My thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge at their show, and also to the exhibitors for some real quality dogs. It was delightful to hear that my group winner went on to secure top honours of Best in Show. Thankfully the weather was kind also.

1st Miller, Ryan & Barnett, Miss K, Mr E & Mrs J. Feorlig Silly Billy A lovely ring presence, this kennel always produces top quality show dogs! Overall, a well-balanced and proportioned dog, with a cracking personality. Very pleasing head with lovely eyes and expressive ears – he will have a bright future no doubt. BOB

1st White, Miss. Crydera The Show Must Go on A very pretty young lady, who just oozed femininity! Everything was where it should be lovely head, dark eyes, and beautiful ears. Such a lovely package and just screams ‘pug’. One to watch for the future.

Junior

1st White, Miss. Crydera Bohemian Rhapsody Litter mate to previous class, another quality male here – with very much the similar attributes to his sister! Including that stereotypical attitude! Lovely depth of chest and square shape.

1st Saffer & Borg, Mrs G & Miss K. Ragemma Hot Potato Wow! What a lovely pug- lovely and short with large round head; nice eyes and good reach of neck leading into well placed shoulders. Lovely level topline which was held on the move.

1st Saffer, Mrs G Ragemma Upsy Daisy JW Oh, my goodness! What a stunner – a real showgirl and I knew as soon as she walked into the ring that this was something quite special. Just oozed that typical ‘pug’ attitude. So well balanced and proportioned, so much to like about her! She has the darkest of masks and button ears, and what a cracking little mover! Delighted to award her BOB and Grp 1. Over the moon that she went on to win top honours on the day. Definitely one with a bright future.

1st Fitzgerald, Mrs J. Cubadias I’m So Stunning (Havanese) This is a lovely lad, who I have judged before, is well balanced throughout with good proportions. A nice head with dark eyes – making a for a pleasing expression. In good coat for his age, level topline with the required slight rise over the loin. Moved round the ring with flare, Overall, a nice dog; one to watch Best of Breed and BP

2nd Patterson, Mr M C & Mrs M. Jamenei Enzo Ferrari at Fruindale (Löwchen)

Lots to like here – a little nervous on the table, but only a youngster, lovely shape. Just needs a little bit of time to mature and gain some confidence.

Lovely in profile, very well balanced, pleasing head and spring of rib. Moved well and held topline.

2nd Harris, Mrs L. Cotonclover Fiorangelo (Coton De Tulear). Another well balanced bitch of a nice size dark, expressive eyes and very pretty. Nicely arched loin and correct tail set.

1st Oliver, Ms G. Sarasuma Penny Lane (Maltese) A lovely package, lively and alert. Very well proportioned throughout, especially in the head. Good spring of rib, level topline and nicely angulated throughout. Eye catching presentation.

2nd Martin, Mrs S. Wizzizz Velvet Star at Talibee (Havanese) Handsome and lovely shape, good angulation throughout – moved well. Lots to like here; on the day, preferred the overall package of 1.

What a lovely lady, oozes femineity, very pretty indeed- correct head shape and definition of stop. Nicely angulated and put together- nothing over done here. Moved well for age. And in great condition – something this kennel always do.

2nd Bartlett, Ms L. Michadaine Crazy for You ShCm (Chinese Crested)

An excellent example of the breed, powderpuff. With the darkest of eyes, well balanced and proportioned and what an effortless mover! A really difficult decision between 1 and 2 – could so easily have been the other way round.

The quality from this kennel never disappoints me! He caught my eye on entering the ring, the loveliest of red colours – well proportioned and balanced throughout. Nice straight front and in excellent condition – moved exceptionally well. Definitely, I have no doubt that he has a bright future ahead of him – and expertly handled.

Unlucky to meet the winner today- lovely in profile, pleasing head and ear set, nicely feathered, and well balanced for a youngster- moved well considering the conditions today- and showed her heart out, very pretty young lady.

This lovely black and white bitch is a credit to her handler, she is exceptionally well balanced and what a mover! She does not disappoint here, moving free and with drive. She is of substantial proportions but still retains her subtle femininity. Correctly angulated throughout and held her topline on the move. A very pretty young lady, and a colourful career ahead, I think.

a type-y orange and white, nice shape and overall picture. Lots to like here – just needs to mature.

Answered all the questions correctly, a smart handler who had neat pattern work and a good rapport with their dog. Was aware of where I was all of the time.

2nd Sofia Beinarovica

Another smart handler, neat pattern work and maintained eye contact with me throughout. Sofia does need to revise her anatomy questions.

3rd Robyn Khan

12 – 16 years

1st Phoebe Toublic

A smart handler, who presented her dog nicely; just needed to pay a little bit more attention to detail. Neat pattern work and answered all questions correctly.

2nd Izzy King

I have judged Izzy before; she is a promising and confident handler, but this confidence needs to continue to grow as she is still a little nervous. Nice pattern work and a good eye for detail, it was a very close call today; she is almost on par for top spot.

Adult Handling

17 – 34 years

1st Laura Piper

Laura presented her dog nicely and looked smart, she answered all questions correctly and had lovely pattern work. A real pleasure to watch, she was fully aware of my whereabouts at all times and had an excellent rapport with her dog.

2nd Arjun Keshwala

Such a shame, this handler almost had the top spot- I think nerves got the best of him today- his patterns were ok, and it was clear that he was overthinking a few elements, but none the less, a handler with bags of potential. He maintained eye contact with me throughout.

35 – 54 years

1st Hailey McKnight

 A smart handler, who brimmed with confidence, she knew exactly what she was doing, had a good rapport with her dog; her patterns were neat and lines straight- she answered all questions with confidence.

2nd Dan Mann

Dan was well presented; this was a difficult choice between 1 and 2; he was confident and answered all questions confidently and ensured his patterns were neat and lines straight.

3rd Louise Duff

55 years plus

1st Theresa Stevens

Another confident handler, who showed her dog off to the best of her ability. She maintained eye contact with me throughout. She articulated answers to my questions well and her pattern work was neat.

2nd Kate Popple

A close call today for 1 and 2 – I have seen this handler before – her patterns were neat and lines smart, she answered my questions confidently and detailed. Just preferred the overall package of 1.

Nothing over done here, a very feminine lady. Clean shoulders, with matching up arm. Lovely shapely body and strong loin. Excellently balanced.

2nd Rose, Mr M F & Mrs D G. Whetu Magical Mayhem (Golden Retriever)

What a handsome chap, lovely gentle expression, typical for this breed; excellent pigmentation and well angulated front and rear- moved with drive which was nice to see. Shown in good condition and well-presented outline.
