1ST Stevens, Mrs L & Mr P, Saturnii Cartoon’s Be My Valentine At Bumblecorn: A feminine bitch of just over 12 months of age who presented a very clean outline. This bitch has a very feminine head, correct clean and complete dentition with a scissor bite, clean neck, deep brisket, strong hindquarters, on the move she was sound but paced at times until settled. Best of Breed.

1ST Cook & Lamb, Mr A & Mr R, Brooke Will Do It Through Milcock: A male of 6 years of age. Stood alone in this breed.  This dog is too big overall for my preference.   Head of good length although ear set could be higher.  Good length of neck.  Rather upright in shoulder.  Would like more depth of chest.  Would like more width of second thigh.  Good bone.  Feet spoiled by nails that were too long.  Moved accurately and soundly.  Best Of Breed and I learned he later took BIS.

1ST Brown, Mrs C L, Matrevers Cherokee: A male of just over 12 months of age, extremely well balanced and displayed correct breed type. Balanced head that is proportionate to body. Correct, clean and complete dentition, very good forehand assembly with sloping shoulders, deep chest with elbows close to body, excellent bone, good quality harsh coat, tight feet, moved very well. Reserve Best Of Breed.

2ND Harries, Mrs S, Gleomac Daffodils In Bloom (AI) TAF: A very raw bitch of nearly 7 months of age who is still learning and adapting to the show ring. Of pleasing overall type, well made head, dentition correct, clean and complete, clean neck into good forehand assembly, strong loin, moderate hindquarters, once settled she moved soundly. Best Puppy.

1ST Morris & Evans, Miss & Mr, Bareve By Kind Permission: Beautifully balanced bitch of 4 years of age. She exudes breed type. Balanced head that is proportionate to body. Correct, clean and complete dentition, well placed shoulder and return of upper arm, deep chest of good width with elbows close to body, excellent bone, good quality harsh coat, tight feet with short nails, moved and handled extremely well. Best Of Breed & BIS4

2ND Harries, Mrs S, Myrna Loy: A bitch of just over 9 years of age who is still showing with the enthusiasm of much younger exhibits. Still presents a very typical example of the breed, very good head, neck and forehand assembly, moderate hindquarters and completely sound when moving.

1ST Matthews, Mrs A D, Sonham Raising The Game: A male of just over 7 months of age who I really like for his overall type and stature. Correct and typical breed head. Dentition correct, clean and complete, Eyes correctly placed. Very good clean neck. Well balanced throughout and without exaggeration. Excellent forehand assembly, deep chest, short-coupled. On the move he demonstrated sound, breed correct movement. Best Puppy.

1ST Osman, Mrs M, Cattistock Cosmos With Marissolo: A male of 13 months of age who stood alone in this class and presented a very pleasing overall outline. Good proportions, balanced, good bone and correct feet, good head with correct and complete dentition leading to muscular and slightly arched neck, very good forehand assembly, excellent depth of chest, good body, muscular hindquarters, very good feet, moved well. Reserve Best Of Breed.

1ST Matthews, Mrs A D, Sonham Chasing Rainbows: A superb bitch of just over 3 years of age. The overall type and balance of this bitch I loved, pleasing head, correct, clean and complete dentition, strong neck into well placed shoulders, Good depth of brisket and spring of ribcage. Strong topline with correct tailset. Well made hindquarters with correct turn of stifle. On the move she was accurate in all planes and showed good length of stride when viewed in profile. Best Of Breed

2ND Osman, Mrs M, Fleurfield Firethorn At Marissolo ShCEx: A male of 5½ years of age, mature and presented an excellent outline of balance and breed type. Balanced and symmetrical male, well muscled throughout, skull of medium length, correct mouth, strong neck and well made forequarters, well sprung ribs, short coupled, strong and muscled hindquarters, moved soundly covering plenty of ground.

