Clumber Spaniel

First of all I would like to thank the exhibitors of the Clumber Spaniels for their entry. It was my last breed to judge during the day. I had 6 breeds in total during the day and they were the last ones to enter my ring and had a long wait. I was very pleased with the quality of the dogs and I was very sad to learn that the BOB didn´t make it to the Gundog Group as it was already being judged when I assessed the dogs in my ring, my apologies for that.

PGD (2,0) 1. Nicolson´s Clumbus Jolly Jumper, lovely well balanced male of excellent size with right proportions, large masculine square head with good length, deep stop, clean healthy eyes, well set ears, strong jaw, powerful neck, strong quarters, well sprung ribs and good length in body, large round feet, excellent rolling gait with good drive, lovely silky straight coat, he was without a doubt my Best Male.

2. Teslenko´s Brandy Aleksander White Roll, good sized male with correct proportions, square masculine head, excellent brows, good lips, clean healthy eyes, well shaped ears, strong muzzle, powerful neck, goodtopline and tailset, adequate frontassembly, strong hindquarters, good depth in body with correct length, correct movement for the breed but could be a bit more solid in front, a bit open in coat, he was my Reserve Best Male.

PGB (1,0): Stevenson´s Banshee White Roll, beautiful bitch who ticked all the boxes for the breed, excellent long shape and type without being overdone in any way, correct size and proportions, well shaped head of correct length, deep stop, very nice clean healthy eyes, vine leaf shaped ears, fairly long and powerful neck, solid topline with correct tailset, deep in body with excellent spring of ribs, lovely round large feet, correct rolling gait with effortless drive, beautiful coat of correct texture, I had no doubt in awarding her Best Bitch and BOB as my notes stated “love her”!

OB (1,0): Walkling´s Sh Ch Maursett Mycate at Kiswahili, very well made bitch with excellent size and proportions, large square head but could do with a longer muzzle and a more defined stop, her eyes could be cleaner, excellent shaped ears, ,strong neck and correct topline and tailset, lovely angulations both ends, deep in body with correct length without being overdone, lovely mover with correct rolling gait and good drive, not in the best coat on the day. She was my Reserve Best Bitch
