Kirkcaldy & District Canine Club

Thank you to the committee for my invitation to judge at this friendly, well run show. The sun shone bright for us, and everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time. Thank you to my steward Pete, who kept the ring moving efficiently. It was lovely to see so many exhibitors staying to watch the groups. And as an extra bonus, the homemade cakes were delicious!

1st Kelly Diamond & Ben Carruthers Kelcardi Rainbow Kisses. 18 month-old lemon and white bitch. Feminine head with an appealing expression. Well set ears, slightly domed skull and a well defined stop. Strong neck sits on to well laid shoulders, with a good depth of chest, firm elbows and a well ribbed back. Level top line which she held on the move. Free mover from all angles. 

2nd Anna Lang & Stuart Thompson Kelcardi Living the Dream 2 year-old tri bitch. Standing I thought would be my winner. Pretty head, good eye placement and clean throat. Strong arched neck, shoulders well laid back, straight forelegs and well knuckled feet. Top line straight and level, ribs well sprung and extending well back. Movement just needs to settle as she was a bit close behind.

Two lovely beagles - Very close decision.

1st Kelly Diamond & Ben Carruthers Jalhar Fame N Fortune from Kelcardi 2½ year-old tri colour male. Strong masculine boy, he has very good proportions and is nicely balanced. Soft expression, dark eye and a lovely domed skull, wide muzzle and well flewed lips. Neck is strong and of good length, he has a correct front assembly with a good depth of chest and well muscled rear. Super round bone and tight firm feet. Lovely profile movement. BOB & HG3

2nd Ms H Deans Gempeni Cornflower Coming up to three years old, this tri-colored bitch has a lot to like. Lovely type and balance and a clean outline. Feminine head with a soft expression, strong underjaw and correct dentition. Her arched neck flows smoothly into well placed shoulders, straight back and sturdy tail of correct length. Well bent stifles and low firm hocks. Moved freely holding her top line.

1st Donna Hanlon Ranfurley Prince over Achnagonlan 5 year-old male. Balanced both fore and aft. Masculine head of good proportions, correct length of muzzle and strong jaw. His long muscular neck fits smoothly into well placed shoulders, deep chest with plenty of infill and a well ribbed back. His rear consists of muscular thighs, a fair bend of stifle and strong low hocks. Coat rough and harsh. Presented in good condition, he moved with an easy and active gait. BOB & HG4

2nd Donna Hanlon Balnuith End of The Storm at Achnagonlan 20 month old male. Still very much a raw boy, developing as he should. Attractive masculine head with a kind eye, slightly large but well held ears and correct dentition. Strong muscular neck flows into reasonable shoulders, good depth of chest and a decent infill. Well ribbed back, strong loin and nice underline. Lovely harsh jacket. Moved with enthusiasm, enjoying his time in the ring. Pleasing side gait.

1st Claudia Willunat Shavano’s Quality of Life By Oliver JW (Imp Nor) 4 years-old red wheaten male of quality and substance. Super masculine head, dark pigment and dark eyes. Strong clean neck fits beautifully into well laid muscular shoulders. Correct length of upper arm with forelegs straight and strong, elbows close to body. Capacious chest with moderately well sprung ribs, broad muscular back and strong loin. Balanced hindquarters with low hocks. Coat sleek and glossy. Shown in super condition. Lovely in profile, moving free and active. BOB & HG2

2nd Mr J Muncie & Miss N Crossan Callmn’s Queen Bee of Mahanovemi. 20 month-old red wheaten bitch. Feminine head with kind dark eye, correct dentition and strength to jaw. Well laid shoulders with good dept of chest for age, back well ribbed. Hindquarters nicely muscled with fair turn of stifle and decent width to thighs. Moved well on the up and back.

1st Liana Phillips Vidana Amira S Berga Turi SHCM SHCEX (Imp Rus) This beautiful 6 year-old black and tan bitch caught my eye when she entered the ring. Classic in type and so well balanced throughout. Feminine head with dark eye, lovely pigment and a super ear set with silky fringes. Good length of neck that flows seamlessly into well laid shoulders, good depth of chest with enough infill, and well sprung ribs. She has a sweeping tuck up and correct rise over a well muscled loin. Rear quarters have good width and hocks are low set. Presented in super condition, with a smooth and silky coat. Moved effortlessly around the ring. BOB & HG1

2nd Anne Logie Merenptah Nazneen 17 month-old red bitch. Very raw. Feminine head, although a little long in the muzzle. Good length of neck fits gently into adequate shoulders, a little narrow in front at present which will hopefully fill out as she matures. Good length to ribbing though would prefer her to be carrying a tad more weight. Balanced rear angulation. A little unsettled today which was evident in her movement.

1st Pauline & Kenneth Leslie Windwalker Eddie Brock 9 month-old well grown white and brindle boy. I wouldn’t want him any bigger. Balanced fore and aft. Masculine well proportioned head with oval eyes and neat ears. Muscular well arched neck fits smoothly into well laid shoulders. Forearms straight with lovely bladed bone and oval well arched feet. Deep chest with sweeping tuck up and a broad well muscled back. Lovely profile movement. Considered him for BOB, just missing out on maturity. 

2nd Kirsten McDonald & Jennifer O Neill Windwalker Rimington Steel 9 month blue with white trim boy. Litter mate to first though not as well schooled. Good length of skull, strength to under jaw with correct dentition. Fair neck and correct front assembly. Good length to ribbing. Well off for bone. When he got himself together, he moved with an easy stride.

1st Mrs & Mrs Hunt Feorena Another Venture 4 year-old brindle bitch. Lovely curvy outline on the stack. Gentle expression with bright oval eyes and lovely rosed ears. Elegantly arched neck and good front assembly, straight forelegs and compact well knuckled feet. Lovely underline and gently arched top line with good tail set. Good rear with well bent stifles and width to second thigh. Stands better naturally, her young handler stood her too wide in rear which almost cost her the BOB. Moved steady around the ring. BOB

1st Mr L Bain & Mrs D Bain Clentry Rewrite the Stars 14 month old black and tan bitch. Compact and well muscled with enough ground clearance. She has the correct shape of head with lovely dark almond eyes and appealing expression. Good length of neck fits smoothly into a well made front assembly. She has a well developed pro sternum, correct length of ribbing to her back and a short, strong loin. Rear quarters are balanced. Good level top line that she held on the move, showing free flowing movement. BOB
