Thank you to Greenock for the invitation to judge their open show. It was a well-attended show with a great atmosphere. Really enjoyed my day.

Gundog Group 1. Labrador –FARBRAE ROCKAFELLA, Group 2. It Spinone SH CH BESSALONE PEAKY BLINDERS, Group 3. Cocker Sp – KIRLINJIS TAYLOR MADE, Group 4. Weimaraner- GUNULT ELDERFLOWER AT GREYFURS

Weimaraner Open (7, 4abs)

1st Tierney – GUNULT ELDERFLOWER AT GREYFURS. At the top end of puppy but very mature and such a balanced girl, full of quality and substance throughout. Pleasing head, with correct moderate stop. Good ears, lay back of shoulder and well sprung ribs. Has great angulation fore and aft, which she used to advantage on the move with powerful strides and driving around the ring. Pleased to award her BOB and Group 4.

2nd Mclaine’s -GREYSPIRIT HOPES N DREAMS. Slightly longer cast bitch, but much to like. Good depth and spring of rib. Well angulated and well balances throughout. Moved well.

Labrador Retriever Graduate (8, 3abs)

1st Holliday – FARNBRAE ROCKAFELLA. Strong yellow Labrador male full of quality. He had a good broad skull, defined stop and was clean through to his neck and shoulders. Good depth of chest and well sprung ribs. Correct straight front and tight round feet. Well developed hindquarters. Good thick tail which was used to advantage on the move. Great mover with good footfall and drive around the ring. Pleased to award him BOB & Gundog Group 1.

2nd GILROY – CLAYCHALK COSTA TAKA – Another nice and balanced dog. Good broad and strong head. Good depth of chest and angulation throughout. Moved with drive around the ring.

Labrador Retriever Post Graduate (3, 2abs)

1st LENNOX, ROBERT & MORGAN – WILENMORY DIAMOND DREAMS – 6 year old bitch shown in good condition. Pleasing head, good ears. She has good front angulation and moved OK.

Labrador Retriever Open (4, 3abs)

1st GILROY – CLAYCHALK COSTA YEN – Lovely keen and strong male. Correct broad head and skull with good stop. Good layback of shoulder and good straight front. Good angulation front and back. And good depth of chest. Moved well both going and coming towards.

Gordon Setter Graduate (3, 2abs)

1st YATES – GAILIECH IRIS GODDESS – 2 year old bitch who was giving her handler a bit of a hard time but she has a pleasing head and eyes. Good length of neck. Presented in good condition. She held a good topline and moved well once settled.

Gordon Setter Open (5,1abs)

Lovely open class. Thanks for bringing them.

1st MILLAR – YENNADON BENRIACH JW SHCEX - 4 year old male very much into his prime. Pleasing head and eye with good stop and low set ears. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders and straight front. Good length of lion into well angulated hind quarters. Presented in great coat and condition. Moved well around the ring. Pleased to award him BOB.

2nd Munro – PANTHERA BAD MEDICINE DULMAUR (IMP POL) – A very nice bitch, really liked her for overall balance and outline. She had a lovely head, good reach of neck and leading into a good topline. Preferred the return of upper arm on my winner, but a lot of good qualities. Another good mover and drove around the ring, moving well.

English Setter Open (4,1abs)

1st Vallance- ROWANMYLE WAS A SKELLUM – 3 year old male that has a great and balanced outline when stood. He has a lovely head and expression. Good depth and straight front. Well ribbed with correct length to lion. Good tail set and rear angulation. He moves so well both coming and going lashing his tail. Pleased to award him BOB.

2nd Thomson – BUSHBANE RATHLIN CASPELLWYND – Lovely head and expression on this boy as well. He was slightly narrower in front than my winner but still plenty to like about him. Good depth of chest and well sprung rib. He has good rear angulation which he used to his advantage around the ring moving well with great enthusiasm.

GSP Junior (3, 2 abs)

1st TAITS – BENBOEE BEELOVED – Just a baby at 6 months old but everything is there. She has a lovely balanced outline when stood. Pleasing head, a good straight front, tight feet and correct layback of shoulder. Good depth and ribs for age and good croup and tail set. For a baby she moved so true, lovely to see.

GSP Graduate (3, 1abs)

1st TAITS – BENBOEE BEELIEVE – Litter sister to the junior winner and a lot of the same comments and qualities apply. She moved with such drive and enthusiasm around the ring. Preferred her overall balance than 2nd today.

2nd GARVEY – RICHTIG RAGDOLL JW – This girl has a pleasing head and expression. Good length of neck and straight front. Well sprung ribs but found her slightly shorter coupled than 1 not looking so balanced when stood. She moved well around the ring showing good reach and drive.

GSP Open (4, 3abs)

1st GLEN & KNOWLES – WILHOLME AGNES BROWN AT BESSALONE- 5 year old bitch presented in good coat and condition. She has a good head and ear set. Good depth of chest and well ribbed. She had good feet and is well angulated fore and aft. She moved well around the ring. Pleased to award her BOB.

Cocker Spaniel Puppy (5, 3abs)

1st Maclean – LYNWATER ANNIE’S SONG – 6 month old orange roan bitch. I was quite taken with her, reminding me of a orange roan I once had from the Lynwater kennel years ago. She had a beautiful head and expression, good eyes and low set ears. Good reach of neck leading to well placed shoulders straight front and good feet. She was well ribbed for one so young and good tail set. On the move she really drove around the ring with her tail never stopping being a merry happy cocker.