1ST Leeming, Mrs M, Kadaka Kalypso At Iscadu: Beautifully balanced bitch of just 8 months of age. Presented an extremely pleasing picture when standing. A quality bitch. Super feminine head with a melting expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Correct layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Brisket of good width and depth for her tender age and good length of ribcage. Well made hindquarters with excellent bone and the very neatest of feet and shortest of nails. She moved very well with good open side gait when viewed in profile. In good coat and very good condition. Best Puppy and PG3

2ND Clarke, Mr M & Mrs J, Sunnyoak The Look Of Love: A pleasing puppy of just 6 months of age and extremely raw as one would expect. Balanced when standing correctly, not exaggerated in any way, pleasing head and eye, correct, clean and complete dentition and correct bite, correct layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Deep brisket and good length of ribcage. Well made hindquarters with excellent bone and feet. Down on pasterns Moved well.

1ST Kirkup & Highman, Dr S E & Mr A P, Coldharbour Candy Cane: Upstanding male puppy of almost 10 months of age. Definitely not at one with his handler on the day. Moved erratically at times. Pleasing head and eye. Dentition correct, clean and complete. Clean neck, well placed shoulders, good width and depth of brisket, moderate hindquarters. Good bone all through. Moved soundly once settled

2ND Richardson, Ms A & Mr P, Stormhayes Midnight Sky: Bitch of 10 months of age whom I liked very much but on the day just did not settle and show to her best advantage. Feminine head with a melting expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Correct layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Brisket of good depth and width and well ribbed back. Well made moderate hindquarters with excellent bone and feet. Moved erratically but again, once settled she was sound.

1ST Todd, Mrs P T, Kelbadora Dream Of Dreams With Toddrosa: Beautifully presented, handled and shown bitch of 13 months of age. Super feminine head with the softest of expressions. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Clean strong neck into very good layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Well ribbed leading to strong loin well muscled and moderrate hindquarters. Quality bone all through, tight neat feet with short nails. Moved extremely well, accurate in all planes.

2ND Coad, Mrs E, Tinkersroc Bon Bon: A very pleasing male of 16 months of age. Presented a very nice outline and free from exaggeration. He does need to be shown to his best advantage. Balanced and very well made all through, super head and expression, correct, clean and complete dentition. Very good forehand assembly. Level topline. Moderate hind angulation. Excellent bone and feet. Moved accurately and soundly.

3RD Healey, Ms M J, Marsabit Eliza Doolittle

Special Yearling (5)

1ST Healey, Ms M J, Marsabit Shimmer and Shine: Beautiful bitch of 21 months of age – she won this class because of her overall type but her outstanding movement assisted by a very good handler who allowed her to move to full potential – I did consider her for higher honours but he tender age pegged her back. This bitch looked as if she could easily do a day’s work in the field. Very well balanced. Feminine head with soft expression, dentition correct, clean and complete. Excels in forehand assembly. Well ribbed leading to strong loin and well muscled hindquarters. In excellent coat and condition.

2ND Carter, Mrs S, Mst E & A & Mr J, Kadaka Kauldrun: A very promising young male of almost 2 years of age. Well balanced all through. Beautiful head with correct chiselling beneath his eyes and a lovely expression. Excels in forehand construction. Deep in brisket of good width and well ribbed back. Strong hindquarters. Level topline maintained in movement. Stands square hock to heel with excellent bone and feet. Moved well with good forward reach.

1ST Watts, Mrs R & Mr J, Stormhayes Hop Into Spring: A very nice male of nearly 19 months of age. Masculine head with dark eye. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Strongly made all through with very good bone and feet. Good forehand assembly. Very good depth and width of brisket and well ribbed back. Moderate hindquarters. Moved soundly.

1ST Hurrell, Mr & Mrs A, Kadaka Kaos At Gillansgold: An extremely nice male just over 2 years of age who ticked all the right boxes for me on the day – he gave the distinct impression of being more than capable of working in the field for a day. I really loved this dog’s outline and type. Not flashy or exaggerated in any way but instead excels in overall construction and balance. Good head with requisite chiselling, correct, clean and complete dentition and correct bite, clean, strong neck into well placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm, chest of good width and depth, well ribbed, strong hindquarters, good bone moved accurately both fore, aft and in side profile when asked. In excellent coat and shown very well.

