Bakewell Premier Open Show

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge at their premier show and the exhibitors for turning up on what was a very hot day, I had some quality exhibits amongst the different breeds that I judged.

Boxers

Puppy (1)

1st. Miss L Stirland’s Handsome Build Witham.

An 11 month old red male, head of good proportions, dark eye and the correct bite, nicely angulated front and rear, deep chest and ribbed well back. Showing clean lines, he needs to strengthen in the rear quarters but a promising youngster, moved a little erratically, BPIB.

Junior (2)

1st. Mr. P & Mrs. A F C Kay’s Miofrey Shooting Star.

A 13 month old brindle bitch, lovely feminine head, dark eyes, and the correct bite, arched strong neck and well laid shoulders, deep brisket, correct topline and well angulated stifles and low set hocks. A very promising young bitch and I was pleased to award her RBOB.

2nd. Mrs. B Reid’s Bonnies Best Boy.

A 12 month old red brindle male, he was a little unruly and a challenge for his handler, he has a strong masculine head, dark eyes and the correct bite, strong neck, and a deep chest with a well sprung ribcage, nicely angulated front, and rear quarters, he moved erratically which made it difficult to assess his movement.

1st. Mr. P & Mrs. A F C Kay’s Miofrey Shooting Star.

2nd. Miss. M A Littlewood’s Olleyville Jamesdean at Whirlobox.

A 5 year old brindle male, masculine throughout with a typical outline, head of the correct proportions, dark eyes, and the correct bite. Strong neck, I preferred the front quarters of the first placed bitch, deep brisket, well sprung ribcage, strong well angulated rear quarters, and correct feet, he moved soundly.

1st. Miss. M A Littlewood’s Olleyville Stanley Man at Whirlobox.

A 6 year old brindle male, showing the correct breed outline, being balanced without exaggeration, head masculine and well proportioned, dark eyes and the correct bite, strong muzzle, well angulated front, and rear quarters and this showed in his effortless movement showing reach and drive in profile when moving around the ring, BOB.

1st. Miss C Parsons Fenrirkin Out of The Black.

A 19 month old B/W bitch, correct head proportions, well set ears and dark eyes, strong neck, nicely angulated front, and rear quarters, an elegant and feminine bitch with a level back, she moved soundly, BOB.

1st. Mrs. J A Jones Anjaleo Coconut Ice To Bavaruki.

A 6 month old bitch, she is very balanced and in proportion, feminine but strong and well built throughout, head of the correct proportions, strong muzzle and the correct bite and dentition. Strong neck, well laid shoulders and upper arms, deep chest, and a well sprung ribcage, level back and well angulated rear quarters, coat in good condition, she moved very soundly showing reach and drive in profile, BPIB and third in the Working puppy Group.

2nd. Mrs. F Bothamley’s Haestalba King In Winter.

A 6 month old male, with a strong masculine head, dark eyes and the correct bite, Strong neck, well laid shoulders, deep brisket, and a level back, nicely angulated and well bent stifles, he moved soundly coming and going, looks a little raw at this stage and not as balanced as the first placed puppy but I am sure he has a promising future.

Junior (1)

1st. Mr. D & Mrs. C Iveson’s Onaway Dark Trumperter.

A 16 month old male, he seemed to be distracted by a scent on the ground and this made it very difficult for his handler, a masculine dog well boned and in proportion, head of the correct proportions, dark eyes, and the correct bite, I felt he was a little too heavy today, his movement was erratic making it difficult to assess.

1st. Mrs. F Bothamley’s Dencharris Zahavi Jet.

A 2 ½ year old male, showing a balanced outline, a strong head of the correct proportions, strong muzzle, and the correct bite, he has a strong neck, well laid shoulders and a deep brisket, ribs well sprung and carried well back, level back and nicely angulated rear quarters. He moved soundly showing reach and drive in profile, RBOB.

2nd. Mrs. L Wood’s Bavaruki Veba Vanilla.

A 4 year old bitch, feminine but well boned throughout, head of the correct proportions, strong muzzle, well laid shoulders, deep chest and well sprung ribcage, level back and nicely angulated stifle, her movement seemed laboured compared to the first placed dog.

1st. Mrs. D Read’s Lionscourt Prince Kuhio With Onaway.

