I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for inviting me to judge which was a Terrier Group filled to the brim with quality exhibits. Thanks to my steward who was efficient and kept my ring running smoothly. My appreciation must go to the exhibitors and their dogs who gave me some difficult decisions. You are a credit to your breeds and the world of dog showing. Some dogs required a little more time to settle with others needing gentle handling which I am more than happy to encompass.

A special mention to the young handlers in my ring today who were kind and considerate to their charges. Well done, if you are the future of our hobby and we are in good hands.

1st Tanton-Joy’s Orangebox A New hope At Itsaso BOB

Beautiful bitch with all the attributes you want to see in a Border Terrier. Lovely Otter type head with a keen expression, and good mouth. Good length of neck, correctly placed shoulders. Lovely straight front with a good chest and rib. Strong Hindquarters holding a correct topline on the move with the good tail set. Super coat and moved effortlessly front and back.

2nd Haydon’s Earthtaw Never A Dull Moment

Larger cast then 1, lost out on maturity to the first placed dog. Nice head with neat ears and a keen expression, good mouth. Good body and length of back. Moved well

1st Anscombe’s Kevrah Orion Seeking Orangebox RBOB

2 year old dog who is another dog which oozes breed type, super head with a saucy expression, neat ears and good mouth. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders and a straight front. Well-padded feet and a mature body, with excellent coat, correct tail set and moved well.

Super Red and White girl, she has just began to mature and is becoming a nice young lady. Good head with correct mouth, nice small eyes and well set ears. Deep chest and well placed shoulders and maturing body. Moved well once settled.

1st Hull’s Risibully Anarchy In The UK BOB, BP & PG4

Lovely 11 month old dog, lovely shaped head which has a super fill, nice small eyes with good mouth and nice ears. Lovely length of neck into well placed flat shoulders, good chest with good spring of rib for age. Straight front with excellent strength of bone, good length in body well-muscled. Correct jaunty movement which was free and had drive.

An excellent showman, super mature head with a broad skull and well doomed forehead and good top knot. Correct mouth. Large round dark eyes with a lovely expression and correctly placed ears. Long, low body, good front with superb spring of rib and good depth of chest. Hindquarters strong which allowed movement to be powerful and free. Good tail set and well-padded feet. Excellent coat and good feathering.

2nd Dainty Dandies River Mersey At Lenacourt

Longer cast than one, was rather distracted and didn’t show himself off to his best today. Nice type with a good head lovely eyes and good mouth. Long and low with a nice front, well placed shoulders and good depth of chest. Moved ok.

Lovely bitch who is daughter to the 2nd in this class, she is very feminine without weakness, lovely flat skull with the correct width. Lovely dark eyes, good mouth and neat ears. Correct length in neck leading into well placed shoulders which were long and sloping. Straight front with neat feet. Nice short back with adequate chest and good spring of rib. Moved well

2nd Roger’s Only You Du Manoir Saint Adrien At Lunafox (Imp Fra) RBOB

Another nice bitch who has many passed on many of her virtues to her daughter however on this occasion the daughter moved better and had overall more balance.

My notes say “what a pocket rocket”! She went around the ring like a bomb, very pretty puppy with a lovely head and expression. Good mouth, neat ears and dark eyes. Lovely neck leading into correctly sloping shoulders, super body for her age with a developing front.

1st Mignano-Fricker’s Calavey’s Double Oh Seven BOB

This was probably one of the hardest decisions I have to make during the breed judging.

Handsome dog who has an air of grandeur about him, lovely wedged head which is flat and board, neat ears with darks eyes and correct mouth. Neck is strong without coarseness, excellent shoulder placement which are laid back. Super body with the correct height/length ratio, legs carried well underneath and good tail set. Excellent coat in good condition and moved with ease.

2nd Bowden’s Fancy Free To Chellowside

This bitch gave the dog a good run for his money however I prefer the overall size of the dog.

She is beautiful with an expression which melts you. Super wedged head, lovely mouth with neat ears and correct mouth. Good length of neck leading into good well laid back shoulders, strong legs holding a straight front. Super body in tip top condition with a great coat. Moved effortlessly.

1st Warner’s Talanors Time For Fun BOB

Top sized dog with lovely wedged head, long flat skull which is well filled, nicely set dark eyes, and neat small ears. Good mouth. Straight front, with good shoulder placement and a body which is short and well sprung ribs and a powerful hindquarters giving correct drive in his movement.

