Guildford & District Canine Society

Guildford & District Canine Society Open Show Sunday 28th November 2021

I was pleased with my overall entry at this well-run show, the committee worked really hard to make it very welcoming for all. My entries of dogs were all in clean condition and presented well, no bad mouths were found. My thanks to all the owners for entering and giving me the opportunity to judge their dogs.

Bracco Italiano

Junior (1, 0a)

1st Moore, Mr T, Gunsyn Gingerlicious from Dawbourne, 16mth old bitch giving an overall picture of strength and balance, head of good proportions with good length, eyes giving a lovely soft expression, correct ears, powerful neck with good width, correct shoulders, legs straight with oval bone, body correct giving an appearance of a square dog, moved a little erratic on the sandy floor although when together it was correct.  Best Of Breed

Graduate (2, 1a)

1st Moore, Mr T, Kenaiteen Orange Zest from Dawbourne, 3-year-old dog, head of good proportion, correct neck and shoulders, good front with correct bone, correct feet, overall appearance correct, slightly heavier in frame, did not settle today. Reserve Best of Breed

German Shorthaired Pointer

Puppy (5, 2a)

1st Dymond, Mr B, Quintana Diamond Dust at Friarsbelle, 6-month-old very promising puppy, clean correct head with soft eye, correct ears, moderate neck into correct shoulders with close blades, correct front with slightly sloping pasterns, very good chest for age, back short and firm correct tail set, rear developing well, moved very steady and effortlessly. Best Puppy

2nd Warrington, Mrs S.E. Zakova Aria, 7-month-old bitch good proportions to head, correct expression, clean moderate neck, front not as good as 1st, shoulders good, correct chest of good proportion, top line good with slight fall at croup, rear angles correct, did not settle well today.

3rd Scourfield, Mrs A, Relstraum Tott Wolfsburg

Junior, (2, 1a)

1st Eldin, Mrs S, A, Graygees Tsarine, solid liver bitch in good condition, head of correct type well proportioned, good pigment, clean slightly arched neck, correct shoulders with well laid-back elbows, correct bone on front although would like more slope in pasterns. Top line correct with good tail set, rear well-muscled with well bent stifles. Moved smoothly and effortlessly.

Post Graduate, (3, 1a)

1st Mewse, Mrs C & Mrs S, D. Allezweck Toccoa at Krimshar, 19-month-old dog in really good condition with that noble look about him, head of good proportion well developed lips and not too much, neck muscular with slight arch, sloping shoulders with plenty of muscle, deep chest and well sprung, correct bone on front top line level falling at croup to well-muscled rear, moved smoothly with good drive from rear.  Best Of Breed

2nd Elliot, Mrs L, Mr I & Mr F. Ankerwycke Silk Stockings, overall, a lovely bitch in good proportions feminine head with correct pigment, good ear set, neck long and arched, correct shoulders, chest of correct depth and spring, good bone all over, moved smoothly, not as well muscled as 1st.

1st Coe, Mrs N, Goosepoint Waddington at Abbanash (AI) JW, 3-year-old dog in very good condition, masculine head with correct eye, correct length of neck thickening towards shoulders, good angulation with close blades, elbows correct and front straight with slight slope on pasterns, top level falling towards tail, rear quarters correct and well-muscled, lovely compact feet, smooth gait with good reach, moved very well. Reserve Best of Breed

1st Challis Mr S & Mrs K M. Vizslanya Csibe 7-month-old bitch of good quality, correct head both in width and length, oval eye darker than coat, strong neck of good length into well laid shoulders, straight front with correct upright pasterns, level back with good chest development, ribs sprung, slight tuck up, rear with moderate angulation and development of muscle, moved gracefully with correct trot. 2nd Carter, Mrs DL, Facanvadasz Banu, head of correct type, eye correct shape and pigment, long clean neck into well laid shoulders, front straight with elbows close to body, pastern upright, short level back with moderate chest slightly more tuck up than 1, moderate rear angulation, moved well with handler.

1st Sutherland, Mr G & Mrs CA, Int Sh Ch/Bel Sh Ch Carnlochan Morning Star Lux Jn Ch bitch of excellent quality, correct head giving a lean and noble looking skull and muzzle in correct proportions, moderately long neck smooth and muscular, well laid-back shoulders, front straight with upright pasterns correct feet, chest has breadth and good depth and spring of rib, topline level into well-muscled croup, well-developed thighs with correct angulation, moved with a lively trot. Best Of Breed

2nd Sutherland, Mr G & Mrs CA, Carnlochan Sirocco, 7-year-old bitch in good condition head of correct proportion correct eye and pigmentation, clean moderate neck into good shoulder placement, straight front, elbows fitting well, level top line and nice tuck up, good rear angulation, moved well for age.