2ND Williams, Mrs L J, Pantegparish Best Mate: Another extremely pleasing male and one month younger than my first placed exhibit. Very good head and expression with dark eye. Dentition correct, clean and complete with scissor bite. Strong, clean neck. Correct shoulder placement and corresponding length of upper arm. Good depth of brisket. Being ultra ‘picky’ his loin is of optimum length for me but was not penalized for this and neither would I. Well made moderate and muscled hindquarters. Excellent bone and feet with short nails. Moved well and soundly. Beautifully presented and shown – thank you.

1ST Clunie, Miss K, Warrentor Second To None: An absolutely stunning bitch of only 23 months of age – presented and shown to perfection. She is extremely well-balanced and symmetrical all through. Mouth is correct, clean and complete with full dentition and a scissor bite. Very feminine but balanced head with super soft expression that is well chiselled with dark eyes. She excels in forehand construction. Deep in brisket, which is of very good width and well ribbed back with balanced and short-coupled body. Hindquarters that are both strong and muscular with excellent width of second thigh. Moved maintaining a level topline at all times and showing good forehand reach and drive from her hindquarters. Stands square hock to heel with excellent bone and feet. Presented in beautiful condition with full coat. Reserve Best Of Breed.

2ND Thomas, Mr A & Mrs C & Miss C, Santandore Blonde Over Blue: A male of just over 3 years of age. He needs to have his jacket worked on and would then present a completely different picture when being shown. Pleasing head and expression, dentition correct, clean and complete, strong neck into good forehand assembly, moderate hindquarters, sound on the move.

Limit (3, 1abs)

1ST Edmunds, Mrs T, Sunnyoak Gold Hill: A strongly built male of just over 4 years of age. Masculine head and expression but not coarse, correct, clean and complete dentition, clean neck. Strong neck, which could have been cleaner, well placed shoulder and return of upper arm, brisket of good width and depth, strong hindquarters, good bone and neat tight feet with short nails. Standing, he was slightly down on his pasterns. Sound on the move. A very pleasing overall type.

2ND Clarke, Mr M & Mrs J, Sunnyoak The Girl Is Mine: A bitch of 3 years of age. Presented in good overall condition but minus her full coat. Feminine head with good expressions. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Clean strong neck into good forehand assembly. Well ribbed leading to strong loin and well muscled hindquarters. Good bone all through, tight neat feet with short nails. Moved well. 

Open Dog (8, 5abs)

1ST Clunie, Miss K, Warrentor Bold As Brass JW: A top quality male and of almost 2 years of age, difficult to fault as he is so well balanced and symmetrical. He screams breed type. Totally free from exaggeration. Of medium size, excellent head with just the requisite amount of chiselling, dark eye. Correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Strong neck of moderate length leading into excellent forehand assembly. Brisket of good depth and width. Ribs well sprung into short muscular loin, strong hindquarters, which were well muscled with moderate turn of stifle and the second thigh was of good width. Moving he was accurate in all planes, showing very good forward reach and drive from the hindquarters. Extremely well presented and handled as is always the case from this kennel. Without doubt, fit for function. Quality bone all through, tight, neat feet and short nails. 

2ND Mace, Mrs J, Harry The Mgician At Telanjan VW: Unbelievably, this male is just over 10 years of age, an absolute credit to his owner and the breed itself. Beautifully presented, balanced and handled – thank you. A very nice male and very pleasing on the eye. Very good head and eye, correct, clean and complete dentition and correct bite, strong neck into good forehand construction, well ribbed into strong loin of, sound hindquarters, moved well and soundly if not a little conservatively given his age.