2nd NUTTALL – CARMELFAIR ZAHRAH – Another pleasing puppy. She had a good head and ear set. Good straight front and in lovely coat and condition. Overall didn’t find she was quite as balanced due to being more longer than square. However, she moved well around the ring another who never stopped wagging her tail.

Cocker Spaniel Junior (3,1abs)

1st FAIRBAIRN, NUTTELL, MADIGAN – HELUIN BLUE JAY (IMP RUS) – A balanced girl when stood. She has good eyes and low set ears. Good angulation both front and rear and nice tail set. On the move she was good both coming and going. Driving around the ring.

2nd DUNCAN – EASTRIDING BLUE AMBITION – A nice dog that was presented in good coat and condition. Pleasing head and expression, could be better in shoulder placement but had a straight front and good rear angulation. Moved well.

Cocker Spaniel Graduate (7, 3abs)

1st SCOTLAND – LYNWATER ANYTHING GOES – A nice male that was very well balanced. Lovely head and expression, good eyes and low set ears. Good length of neck leading into good shoulder placement. Good angulation throughout, moved well around the ring but tended to carry tail higher than I would like.

2nd TORBETT – KIRLINJIS HANDMADE – A lovely girl and so balanced in outline when stood. She had a good head and expression. Good angulation throughout however I just preferred 1 on the move today as she was not as together on the move.

Cocker Spaniel Open (9, 5abs)

1st TORBETT – KIRLINJIS TAYLOR MADE – A striking 3 year old blue roan male. He has a great head, eyes and expression. Good low set ears. Correct length of neck into shoulders and good return of upper arm. He had good depth well off for rib and well angulated in rear. He was presented in great coat and condition. On the move you see how well made he is, so true both coming and going and driving around the ring. Pleased to award him BOB and Group 3.

2nd TORBETT – KIRLINJIS KUSTOM MADE – Litter sister to winner a lot of the same qualities apply but not as together on the move today as her brother.

Hungarian Vizsla Open (6,2abs)

1st MURRAY & PARKER – TRUE MAGIC OF SKYROCKET AT SZELKIRALY – 8 month old male puppy but so full of quality. Good head, with depth and correct stop and good expression. He had a good length of neck into shoulders. Straight in front and nice tight feet. Good rear angulation which he used to drive and move well around the ring. BOB.

2nd MURRAY & PARKER – MENTA OF SKYROCKET AT SZELKIRALY – A nice quality bitch, not as good in front as the winner but a lot of good qualities. She had good feet, well ribbed and good rear angulation with correct croup and tail set. She moved well around the ring.

AV Gundog NSC (17, 9 abs)

1st KNOWLES & GLEN – SH CH BESSALONE PEAKY BLINDERS – Italian Spinone male that is just full of quality. So well balanced when stood, well off for substance and bone. Good head and eyes. Good width to skull and depth of muzzle. Correct length of neck leading into good layback of shoulder. Great depth of chest, spring of rib and length of loin. Good rear angulation. He has the correct topline, rising slightly over the loin. On the move he was so true coming and going driving around the ring. Pleased to award him Best AV NSC and Gundog Group 2.

2nd CHARLISH & BRIDGEN – BRAITHWAITE LOVE IN THE AIR - Liver and white pointer male that presents such a balanced outline, good head and skull, correct straight front and nice tight feet. Good depth of chest and rear angulation. Good croup and tail set. On the move he drove around the ring, but handler needs to be careful that he doesn’t crab as he can move very well.

AV Gundog Special Minor Puppy

1st MCALEESE – TOSELAND ROLLS ROYCE – Golden Ret Male Puppy so full of quality. He has the most beautiful and melting head and expression. Good low set ears. Plenty depth of chest and ribs. Good straight front and strong in pasterns. Good length to body and leading into well angulated in rear. Good tail set that was carried correct also on the move. When moving he is so stylish and eye catching, moving very true.

2nd CHARLISH – QUENSHA PEOPLE KEEP TALKING OF HARELFERG – Irish setter male puppy also full of quality and everything there at such a young age. He had a melting head and expression, good eyes and low set ears. Would prefer slightly more neck, but he had good shoulders, front angulation and correct rear angulation. He had plenty rib for his age too. On the move he drove around the ring and was so happy enjoying the showing.

1st GUNULT ELDERFLOWER AT GREYFURS

2nd Vallance – GLENCARRON SECOND EDITION TO CORCECONE – Irish Setter puppy bitch that has the most beautiful head and melting expression. Finer made, but everything again just right for her age. Good length of neck, into good shoulder. Straight front and nice tight feet. Enough rib for age, and good length. She has correct tail set and rear angulation. She is so true when on the move both going and coming back with driving action around the ring.

AV Gundog Veteran

1st LENNOX – SH CH WILENMORY COLLABRO JW – 7 year old Labrador bitch who was just loving the show ring still. She had a melting eyes and expression. Good depth and well angulated throughout. She had a lashing tail throughout the class and moved well.

2nd MADIGAN – MISPERROS SILVER LINING AT CARMELFAIR – Cocker Spaniel bitch who is a credit to her owners. Well balanced in outline, good angulation throughout and in great coat and condition. Moved well around the ring.

Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Open (2,1abs)

1st MacKenzie – KIRKTONHILL RUMOUR HAS IT – A lovely male. Compact in good coat and texture. Good square muzzle, dark eyes. Good layback of shoulder and depth of chest. Hindquarters strong and well bent stifles. He moved well around the ring. BOB.
