Cesky Terriers – West Highland White Terriers – Bedlington Terriers

Judge – Tracey Anscombe

Thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge at your show and providing such lovely rosettes. Also to Janet and Libby my very able stewards. Although I was not judging ‘my breed’ today I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to get to appreciate other exhibitors’ dogs. Thank you for entering

Cesky Terrier – Postgraduate 3 Entries

1st Talyot Magnus to Silak JW (Mr G & Mrs S Samson) – BOB G2

A 2-year-old dog who was the best moving exhibit of the day which is what secured him Best of Breed. Like his size and balance. Actively went around the ring holding a nice profile. Presented in show trim that enhanced his overall shape, well-muscled rear and strong neck. He was a pleasure to go over and thrilled to see him go Group 2 under the Group Judge.

2nd Komidion Rychnovsky Dajaces (Mrs J Lewis) - RBOB

A 3-year-old dog who is very nicely made although top end in size for the breed. Another presented in good order. Moved well around the ring with good action which is what was the deciding factor when awarding Reserve Best of Breed.

3rd Talyot Odin to Silak (Mr G & Mrs S Samson) – BPIB PG2

What an adorable puppy full of mischief just has it should be. Head of nice proportion and correct dentation. Presented well and when he did co operate with his handler moved out briskly with reach. I am sure he will do well and nice to see him go Puppy Group 2 under the Group Judge.

Cesky Terrier - Open 3 Entries

Unfortunately, none of the dogs in this class moved out to the best of their abilities because I believe the ring size and also a few slipped on the surface so became hesitate in going forward.

1st Silak Shasgav My Immortal (Mr G & Mrs S Samson)

A real quality bitch who fits the breed standard to the letter, correct size and very well balanced in profile. Presented in good show condition and groomed to show off all her attributes. She just was very unsettled on the move today but placed above her sister on overall type.

2nd Silak Shasgav Sound of Silence ShCm ShCEX (Mr G & Mrs S Samson)

Litter sister to 1st and the same comments apply my notes close up to 1st. Coat was Ok, and she did move out the best in the class.

3rd Janski Philosopher Dajaces (Mrs J Lewis)

West Highland White Terrier - Postgraduate 1 Entries

1st Ashgate Kirtle (Miss B Cawley & Ms E House) - BOB

Super 14-month-old bitch, she still needs a bit more time to develop but her attitude and character for me is exactly has written in the breed standard – small active and game – Attractive feminine head with black points and well-placed ears that she really uses to enhance her expression. Coat of correct texture and well presented. Moved out around the ring with gusto maybe a little bit much at times! But did more than enough to secure Best of Breed.

West Highland White Terrier - Open 2 Entries / 1 Absent

1st Jamabis Devon Boy Blue (Mrs M Biscoe)

A five-year-old dog presented in lovely harsh white coat, he presents a balanced shape with an attractive masculine head piece with dark eyes and nose. Movement was Ok although he was distracted and just did not seem to be enjoying his day.

Bedlington Terrier – Postgraduate - 4 Entries / 3 Absent

1st Jobanker Rocky Road (A Poultney) - BOB

A 5-year-old, well-muscled liver dog presented in good order, pleasing in head with small well-set eyes, correct dentation, and soft top knot. Graceful in neck with good shoulder allowing him to move out well with reach and the distinctive gait. Although stood alone in the breed was worthy of Best in Breed

Bedlington Terrier – Open -2 Entries / 2 Absent
