Cumberland Canine Association

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Cumberland Canine Association Sunday 5th February 2023

I would like to thank Cumberland Canine Association for the invitation to judge at their warm and welcoming Open Show , it was particularly good to have two familiar breed faces as my stewards in Ray and Elaine to keep me on track.

CKCS

Class 67 CKCS Puppy

2:3

1st Crane’s Cranvarl’s Birthday Girl Rich coloured 8 month puppy that kept her topline on the move. Sweet face with dark eyes, nice pigment, and a scissor bite, happiest when moving.

2nd A well bodied puppy with lots of fluffy, glamorous well broken coat and an ever wagging tail, I just preferred the size and type of first place puppy.

Class 68 CKCS Junior

4:4

1st Sharp & Reyes Mitapip Mystical Spirit Stunning Blenheim bitch, lovely head and eyes with clean symmetrical head marking, well boned and ribbed with compact body with a lovely well broken quality coat. Her Sire is producing some lovely dogs. She pushed hard for Best of Breed but had to give way to the handsome and more mature dog today.

2nd Chapman’s Eikandi Amaretto At Daltonian lovely balanced ruby just out of puppy. Dark eyes with a head that needs to fill under the eyes. Lovely silky coat well turned out. This dog enjoys moving out.

Class 69 CKCS Graduate

4:7

1st Bacon’s Frondil Martha Chance at Timbric Balanced and graceful this girl is a lovely size and shape. She powers round the ring from her lovely well angulated rear, a joy to watch in profile

2nd A Beautiful tri that scores well for head and eyes that are framed by well feathered ears, confirmation not as good as the first place but a lovely cavalier all the same.

Class 70 CKCS Limit

1st Jenkinson’s My Little Star Lights: Reserve in the graduate class but gained confidence here, A well broken Blenheim bitch that kept a level topline around the ring.

2nd Rogerson & Williamson’s Rabymar Isla Negra hard to assess as didn’t want to make the most of herself today and was giving her handler a hard time. I could see a lovely head shape and eyes but she didn’t want to show me the full picture today.

Class 71 CKCS Open

2:4

Two lovely Cavaliers in this class I’d imagine they could swop places on a different day.

1st Walker’s Stavonga Sky Walker Kayceekay Quality Young Blenheim Male with a lovely head and expression coming from his dark eyes. He has a good headshape and symmetrical head markings and a well broken silky coat. He has a good width of thigh and drives from behind. He has an ever-wagging tail, showing a typical cavalier temperament. He couldn’t be denied BOB

2nd Another quality male at an unbelievable 8 years of age. Moves so well, keeping a level topline and is really balanced. He has a sweet expression, especially as he looks at his owner lovingly. A dog to be very proud of.
