of her. Moved out ok.    4 Mrs. S. Parker, Chayo Brightest Star at Daranash: A 19th old upstanding bitch that is just very happy. Needs to settle down little.

Limit Bitch (3,1), 1 Ms. G. Cameron, Sutarka Sala Delle Asse: A 2yr old that is of a nice type with plenty of substance and a nice out-line. I would have liked to see a little more to her angles. Moved out ok.    2 Mrs. S. & Miss. L. Perfitt, Samjoe The Dream Lives On (AI): A 4yr old that is overall of a nice type. Unfortunately, on the day she was not happy in the ring. I hope that she settles down.

Open Bitch (9,2), 1 Mr I. Pullin & Miss K. Mountstephens You Are The One of Kiyara’s Wolf Pak (Imp. Deu): A 5yr old bitch that caught my eye when she walked in the ring. She has a feminine head, excellent neck and is nicely balanced for her size. Good angles to front and rear and plenty of muscle. She is very well balanced and her movement was superb to watch. So smooth and easy, effortless, straight and true, keeping her top-line. For me she was an easy winner, pleased to award her Best Bitch, and later on the Referee’s decision Reserve Best In Show, many congratulations.    2 K.E. Copley-Holland, Am. Ch. Katabatics Hollaback Girl: Another 5yr old that was just a little bigger that 1st, she is of a nice type with a good out-line with lots to like about her. Just pipped by the movement of 1st today. A nice bitch.    3 Miss R.J. Brown, Skidooshoz Bohemian Soul of Capun (AI): A 4.6yr old that is well up on her legs, she is a good mover which earned her this place. Would have liked to see her with a little more substance.     4 Mrs. K.L. Jelfs, Lapena Tavola Ouija, Sh.CM. JW.

Special Veteran Bitch (7-9yrs) (4,2) 1 Mr. J. Horsman & Mrs. J. Horsman-Phoenix, Nordicwinds American Dream, JW, Sh.CM: A very nice 7.6yrs young bitch with plenty of type and a good out-line, she has plenty of substance and moved out well.    2 Mrs M. Butler, Kaytoo Antarctic Anko: At 9yrs of age this very pleasing girl was loving her day out.

Special Veteran Bitch (10yrs & Over) (1) 1 Miss A.J. Blaney, Ch/Ire Ch. Windberg Paparazzi Fenrirkin, Sh.CM, VW: At 11.6yrs this very feminine girl was in fine form. She is very nice to go over and of good type with a good out-line. On the day she moved around the ring like a youngster. I was more than happy to award her Best Veteran Bitch.

Dogs Special Open Import Dog (4,3) 1 Mrs. J. Pitcher, Red Flower Junior Del Biagio for Tatkresiwok (Imp. Ita.): A 22mth old brown dog that is well up to size and pleasing to go over. He stood alone in this class and needs to settle on the move. Just might have been where all the girls had been today.

Special Working Certified Dog (5,4) 1 Mrs M. Butler, Kaytoo Antarctic Kuma: A 9yr old dog that stood alone in this class. He is of a pleasing type and out-line. Moved well.
