North of England HPR Club Open Show on 28th May 2023.

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge at this show and my very competent steward for keeping everything running smoothly. I also extend my thanks to the exhibitors for bringing their dogs under me today and accepting my decisions so sportingly.

Weimaraner

Puppy (5)

1st Hill’s Weipowa Ida.

Balanced, well muscled 8mth bitch with a look of elegance about her. Pretty, feminine head with slight median line, good ears with correct fold and kind eye set onto a clean neck flowing into well laid shoulders and strong, straight forelegs. Good depth for her age. Correct length to height ratio, well sprung ribs and short, firm loin with good hind angles. Moved smoothly maintaining a level topline. I was pleased to award her Best Puppy In Breed.

2nd Rayner & Maskell’s Enjager Access To Raystans.

Not yet as together as 1 but never the less gave a perfect account of himself. A solid, well made lad of 7 mths with a sweet face, good eyes, flews, dentition and lovely, correct ears. Moderately long neck, well developed chest giving plenty of heart room, ribcage extending well back. Hocks well let down. Good feet, moved very well for one so young.

1st Dobbs Kalimor Summa Love JW

This class really gave me something to think about. 3 lovely bitches who could well change places on another day. Heading the class today was a stunning, well put together 19 mth old young lady who is super feminine yet strong and powerful. Prettiest of heads with a kind eye, fabulous ears, flews and correct stop set on a strong, clean and moderately long neck. Great front assembly with well laid shoulders and correct ground-elbow-withers and height to length ratio. Short, firm loin and level topline with slightly sloping croup. Good hind angulation and best of feet allowing her to drive around the ring with an effortless, ground covering stride. BOB.

2nd Tierney’s Gunalt Elderflower At Greyfurs JW

Slightly darker in coat than 1, but really caught my eye and pushed hard. Feminine head with the kindest of expressions. Correct flews, dentition, ears and slight median line. Strong, clean neck flowing into good shoulders. Good return of upper arm, lovely well developed chest, neat elbows, well ribbed with short, firm loin, level topline and good bend of stifle finished with good feet. Just preferred the movement of 1 today. RBOB.

1st Maskell & Rayner’s Enjager Harmony With Brownbank JW

My notes say ‘Lovely and pale!’, 20 mth bitch with good eyes, dentition, ears and median line. Good chest, well sprung ribs, moderate tuck up and good topline with correct length to height proportions and desired slightly sloping croup. She stands on strong legs with well let down hocks.

2nd Pilatova’s Sabsky Sasanka

Sweet 5 yr bitch presented in fit condition. Built on heavier lines, she is darker than 1 with good length, topline, depth of brisket, ribs and loin. Well let down hocks, moved well.

1st Robson’s Sh Ch Nemrac Connie At Robricci JW Shcm 

8 yr old bitch enjoying her day out and giving the youngsters a run for their money. Good head with kind eyes, correct dentition and ears with moderate stop and slight median line set on a clean, strong neck flowing into well laid shoulders with a well developed chest standing on strong legs and good feet. Correct length of body with well sprung ribs coupled with short, firm loin. Slightly sloping croup, good bend of stifle and well muscled second thigh for her age. Moved well. I understand she was awarded BVIS, Congratulations.

2nd Murray’s Rachmor Silver Tassie.

Thought she might be my winner in this class but she wasn’t as happy as 1. Paler and built on a different frame. Lovely head, eyes and ears with good teeth and desired moderate stop. Deep brisket meeting neat elbows and extending back to well sprung ribs and firm loin. Good length of back and croup. Moved well.
