MINIATURE LONG-HAIRED DACHSHUND

P (3) 1 McCarthy’s Nagshall The Odd Reason, 11m red dog with pleasing masculine head, correct eye and decent neck. His front construction was ok and won the class on his very good topline, correct length of coat and good feet. He was slightly unsettled on the move to begin with but once he got into his stride he went well with good tail carriage. RBOB and BP. 2 Bullis’ Summerview Blushing Beauty, 9m red bitch of smaller type with feminine head and expression. Would prefer more neck but she had good feet, ribbing and topline. She moved well but preferred the overall balance of 1. 3 Findlay’s Hanburydax Fleur Jac.

J (3, 1a) 1 Cox’s Cheritondax Chardonnay, 16m cream bitch with a pleasing head although eyes more rounded than I would prefer. She had sufficient neck, good chest and front angulation and a correct topline which she held on the move. Appreciated her rear angulation and purposeful movement with elegant head carriage – my BOB today. 2 Norris’ Urishay Amandine at Criscan, 11m red bitch with pleasing head and neck, good feet and although a better front than 1, she was not as good in profile on the move and I preferred the rear angulation of 1 too.

PG (3) 1 McCarthy’s Nagshall Odds On, 14m shaded red with appealing head and eye, good neck and sufficient coat. Ok front construction with good ribbing and a strong loin. Appealing outline on the move and on the stack. 2 Findlay’s Hanburydax Lord Oliver, cream dog of larger type, ok head and would prefer more neck. Moved ok and showed a good outline once settled but needed more confidence. 3 Findlay’s Hanburydax Phantom Lady.

O (1) 1 McCarthy’s Nagshall Dutch Odyssey, 3yo bitch with appealing head and eye and good neck. Pleasing head carriage on the move with good feet and front construction. Sufficient ribbing but lost topline on the move. Good rear and correct tail carriage.

STANDARD SMOOTH-HAIRED DACHSHUND

P (2) 1 Allen’s Zoraden Jemima Puddle Duck, 9m b/t bitch with very appealing outline on stack and on the move. She has a pleasing, feminine head, sufficient neck and a well-developed forechest. I appreciated her correct feet and angulation and excellent temperament. Her movement and balance was what won her the class, RBOB and BP. 2 Phillips’ Lolasloves Little Roly, 8m b/t dog who also had an excellent temperament. Good head and neck, sufficient ribbing, correct topline and decent length of body however short in upper arm which affected his front movement.

O (1) 1 Chapman-Reith’s Wanderhund Lets Celebrate for Hayvenhund JW, 4yo b/t bitch with very appealing outline on both stack and move. Feminine head/expression, well-balanced with a good neck, correct head carriage and she moved with purpose. She was possibly carrying a bit more than she needed to but this did not detract from her quality and excellent temperament which won her BOB.

STANDARD WIRE-HAIRED DACHSHUND

P (1) 1 Adams’ Ellesophia Fly Me To The Moon, 8m dog with appealing, masculine head and a decent length of neck. He had a correct coat and good topline although front movement could have been tidier. He retained his well-balanced outline on the move and demonstrated an excellent temperament. BP.

PG (4) 1 Nicholls’ Collidach Paige Turner, 2yo bitch with appealing profile, good length of body and a pleasing head and neck. Excellent temperament and correct coat. She moved well, retaining her topline and moved with purpose. 2 Matthews’ Sonham Saucy Saffron JW, bitch of taller type to 1 with good length of body, pleasing head and neck and good angulation front and rear. She moved well but I preferred the overall type of 1. 3 Effer’s Cishelvine Miss Tyfication.

O (3) 1 Effer’s Greyhayne Hector, dog of larger type but with very good head and neck. Excellent temperament, good front construction and appealing profile both on the stack and move. Good head carriage, correct coat and very good rear angulation – very happy to award him BOB. 2 Matthews’ Stanegate Billy The Kid at Sonham JW, taller, finer type to 1 with appealing head, good reach of neck and very good movement. Sufficient ribbing, correct topline and rear movement. He moved well but preferred overall type and length of 1, however he was more than deserving of RBOB. 3 Wills’ Cicelane Magnus at Kasalane.

MINIATURE WIRE-HAIRED DACHSHUND

P (1) 1 Kilroy’s Blackvein Rambler at Janacop, this 8m bitch made my BOB decision very difficult today as she demonstrated a great deal of confidence and ring presence despite standing alone. She was excellent in profile and retained this outline on the move. A pleasing feminine head but marginally more round in the eye than I would prefer. A very good neck and forechest and excellent topline. One to watch I’m sure. RBOB and BP.

PG (2) Kilroy’s Blackvein Princess at Janacop, 2yo bitch with good overall outline and balance. Nice head and good neck and front. Moved well with purpose. Heavier coat than I would prefer and not as good rear angulation as 2, however she won the class on her better topline and overall movement. 2 West’s Archidax Hocus Pocus, red bitch who was a little nervy today. She has a pleasing head and neck and a better coat than 1. Not the best topline on the move but she showed well once she settled down.

O (2) 1 West’s Archidax Dark Phoenix, 3yo red bitch with good outline, balance and angulation. Pleasing on the stack and move, very good head carriage and topline. Moved very well coming and going and edged a very good puppy to BOB with her purposeful movement.