1st Metcalfe, Mr A & Mrs J, Baileydale Puff Daddy, 8 Month old boy in lovely condition caught my eye on entering the ring, short coupled and full of life, broad skull with correct proportions with well-developed nostrils, clean strong neck into correct shoulders, legs placed well under body and off good bone, chest good in width and depth, top line level and length correct, tail off top line and used to advantage, good rear quarters and correct feet, excellent coat condition, he moved freely true and straight.  Best Puppy

2nd Porter, Miss L M & Mrs P. Winnellands Dolly Daydream, yellow bitch of similar age to one, feminine head with good pigment, broad in skull with no coarseness, clean neck into good shoulders, correct straight front with legs well under body, good width to barrel chest, short coupled with good rear, tail used well on the move.

1st, Venturi Rose, Mrs J, Leospring East Indie, liver 14mth old bitch showing in good condition, head of correct type, a shade darker eye would complete the look, clean powerful neck into correct well laid-back shoulders, good front with straight well boned legs, good feet, level topline and good rear quarters excellent coat, moved out well

2nd, Hobby, Mr J & Mrs G, Icarus Call Me Madam, 30mth old yellow bitch, heavier than 1, correct head with lovely pigment and eye colour, muscular neck into well laid-back shoulders, legs well placed, level topline, barrel ribs of good depth, short coupled, would have preferred a slightly better turn of stifle, gave handler a hard time on the move.

1st, Metcalfe, Mr A & Mrs J, Baileydale Dizzy Miss Lizzy, my star of the day black 14mth old girl in very nice condition, kennel mate to best puppy, broad skull with defined stop very expressive dark eye, giving a very intelligent expression, powerful clean neck into correct well laid back shoulders, beautiful front construction, short coupled body with well sprung barrel ribs, topline level into otter tail used to perfection, coat of really good condition, moved freely covering the ground,  Best of Breed and Gundog G3

2nd Boulden Miss C, Honey Bean at Rumhill, liver bitch reaching her 6th year head of good proportions, good pigment, level bite in strong jaw, clean neck into correct shoulders, topline level with correct tail set, a shade on the heavier side for me, moved well with handler

1st Autey, Mr F & Mrs JM, Chadfrith Alcazaba, 5-year-old liver dog strongly built with best muscle of the day, head of lovely proportions, powerful neck into correct shoulders, good bone on front legs with good feet, good width and depth to chest, level top line, correct tail set, powerful rear well angulated, moved best in class.

2nd Hobby, Mr J & Mrs G, Icarus Jean Genie, 4-year-old yellow bitch good head proportions good pigment, powerful clean neck, good front with legs well under body. level topline, short coupled into strong rear quarters, moved well with handler.

1st Hazeltine & Crowther, Miss C & Mr D, Sh Ch Hundwith Chortle with Hookwood JW ShCM, SHCEx 4 year old bitch of lovely quality, a picture of what the appearance calls for, aristocratic head of equal lengths, correct eye and ears, scissor bite with correct lip colour, clean long neck into lovely shoulders, forelegs straight with arched padded toes, top line level with slope to croup, firm abdomen with slight tuck up, well developed rear quarters with well-turned stifle, moved effortlessly with handler with topline remaining level. Any Variety Veteran Stakes (38, 28a)

1st, Chessell, Mr B P, Araki Areu Ready for this at Stylaxian ShCM (Tibetan Terrier) this 8-year-old bitch was in stunning condition, head of medium length, strong muzzle, black nose, correct scissor bite, large brown eye, strong neck of medium length into well laid shoulders, straight and parallel legs, well-muscled compact body, tail carried in correct curl over body coat in excellent condition and presented beautifully, moved effortlessly showing good reach.

2nd Shahmatova Dr, Nashdom Unpredictable, (Border Collie) 10-year-old boy who did not look his age another presented in excellent condition very well balanced, with coat in really good condition, broad skull giving the alert look required, good length of neck with good broadening into shoulders, parallel front with correct feet, well sprung ribs and body of correct length to height, very well-muscled rear quarters, moved with ease keeping feet close to ground.
