Eastbourne & District Canine Society

Critique for Chihuahuas and Pomeranians

Eastbourne & District Canine Society 26th June 2022

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge at their show and for their hospitality. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for entering under me and allowing me to go over their dogs.

Long Coat Chihuahua

Junior 2 (1)

1st Lykath’s Robby Lewis – 8 month old parti male. He was a little unsettled on the table but I managed to go over him. Flaring ears well placed on a domed skull. Lovely big, dark round eyes. Slightly longer in muzzle but good dentition. Straight topline and well set tail. Front movement needs to settle but he is still a baby.

Post Graduate 3

1st Lykath’s Hetty Wainthrop – 8 month old red girl. Litter mate to the junior winner. A lovely little girl with a beautiful head, large flaring ears and dark eyes. Nice deep stop with a nice length muzzle. Lovely dark pigment. Good mouth. Lovely reach of neck leading onto a spirit level topline and tail set. A nice chunky puppy. She was not very confident but she is only a minor puppy. BPIB. 2nd – Smith’s Enigmadogz So Scrumptious At Lozek. 2 year old cream girl. Dark round eyes, longer in muzzle to the class winner. Mouth ok. Good reach of neck, deep brisket. Not very confident and carried her tail down at all times.

Open 4

1st McMullan’s Doobyave Du Bois – A tri boy that I have admired ring side for a long time. Hands on, he did not disappoint. Beautiful domed head with large flaring ears that he used all the time. Dark round eyes, deep stop and just the right amount of muzzle. Typical chihuahua expression. Deep chest and a nice spring of rib. Correct on set of sickle tail which he carried up and over. He moved around the ring with drive. BOB. 2nd Cater’s Pixel Moonlit Sea JW. A red bitch with such a pretty face. Lovely reach of neck leading to level topline. Good turn of stifle and moved with brisk, forceful movement. Not the best venue today which caused her to drop her tail. RBOB

Smooth Coat Chihuahua

Junior 2 (1)

1st Smith’s Lozek Enchanted. 9 month old bitch. Lovely domed skull with well placed ears. A moderate muzzle, deep stop and good dentition. Level topline. Did not show the best and had her tail down. RBOB, BPIB

Post Graduate – No entries

1st Davidson-Poston’s Davixity Bruhn Spinillions. An absolutely gorgeous black and tan boy. Fabulous head with a domed skull and large flaring ears which he used to his advantage. Large round eyes set well apart. Lean cheeks with a moderately short muzzle. Good spring of rib. A little longer in body but level topline. Tailset a little low but carried the tail up and over. A spirited boy with typical chihuahua attitude. BOB
