I would first like to thank the committee for their invitation to judge alongside their hard work put into the show. My two stewards, Ian & Lisa, allowed the ring to run efficiently. Many thanks.

I was pleased with the overall quality of exhibits today. Despite the loud hall each dog showed typical Chihuahua temperament ; showing confidence and taking it all in their stride. Both size and mouths have been a concern of mine in the past but certainly not today. Quality youngsters coming through the ranks show a positive future for the breed.

Chihuahua (Smooth Coat)

1 - Anadeia Nardhanar

7 m/o blue fawn dog of good substance. Well domed skull with moderately short muzzle, definite stop. Excellent front for a youngster with well laid shoulders, straight forelegs and deep brisket. Rear well angled, hocks well let down. Would like a touch more neck, backline level at all times with flattish sickle tail completing the picture. Moves briskly - promising puppy. BPIB

2 - Cazants Devil In Disguise

7 m/o fawn sable dog of great temper. Head is typical with good dome to skull and large ears, lean in cheek. Another with well developed forequarters, ribs well sprung. Adequate length to neck with level backline. Good turn of stifle in rear. Tail set just a touch low and carriage tight. Moved out well coming and going. In lovely condition and certainly enjoying his day.

1 - Anadeia Eowyn

13 m/o fawn dog presented in well muscled condition. Masculine head with saucy expression, ears large and flared. Well developed forechest with straight forelegs, touch short in upper arm. Nice deep brisket. Good length to neck with level backline and well set tail, carriage a touch tight. Sufficient bend of stifle with hocks let down. Moved freely around the ring. 

2 - Charonchi Sugar Moon (Bb1)

10 m/o white bitch enjoying her day out. Head is typical for the breed with good dome to skull and large eye. Forequarters developing well with shoulders well laid. Lovely length to neck with level backline and sickle tail. Adequate bend of stifle but hind feet a touch out. Just needs time to come together.

1 - Dorenty’s Arfa Sixpence

2 y/o self coloured fawn dog who I was pleased to find today. Masculine head piece of good shape. Lovely forequarters with shoulders well laid, straight forelegs set well under. Ribs well sprung. Neck of correct length with slight arch, tail is of sickle shape and flat and furry. Ideal length of first to second thigh with stifles well bent. Really performed on the move, holding his topline and showing both reach and drive. BOB

2 - Slavinchi Ready Freddie Go

22 m/o dog of good quality. Skull well domed, jaws and cheeks lean, ears large. Enjoyed his striking pigment. Well muscled forequarters with straight forelegs. Neck of good length with level backline. Rear well angled with feet neither in nor out. Tail of sickle shape and set high. Pushed 1 hard but just lost his tail towards the end. Another shown in great condition.

1 - Cazants The Geisha Luvs Dorenty

2 y/o white bitch of nice type. Feminine head with large eye, skull well domed. Shoulders well laid with forelegs straight and set well under. Neck is of good length and level backline held throughout, another with ideal sickle tail. Good bend of stifle with hocks well let down, allowing her to move round the ring with drive.

2 - Moltobello Miss Myrtle Of Hulawawas

3 y/o tricolour bitch of good make and shape. Moderate head with large eye and flared ears. Forequarters are well developed with shoulders well laid. Deep brisket with good spring to rib. Level backline, sickle tail held up and over throughout. Good bend of stifle with hocks well let down. Moves briskly around the ring. Sound girl carrying a little bit of extra weight today.
