Boxer
P (1): 1 Hawkins’ Mellhawk Tiger Lily, 6 months brindle & white, stacks up well already presenting a nice outline with smooth lines & square appearance. Pretty head with well developed stop & nice expression. She has good bone for size & is feminine with it. Just needs to get her co-ordination together on the move, this will come in time.
J (3): 1 BP, Hawkins’ Boese Bubbalicious at Mellhawk, 12 months feminine red & white bitch, presents a nice streamlined outline with slightly sloping topline, she is in lovely condition & feels nice to go over. Appealing head with balance to skull & muzzle, good strength through the forearms, tight feet. She is more together than 2 Kuech’s Boese Jiggerlardo, brindle & white boy - no disputing his gender – all male. Handsome head with good balance & correct stop, excellent depth of chest, nice forechest you can feel. He is muscled but at the same time has that puppy looseness & needs to strengthen through the rear pasterns which will improve with maturity; 3 Allen-Maher’s Invictadaw Raquel.
PG (4): Four exhibits and eight handlers! Well done to both stackers and runners, you all did a great job! 1 BOB, Wheeler’s Olibetay Bella Rose at Hipkins, I have judged this brindle & white bitch as a young puppy & have done well for her previously. She has matured well & is very anatomically sound & all legs face the correct direction. She stood out both standing & moving & had the best drive in side gait covering more ground. She is feminine but has strength with good bone, clean over the shoulders & topline with a good underline & strength through the loin, correctly angulated quarters. I was happy to find her again in good company; 2 RBOB, Weller’s Geenawell Really Fruity, I really liked this brindle & white boy, he is handsome & stacks up well but can be a bit of a fidget! Handsome head with well developed muzzle & lovely expression. Good strength of bone, correct depth of forechest, tight elbows, clean over the neck & shoulders, good hind angulation; 3 Mitchell’s Geenawell Dark N Delectable with Diceulon.
O (2): 1 Longley’s Attomic Mirror Man AI, mature & masculine red & white boy in good muscular condition throughout, correct square outline, good depth of brisket, tight elbows, correct ribbing, well-muscled angulated thighs. Would prefer him a little cleaner over the shoulders; 2 Wheeler’s Hipkins Devious Maid, feminine red & white bitch of nearly 6 years with good bone & correct body proportions. Good depth of brisket & good forechest. Not as positive on the move as 1.
English Setter
P (1) 1 BP, Deering’s Petti Fox of Rosetimber, elegant 11 months orange belton bitch, I thought she was such a lovely soul both in looks & personality. So anatomically sound & together for a youngster with great strength through the rear pasterns so was really positive going away & then going around had lovely head & neck extension. Pretty head with correct flews, clean neck into shoulders, good spring of rib. When she matures in body & coat will be hard to overlook.
J (1): 1 Beasley’s Wansleydale Mayflower, blue belton bitch, she stacks up lovely & presents a lovely elegant outline with good topline & angles fore & aft. Pretty head with good depth of flew without being too pendulous, & good layback of shoulder. She is still young but needs better strength through her rear pasterns which would improve her rear movement.
PG (3): 1 RBOB, Whittington’s Juldeane Line Of Duty AI, orange belton male – the stand out winner in this class with good topline, spring to the rib, bone & strong rear pasterns. He moved the best in the class with good strength through the rear & lovely head & neck extension; 2 Thacker’s Hartsett Vanity Fair, pretty headed orange belton bitch with good substance & bone & correct turn of stifle. I would prefer a better front assembly but her handler really makes the most of her; 3 Williams’ Richecca Midwinter.
O (1): 1 BOB, Beasley’s Wansleydale Amaretto, tricolour bitch, alone but very anatomically sound & presented in good condition. Pretty head, good bone, brisket down to elbow, nice forechest you can feel, level topline, good angulation, moved co-ordinately. Presents a pleasing picture both standing & moving & was happy to award her BOB.
