Gundogs

I was delighted to be invited to judge the gundog group at this prestigious show. My thanks to the committee for this honour and also thank you to my stewards for working efficiently on this hot day. I was pleased that my group winner went RBIS and my veteran winner going BVIS,

12-Month-old, orange and white bitch who also needs to mature. Sculptured head with good chiselling under the eyes giving lean cheeks. soft expression with large oval eyes, good leathers reaching tom corner of the mouth, strong neck. Top line has typical dip behind the withers and top line rising=g to over the broad croup Straight forelegs with strong oval feet and moved out with a strong driving action. BOB

13 Month dog showing great potential. Deep head with broad skull and well-defined stop, dark eyes and lean cheeks. Broad nostrils, medium sized ears, good depth of flew, clean throat going onto long well laid shoulders. Deep chest and good length od back with wide loins. Flat bone forelegs and oval well arched t feet. Thick tapering tail good feathering and moved with fee long striding movement. BOB

2 Yr. old bitch of good q quality Feminine in appearance with soft expression, good length of neck with a nice arch to it. Deep brisket, moderate length of body and straight forelegs with flat bone. Lovely flat silky coat with fine feathering. Moved steadily. RBOB

 13 Month bitch with long lean head, oval skull and well-defined stop, strong muzzle, moderate sized ears with the required fold. Moderately long neck with no throatiness, straight top line, good feathering, chest yet to deepen, moderate hind angulation, good tail feathering and fairly flat coat which is silky to feel. RBOB

2 Corless’s Swiftlark Invincible

15 moth males with a masculine head, well laid shoulders and straight forelegs. Ribs well sprung with a well bent stifle. Did not move as well as 1 BP

 Classy 2 yr. old bitch with correct head carriage. Domed head, almond shaped eyes with fine low set ears, moderately deep muzzle. Deep chest and straight forelegs, good hind angulation Ribs well sprung. Well let down hocks, long muscular second thighs, straight hocks and small firm feet. Good feathering. Drove with a free-flowing stride BOB

2 Jarvis Lowden Too Darn Hot

3 yr. old male, handsome head with correct ear set. Almond shaped eyes, moderately long neck with clean lines. Level top line, tail set just below back level, stifles well bent, hocks low set and we’ll let down. Well feathered, moved effortlessly

14-Month-old very promising puppy with correct head proportions and slightly domed skull. Good Chiselling below the medium hazel eyes and vine shaped ears. Good top line and medium length forelegs with nice tight round feet. Good feathering on forelegs. Well set on tail, feathering needs to come. RBOB

 Mature liver bitch of correct curly coat. Correct head planes with open nostrils and strong jaws. medium sizes eyes, short neck and good angulation of shoulder and upper arm. Well-muscled quarters Tight round feet, moved with brisk movement and well handled by her junior handle to take BOB. And Group 4

12 Months old on the day, loved this puppy when I saw her when she was a baby. She has grown up as I had hoped. Rectangular shaped head with rise over eyes and moderate stop. Prominent occupit. well-muscled neck and good lay of shoulder almond shaped eyes. long ears. Fore chest deep and well developed and long broad ribcage and moderate tuck up. level top line strong fairly high set tail well arched feet. Moved out freely to take Best Import Register and BP and Puppy Group 1

Broad rounded skull with a moderate stop. Small ears, moderate length of neck with powerful shoulders. Straight forelegs and well sprung ribs Needs to come up on her legs yet, Coat short and thick with oily dense outer coat. Moved well Best NSC and Best NSC puppy.

8 Yr old orange and white bitch I have judged this bitch before and awarded her BOB. She is still in tip top condition and has retained all the qualities that I liked about her last time. She seems ageless and moves like a youngster. Could not deny her Best A gundog Veteran and was delighted that she went BVIS.

8 yr. old black and white girl built on flowing lines who is also still in her prime good lay of shoulder, correct slightly tapering tail which she lashes from side to side on the move. Unlucky to meet such a beautiful Spinone in this class

Lovely 6 yr. old bitch who should have been made up. So typical of her breeding. Loved her outline and fabulous front. Straight forelegs with good hind angulation. Level top line with correct tail set. Moved out well and unlucky to meet such a lovely retriever.
