DOGUES DE BORDEAUX

Thank you to the exhibitors who braved the warm weather to attend today. I really enjoyed judging your dogs. PD (2) 1 and BP Morans Aibrean Liam a well boned young dog with a balanced and powerful appearance, broad well proportioned head and neat well set ears, muzzle is short and strong with defined chin, strong neck broadening and base and very good shoulders, muscular croup and well angled quarters, a little weak in pasterns but with strong well padded feet. Initially on the go around he appeared a little stiff but on the individual he moved out really well with plenty of drive. 2 Spencers Braveheart De La Bulle Rouge (Imp Hun) I liked the head on this 7 mth dog, he has ample wrinkling with a short strong muzzle and well placed oval eye, neck could be a little stronger but he has plenty of time to mature on. He has amply boned forelegs and excellent feet, I would like to see him carry a little bit more weight which I think would improve his overall look.

JD (3,1) 1 Olivers Bellamiabam Ivan this is a really nice young dog and I understand it was the handlers first time at a champ show and luckily the dog showed himself off! He has a masculine head with good width of skull, oval eyes set apart and short strong muzzle, excellent bone and a strong body with good ribbing, his rear movement is just fabulous, powerful, accurate and displaying good drive. He has a pair of the strongest hocks here today and if dog and handler could work a little more together I think they could do some serious winning. 2 Shepperds Parker Bernaux De Picardi at Khadeaux (Imp Pol) I liked the head shape on this boy which is strong and masculine with a good width of skull and open nostrils. He is well boned all through but is a little weak in pasterns, he has a reasonable topline and rear angles but needs to strengthen up behind

PG (2,1) 1 Mc Gintys Bourgeoisie Back to Black 18mth old and strongly made, masculine head with width to skull, short strong muzzle and prominent cheeks, excellent neck and shoulders and good width between the forelegs, forelegs are straight and strong but feet could be a little tighter, he stands with a slight rise in topline at the rump but this does level out on the move where he is sound enough but could have a little more rear drive.

LD (2,1) 1 and RDCC Bamforths Bellamiabam Ragnar a very nice 16 mth dog with nothing overdone and lots to like, he has a handsome head with width to skull with good wrinkling and defined chin, strong neck and muscular well laid shoulders, good width of forechest and depth of chest, powerful hindquarters that were well angulated allowed him to move with good rear drive and total soundness around the ring. Still only young but very promising and I notice he is full brother to the JD and JB winners, must have been a very nice litter!

OD (3,1) 1 and DCC, BOB Billis Ch Vegas V D Madroelhoeve (Imp Nld) What a cracking dog this is, powerful, foreboding and impressive from the front and the side although maybe just a fraction long in body but so well made. Broad head with slightly rounded skull and good wrinking ,short strong muzzle and well opened nostrils, strong neck with correct dewlap broadening into muscular well laid shoulders and a good width and depth of chest, well sprung ribs, strong straight topline and well developed thighs, he covers the ground freely with good reach and plenty of drive. Delighted to see his shortlisted in the group, congratulations ! 2 Brunger and Raingers Ch Loggerheads Thor, I was not surprised to see this dog is titled as he is quite impressive on the stack with substantial bone and substance and in fit condition, masculine head with muscular cheeks and well set oval eye, short strong neck, strong well proportioned body with good withers and powerful shoulders. I did consider him for the RCC but unfortunately he was rather sluggish today

SBD/B (1) 1 Shepperds Maddjacmorio Kilos Dream a very raw 10mth d who is not a bad shape but lacks a little bone and substance and both he and his handler could benefit from some ringcraft lessons to enhance his good points. The basic head shape is there and just needs to mature on, he stands straight enough in front with enough width between the legs for his age and has a reasonable topline but needs to drop in the rear. Although he appeared sound, his movement was a little difficult to assess as he failed to move in a straight line

PB (2,1) 1 Morans Aibrean Ojo De Oro this young lady has plenty of bone and substance but head is a little small and lacking in width of skull at the moment and consequently she looks out of balance. She has a strong neck and ample angulation at the shoulder with a good spring of rib for her age, she stands a little high at the rump but this levels out on the move and her hocks are straight and strong, she moved out steadily but beaten today by her more mature and better moving brother.

JB (3) 1 May and Billis Bellamiabam Lagertha sister to the JD and LD winner and an easy first place here, she is strongly made with good size and bone, forelegs straight to very good feet, head is developing nicely with some width to skull and a strong muzzle with enough upturn to chin, she has a good width to her forechest and well sprung ribs, she needs to firm a little in topline and tighten up a fraction behind but goes forward soundly driving well from behind 2 Jelleys Kenleap Calicite I though this 16mth girl had quite a nice head and expression and has ample bone for her size, she lacks a little in forechest and depth of chest and could be firmer in topline, I loved her rich coat colour which was soft under my fingers, she moved out soundly enough but appeared uninterested 3 Spencers Maddjacmorio Belle with Debsikay

PGB (1,1)

LB (3,1) Both these girls were a little heavy for my preference and where the standard states a slight tuck up, neither were displaying this today 1 Brunger and Raingers Doguesden Unuique a good sized light red with excellent bone all through and quite imposing in stance, strong neck broadening to well laid shoulders and a firm strong topline, just pipped the 2nd place on her overall balance 2 Bamforths Bellamiabam’s River, I really liked the head and expression on this medium sized girl and she is strongly made all through with a super front and depth of chest, a strong topline and well angulated rear but today she looked a tad short on the leg because of the weight she was carrying. I would love to see her in fitter condition as I feel she would have probably done quite well otherwise.

OB (6,1) A class of quality bitches here 1 and BCC Hambletts Ironmastiff-Kennel Zartha a stunning girl who caught my eye immediately, she has everything really in her size, bone and movement, head is strong and well proportioned but still feminine, she has good wrinkling and well shaped eyes set apart, neck is of good circumference and broadens at base, shoulders are strong and muscular to straight forelegs and slightly sloping pasterns, she has a good spring of rib and firm topline and is well constructed in the rear with broad muscled thighs and strong hocks, for her size she was remarkably agile covering the ground easily with good reach and drive. I was delighted to hear that this win today gave her the champion title, congratulations 2 and RBCC Cavanaghs Ch Real Akragas Ananke Shimano (Imp Ita) of completely different type to the winner being smaller all through but she makes a nicely balanced outline with ample bone for her size, her chest is broad and deep and ribs well sprung, she also had one of the best toplines here today and is very strong on the move displaying power from the rear, not in her best coat today 3 Bamforths Bellamiabam’s Ivy