1st Mullan & McFadden’s Watercroft Pop Muzik At Tamodan

This gentleman’s mind wasn’t in the show ring today which was unfortunate however his young handler did all she could to try and keep him interested. Nice size for the breed, good head with adequate width and length in body. Super coat.

1st Haydon’s Earthtaw Lincoln BOB

Great showman with a super outgoing personality. Good head with a lovely expression and dark eye. Near ears and good reach in neck, correct shoulder placement with a front which is powerful and strong. Correct length in back holding a level top line with strong driving movement.

Scottish Terrier

There was a slight upset in an adjacent ring just as I was about to begin judge this breed, the dogs were all rather distracted and needed a moment to settle. It is important to recognise when you need to allow your exhibitors and their dogs a few extra moments to recover and start again. Why risk the future show career of a dog.

1st Skudder’s Honeypaws Sweet Talking Guy BOB

This was a hard decision between 1st and 2nd however this dog on overall maturity. Lovely thick set dog with a lovely head with a lovely flat skull, good mouth with Beautiful dark pigment. Strong Powerful body which is in proportion. Excellent coat and moved with drive.

2nd Skudder & Caley’s Lucky Star’s Boom Shake The Room BP & PG2

Just lost out on maturity however given a litte more time I am sure these places with change. Lovely puppy with a head which is well proportioned to a lovely strong body. Dark eyes, correct mouth and super expression. Coat coming along nicely and moved well.

3rd Taylor’s Apollo SB Scotties Vegas Of Pamaswater (Imp AKC)

A special mention to this young handler who showed his dog with patience care and consideration. Will look forward to seeing your handling develop, keep it up!

1st Chambers Circinus Dare To Dream

Slightly less mature than the 2nd however was overall a more balanced dog. Good head, dark eyes and good mouth. Nice length of neck, correct shoulder placement with a straight front with a nice maturing body. Coat coming along and moved well.

2nd Cawley & House Ashgate Kirtle

Another puppy who has a lovely head, dark eyes and good mouth. Good reach of neck, ok shoulders with good length of back. Nice coat and moved ok.

1st Thompson’s Ashgate Kelvin BOB, BP & PG3

Super puppy who tipped the others in breed on maturity overall balance. Super head with a fantastic expression, dark eyes, good ear placement and correct month. Good length of neck, well laid shoulders with a straight font. Good length in body with strong powerful hindquarters which gave a very good overall picture. Sadly today his movement was rather lethargic.

1st Wynter’s Flashback Audacity, (Wire Fox Terrier AVNSC BP & PG1

What a little cracker, this puppy I am sure will have a super future. Beautiful fat sloping skull, with correct length sloping toward dark eyes and correct mouth. Super neat ears with gives the keen expression required. Lovely clean and muscular neck which leads to correctly placed shoulders and a super straight front. Lovely deep chest, short back with well maturing hindquarters and correct bend of stifle. Fabulous coat in pristine condition. Nice tail set which gave a lovey overall picture which improved even more on move.

2nd O’Dare’s Modann Top Of The Class

Nice puppy who is a well-balanced with a mature head and skull, good mouth and well set ears. Straight front with strong bone, ok length in neck and well placed shoulders. Lovely compact body which is short coupled and correct topline. Beautiful dense coat and moved well.

1st Rundle’s Ch. Sidewater Sea Fury Best AVNSC

A worthy champion who is knocking on the door as a veteran which you wouldn’t know by looking at him. Lovely long flat head which had the correct length, dark eyes correctly set ears and good mouth. Good reach of neck leading into well laid back shoulders into long legs which are strong straight and powerful. Deep chest with well sprung ribs, long body and good hindquarters with the correct bend of stifle. Good muscle tone with a great coat and furnishings. Moved well.

2nd Price Sardon Down Under At Josaka

Not quite the body or confidence of the 1st place. She has a lovely expression once settled, nice head which is feminine, she had dark eyes and a good month. Ears not quite as neat as I would like. Good reach of neck with an ok front, good depth of chest and ok spring of rib. Good coat and moved ok.

7 years old very feminine bitch, who has a lovely domed head and wonderfully dark round eye. Correctly set ears and good mouth. Well laid shoulders, into short strong front, good depth of chest and good hindquarters. Excellent coat and moved ok.

Lovely Black brindle dog who has a punishing expression, super head with correct ratio, eyes as dark as coal. Correct mouth with large teeth. Strong and muscular neck of correct length, excellent shoulder placement and good depth of chest with super spring of rib. Good tuck up with powerful hindquarters which are well muscled. Good movement which has drive holding a level topline on the move.