Gordon Setter
P (2): 1 BP, O’Kelly & Hancock’s Caradilis Little Sparkler, litter siblings in 1 & 2. 1 slightly more together at this stage with level topline & well bent stifles. Appealing head, clean neck, well laid shoulders, correct body length with lovely sheen on the black of her coat; 2 O’Kelly & Hancock’s Caradilis Sparks Will Fly, better off for bone but going through her bum high stage at present & not as co-operative. Good depth of brisket, lovely substance, well laid shoulders, correct body length.
PG (2, 1 a): 1 Gunnery’s Longrow Love Of My Life AI, good level topline & depth of chest, correct bend of stifle, moved well. Would prefer a better transition of neck into shoulders.
O (2): 1 BOB, Horler’s Hernwood Jack O’Lantern by Rackens JW, two very nice males in this class. Male of 4 years, stately sort with good bone & substance, stands over his ground & has great presence. Stacks up lovely with a good topline, good depth of brisket, correct angulation fore & aft, strong through the rear pasterns, in good muscular & coat condition. Good steady mover, well handled. Delighted to see him win the Group; 2 RBOB, Tye’s Kyuna Olympic Arrow of Tymora ShCM VW, veteran male with good posture & presence. Presents an eye-catching outline with correct body ratios & level topline. Excellent depth, forechest & ribbing, strong through the thighs & rear pasterns. Free mover just a little heavy over the shoulders today.
Irish Setter
P (2): 1 BP, Howlett & Prowting’s Thendara Albatross, both these puppies appeal on the stack but 1 is more together on the move at present. Really appeals in outline, brisket down to elbow, good angulation fore & aft; 2 Maple’s Pollnac New Miracle, cheeky little minx with a glint in her eye but nice, all feet face forward, good topline. She stacks up lovely but crabbed on the move today.
PG (2): 1 BOB, Richardson’s Bluesprings Now I’m Here at Forestfire, real quality male, lovely neck into shoulders, good head with prominent occiput, appeals standing & moving with good topline, bone, substance, ribbing & angles; 2 Lake’s Pollnac New Miracle, nice boy too but carrying a little more weight over the shoulders so therefore not as clean over the neck & shoulders as 1. Appealing head, appealing head with prominent occiput, good topline & rear angles.
OD (1): 1 RBOB, Williamson’s Bluesprings Picture This JW, this dog stands himself which only comes from good posture where everything falls as it should. Appeals standing & moving, good depth of brisket, lovely topline, good angulation, moved well. Brother to BOB and sister to OB winner.
OB (1): 1 Williamson’s Bluesprings Sunday Girl, stacks up well – the handler is a great stacker & also very fit to do so much running with all the exhibits! Pretty head, good bone & substance, appeals standing but doesn’t have the neck extension of her brothers which is more evident on the move.
Flatcoated Retriever
O (1): 1 BOB, Hutchison’s Quills Mint Julep with Waverton AI (Imp), 6 year old black bitch, appeals in head with slight stop, good bone for size with strength through the forearms, good return of upperarm with balanced rear angulation & strength through the rear pasterns. Held her topline on the move.
Brian Hammond Memorial Stakes
AV Special Beginner (42) 1 Mennen & Sweeney’s black & white Pointer, Lundgarth Wild Yarrow, very anatomically sound, all feet face the correct direction. Clean neck into shoulders, strong through the forearms, well muscled through the loin & rear quarters. He is maturing steadily & needs to drop down into himself. Well handled; 2 Adam-Skomkowski’s brown Lhasa Apso, Kentwone Derek Jewel by Skylax, stylish boy, strong well arched neck, well laid shoulders, lovely forechest, correct body ratios, good mover; 3 Grimshaw’s Basset Hound, Malrich Hey Jude.
AV Open (21): 1 Angier & Stacey’s Border Collie, Bilyara Donatella Del Rivi Fioriti (Imp), looks lovely in outline holding a good topline, nice forechest, good depth of brisket & spring of rib, correct angulation. Moved well in side gait; 2 Watts’ brown Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Oakmarsh Freedom, very sound & well-proportioned in appearance, good forechest & depth, appealing head, well laid shoulders, good bone, substance & angulation, in good order with correct coat, moved well; 3 Burrage’s Cesky Terrier, Sametova Bacary.