A 2 ½ year old male, masculine and in proportion, correct size, head of the correct proportions, dark eyes and a strong muzzle, strong neck, well laid shoulders and upper arms, deep brisket and a well sprung ribcage, level back, strong well angulated rear quarters, his movement was sound and true, and he showed great reach and drive in profile, BOB, and 4th in the Working group.

1st. Miss D E Seward’s Elleonia No Matter What.

A 13 month old bitch, showing overall balance of outline, level back, nicely angulated front and rear quarters, head and muzzle of the correct proportions and ears well set, deep chest and ribs carried well back, strong loin, she moved effortlessly around the ring being sound and true, BOB.

1st. Mr. P Robinson’s Austmans Sea Breeze.

A Blue speckled and tan 2 ½ year old bitch, I believe this was a debut for the bitch and handler, apart from being reluctant to stand still and wanting to sit down she performed very well, showing a typical outline, head strong and of the correct proportions, dark eyes and the correct bite, strong neck, well laid shoulders and a deep chest, ribs carried well back, nicely angulated rear quarters and she moved steadily around the ring, BOB.

1st. Mrs. P A Byrne’s Aavuuta Qimmiq Akiak (IMP CAN) TAF (Canadian Eskimo Dog).

A dark grey/white, 6 month old male, very typical breed outline, balanced and in proportion, head and skull correct, strong muzzle and dark eyes with the correct bite. Strong neck, well laid shoulders, deep brisket, and a level back, correct tail carriage, well angulated rear quarters, and low set hocks, he moved very soundly coming and going and showed reach and drive in profile, I am sure he has a promising future, BP and Best AVNSC.

2nd. Mr. N Morgan’s Rimor Boadixiya (Great Dane).

An 8 month old bitch and another quality youngster, feminine, graceful, and well boned throughout, head of the correct proportions, well set ears and dark eyes, correct bite, impressive on the stand being balanced and in proportion, long well arched neck, well laid shoulders deep chest, ribs sprung and carried well back, well angulated rear quarters and low set hocks, she moved soundly and steadily around the ring, another youngster showing lots of promise.

1st. Ms. J M Lindley’s Legend I Am Canadian Beardog For Lindgreave (IMP CZE) (Newfoundland).

A 10 month old black male, showing a balanced outline, strong masculine head and substantial throughout, broad skull and a strong muzzle, dark eyes, and the correct bite. Strong neck, level topline, shoulders well laid back, correct bend of stifle, low set hocks, he moved with reach and drive, a promising youngster, Best AV working puppy.

1st. Miss. L & Mr. J Smith’s Newetta’s precious In Brown For Comfortcove (IMP DNK).

A 13 month old brown bitch, she has a typical breed outline being balanced and in proportion, feminine but strong throughout, she has a lovely feminine head with a broad skull and a strong muzzle, and dark eyes and the correct bite. Neck strong and well set on, well laid shoulders and a deep chest, well sprung ribcage and ribs carried well back. Level topline, strong rear quarters with well bent stifles and low set hocks, she moved soundly around the ring showing drive in profile.

2nd. Mrs. K & Mr. A Wedgbury’s Manzart Xtra Special (Dobermann).

A 13 month old B/T bitch, a very promising young bitch, showing a typical outline, feminine strong head and muzzle, dark eyes, and the correct bite. Neck lean and well set on, well laid shoulders, deep chest and a well sprung ribcage, ribs carried well back, back level and nicely angulated rear quarters, she moved soundly.

3rd. Mr. P & Mrs. A F C Kay’s Miofrey Shooting Star.

A 17 month old brown bitch, broad skull and a strong muzzle, dark eyes and the correct bite and dentition, powerful neck, well laid shoulders, deep brisket, well sprung ribcage, nicely angulated rear quarters, maturing nicely and I am sure she has a promising future, Best AV Working.

Working Group

1st. Supeta’s Diamond In The Sky, (Dobermann).

Very pleased that she went on to be awarded a well deserved RBIS at this prodigious 2 day event.

2nd. Liskarn Addicted To Love, (Bernese Mountain Dog).

3rd. Mrs. S Pallett’s Yulla For Sheenmarie Von Baywatch (IMP) JW (Newfoundland).
