My sincere thanks to steward Bruce Jackson who did a sterling job and kept the ring running efficiently.

WHIPPETS

P – (8,1A). A super crop of exciting youngsters in this class. 1 Nevedith Hi Jinks (Miss E W Newton). 8 months, quality head, clean neck, slight forechest, good fill in front, and a beautiful make and shape, superb topline, medium bladed bone, strong loin and great width and strength to rear quarters and parallel when viewed from rear, considered for BOB but change of handler when moving in the challenge, cost her the win as she was rather unsettled. 2 First Class Soulad by Ranveli (Mr R Wheeler). Another beautiful male of such quality, stands over a lot of ground, good depth of brisket, moderate rear angles, well bent hocks, low tail set. 3 Tervanty Dragon Song at Palmik (Mr M & Ms Y Howgate & Hull). J – (9.3A) 1 & BOB & BP Nevedith Hi Jack (Ms G Samria). Turns out he is litter brother to 1st in puppy and many of the same remarks apply, is built on a larger frame, refined head, oval eye, small rose shaped ears, tapering muzzle and slight stop, correct bladed bone and spring in pasterns, oval feet which were well knuckled, good depth of chest, firm topline and graceful curve over the loin and well-made rear, moved freely and with an excellent stride in profile. Will watch his development with interest. 2 Boughton Berberis (Mrs S Sawer). Liked him for make, shape and style but could have more strength to underjaw, well-muscled up, straight front and good length of neck, moved well in all directions but needs to gain confidence when handled on the table.3 Ohoka Top Model at Hengilfach (Mr I & Mrs L Bayley). G – (4, 2A) 1 Boughton Begonia (Mrs M A & Miss C L Holder & Boggia). 8 months and a pleasing shape in profile, pretty head, correct rose shaped ear, clean neck, good tuck up, slight curve over loin, well bent stifles and good turn of hock, just needs to settle into her movement. 2 Doddridge Dazzle Um with Viscar (Mrs Lt Pedley-Biggins). Very well presented and perfectly handled to advantage, carrying the correct amount of weight and attractive brindle markings to enhance, she has a good depth of chest, well angulated rear, good tuck up, tight well knuckled feet, a little roached in the back and was throwing her front coming towards. L (1, 1A). O (2,1A) 1 & RBOB Ranveli Royal Touch (Mr R & Mrs K & Miss E N Wheeler & Rutter & Higginbottom), head was balanced, long and lean, eyes set wide apart with rose shaped ears correctly set, she has nice flowing and shapely body lines with nothing exaggerated, straight front and bladed bone, she moved well in all directions with a good free action. Was not quite as clean in front coming towards.

NORWEGIAN ELKHOUND

J (1,1A). PG - 1 Norvin Krackjen (Mr N Cuss). Lively male, slightly shorter in leg, coat of good colour and texture with good bone, gorgeous dark eye and very bright expression, high set tail which was with tight curl, very good drive from the rear, would like a shade less weight over the ribs. O - 1 & BOB Ch Bowerhinton Bassanio (Mrs T Maun). I believe was shortlisted in the hound group. Quality 5 year old male in his prime, attentive and with great expression, making a super compact shape and with excellent length of leg, presented in excellent clean and dense coat, very good movement on him in all directions, showing excellent rear drive and good reach in front 2 & RBOB Norvin Orkla (Mr N Cuss).Compact 3 year old male, again with a super lively temperament, good width of front but could have straighter forelegs, firm back, strong quarters, moving well in all directions, carrying his tail high over back with a curl.

HOUND NSC

AV HOUND NSC – P (4) 1 & BAVNSC Hound puppy. Rocky Succession of Baron at Madifrey (Imp Pol), Basset Griffon Vendeen (Grand) (Miss A O'day). So well schooled for a pup, and with excellent coat and presentation skills, holds himself very well on the move with a tail carried in a sabre shape and holding his topline. 2 Greyflax Edward at Anstyarna, Deerhound (Mrs S E Gilbert). A typy exhibit bred in the purple, with a quality head and with rough dark grey colour to coat, makes a pleasing picture in the stand, of good size, decent neck and moving with freedom. 3 Abbotsoak Summer Nights, Ibizan Hound (Miss V Woodcock).

J (2,1A) 1 Lelaps King in The North, Finnish Spitz (Messrs D & J Knights & Stokes). Lacking in coat but a super rich red shade, super smart outline and strong firm topline which he holds on the move, showing excellent rear drive, alert, lively and with excellent pigment, just crabbing a little on the out and back.

O (3, 1A) 1 & BAVNSC Ch Jayanel Peppermint Patty, Basset Griffon Vendeen (Grand) (Miss C L Cooper). Makes a great shape in profile in the stack and has super front and rear angles, with plenty of forechest, balanced head, kind expression, lovely long leathers, moved really well in all directions, excellent presentation and handling to complete the picture. 2 & Reserve Best AVNSC Ch Abbotsoak Any Dream Will Do, Ibizan Hound (Miss V Woodcock). Really liked this male, balanced, with the most attractive head, well placed eyes and high set ears, long clean neck, confident in nature and bold, super tight compact feet, with slight spring in pasterns and showing the correct hover on the move. This was a very close decision but a superb specimen of the breed.

AV HOUND – P (24,16A) 1 Priorpark Pride and Joy to Nzuri, Rhodesian Ridgeback (Mrs L & Miss S & Mr J & Miss H Mills & Mills & Mills & Parsons). Really liked her, excellent colour, make and shape, in hard condition, solid and sound on the move. 2 Palmik Never Too Late, Whippet (Mr M & Ms Y Howgate & Hull). Appealing head, compact in body, rich tri in super coat and condition, strong tail carried high. 3 Feldhund Moonlight, Dachshund (Wire-Haired) (Mrs A J & Mr A Beagrie).

G (16,7A) 1 Killoughery Mission Two for Inkleyboys JW, Irish Wolfhound (Miss K & Mrs C E Webb & Sheppard). A superb quality example of the breed with a classic head piece, strong neck, superb flow from head into topline, strong rear quarters, moved so soundly. 2 Nuthouse Going for Gold JW, Rhodesian Ridgeback (Mr J & Mrs S Hicks). Very nice female who showed her socks off to this position in this class, in excellent condition, well handled and well muscled up, smooth easy mover. 3 Diamondridge Dreadnought JW, Rhodesian Ridgeback (Miss K J Barnes).

O (9,4A) 1 Delianza What’s Your Motive JW, Rhodesian Ridgeback (Mrs K L Barker). V (14,7A) 1 Erylan Loki Maitre Du Mal VW, Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit) (Mr T & Mrs D Bartley). A petit deefying his age, just short of 8 years old and powering round the ring with such reach and drive and with super head and tail carriage, in superb harsh jacket and carrying the right amount of weight. Delighted to hear he went RBVIS. 2 Redcap Bella Sorella JW ShCM VW, Beagle (Miss S & Mr M Mcbain & Stevens). Another veteran who looks absolutely super for 12 years old.
