Maghull & Merseyside Canine Society

Breed: CKCS, Bichon Frise

Thank you to the Committee of Maghull & Merseyside (4th December 2022) for an invite to Judge at this lovely local all-breed open show, which had a super atmosphere. Sincere thanks to the exhibitors for entering under me and accepting my decisions sportingly, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I was my first time judging the delightful Bichon Frise, whose charm, I find hard to resist.

Bichon Frise

Puppy: (1:1) 1st Hill’s DEIZI YABBA DABBA DOOZIE -A Little longer cast than ideal it was clear this was a quality youngster, fabulous pigment, including the highly desirable black nails. This happy well turned out boy had lovely dark eyes, rims and halos with the correct equilateral triangle. Lovely neck and shoulders, good chest and ribs and level top-line. Correct tail carriage. He was happiest on the move showing off his true movement. BPIB and BOB.

PG:(1:3)1st Moss & Connolly’s ASHMIR LIVE TO TELL MAMOSE- What a lovely outline this dog presented, lovely head and eye with scissor bite good pigment but didn’t always hold their tail over their back. Well handled.

Open:(1:3) 1st Pike & Carter’s CARTIKES MIDNIGHT MADNESS- A dog full of cheeky bichon character, lovely head, really good pigment and proportions, happy on the move a compact outline I would just like a little more leg.

CKCS

Puppy (6:6): A lovely class of 6 puppies that brought a big smile to my face. 1st Taylor’s LUVTAYL DANCE IN QUEEN A very well constructed blanket coated tri puppy with a lovely outline and great shoulders and rear angulation. A real sweetie on the table enjoying her 1st outing. I thought I was going to give the class to the ruby bitch but on the last go round this puppy just could not be beaten on the move such elegant carriage and all together for one so young, with great rear drive. So well-schooled, I’ll watch her with interest 2nd Chapman’s EILANDI AMARETTO AT DALTONIAN A lovely compact ruby puppy really enjoying herself. Lovely round dark eyes, gentle expression and head developing well for her age. I would like a bit more neck but she does have lovely shoulders and moves with ease, keeping a level top-line even if she is a little shorter in the leg than ideal. The handler needs to ensure she gets her head up on the move as this cost her the class today. A true silky coat beautifully turned out. 3rd Luvtayl Rave about