1ST Ives, Miss A & Mrs T, Balsamina Bellini JW: An outstanding bitch of 23 months of age. Presented in super overall condition and handled supremely. Extremely well balanced with a feminine head and the softest expression and dark eye, she has the requisite chiselling under the eyes. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Clean neck into very good assembly with corresponding return of upper arm. Very good depth and width to brisket with elbows on brisket, well ribbed into strong loin. Very good hindquarters with moderate bend of stifle. Quality bone throughout and neatest feet and corresponding short nails. On the move she demonstrated good forward reach and drive from the rear and showed a good open side gait. Her head carriage held on the move added to the overall elegance that she demonstrated today. Presented in excellent coat and condition. Best Of Breed

2ND Leeming, Mrs M, Kadaka Kameo At Iscadu: A bitch of nearly 7 years of age and of different type to my eventual class winner. well made and balanced all through, Good head with correct, clean and complete dentition. Deep chest well placed shoulders. Slightly down on her pasterns Strong hindquarters. Quality bone and the very best of feet. Moved very well.

1ST Purves, Mrs J V, Grousehill Irish Setters: Perfectly matched in type and size. Presented in super condition and moved in tandem perfectly symmetrically and in sequence with each other.

2ND Wareham & Dunstan, Mrs R & Mr S, Prestij & Maursett Clumber Spaniels: Another super pairing and well matched. Not quite as accurate as the winners but moving freely and soundly nonetheless.

1ST Murch & Mayhew, Miss L & Mrs C, Next Generations Arnac Artic Storm (IMP USA) (Chesapeake Bay Retriever): An outstanding male and example of the breed and of just over 18 months of age. Very difficult to fault. He absolutely exudes overall quality, type and presence in every department. Presents an extremely well balanced outline. Outstanding head of correct proportions with ears well placed, deep strong muzzle and underjaw. Correct clean and complete dentition. Strong, clean neck leading to an excellent layback of shoulder with corresponding return of upper arm. Excellent width and depth of brisket with elbows close to chest. Excellent spring of rib into short and muscular loin. Muscular hindquarters, correct tail set. Quality coat of good texture. Excels in bone. The very best of tight and neat feet with short nails – thank you – On the move I could not fault this dog, he was accurate in all planes demonstrating good drive from the very best of hindquarters assemblies and expertly handled.

1ST Salmon, Miss A J, Crimicar Indigo Eclipse (Spaniel, Cocker): A beautifully presented male of 22 months of age. Extremely well balanced in all areas, dentition, correct, clean and complete, good head with square muzzle, full eyes, moderate length of neck into well placed shoulders and excellent return of upper arm, well sprung ribs, short loin, good bend of stifle, presented a lovely picture moved well and handled very well.

2ND Purves, Mrs J V, Grousehill Dream Boy (Irish Setter): A very nice male of 18 months of age. Racy in outline, very head, not snipy, dentition correct, clean and complete, very kind expression, lovely clean neck, deep chest, well placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm. Stifle and hock joints well bent, good feet, moved very well. Presented in beautiful condition; shown and handled well.

1ST Bradley, Mrs L & Mr P, SH CH Stanegate Stage Debut (Ai) (Irish Water Spaniel): I have always been extremely impressed with this beautiful bitch of 2½ years of age. The epitome of breed type. She is so beautifully balanced with typical head and slightly aloof expression. Strong neck to well laid shoulder with corresponding return of upper arm. Brisket of super depth and width with barrel ribcage right on the elbow. Short back with strong hindquarters and well let down hocks. In excellent coat and condition. On the move she demonstrated the correct roll from the ribcage. An outstanding example of this breed

2ND Attwood, Mr B & Mrs K, IR SH CH Kylowen Drym ShCM (Spaniel, Welsh Springer): A very nice male example of this breed at 7½ years of age. Presented a clean outline that was both elegant and impressive when standing and on the move. Lovely head of correctly proportionate length, soft expression, ears set moderately low, correct clean and complete dentition with a scissor bite, very good layback of shoulder with corresponding return of upper arm, body balanced and proportionate to length of leg, tight feet, on the move he showed drive from his rear coupled with a ground covering action.
