1ST Sh Ch Carrick Shadow Dog at Alanea (Imp Pol) (Mrs A Tattersall) Ths 7 year old dog caught my eye as he entered the ring, he has substance without coarseness and an overall elegance that cannot be ignored.

He has a masculine head with a broad skull and strong expression, good length and depth to his muzzle and a bright well shaped eye. His muscular neck flows smoothly into a well made front assembly with excellent forechest, lovely deep ribs under a firm topline leading to broad thighs with plenty of muscle. On the move he powered around the ring with perfect footfall. Put down in tip top condition with his glorious red and white coat gleaming in the sunshine I could not look past him CC & BOB

2ND W/D Dogs have good days and bad days just like we do and I commend the owner on deciding not to push her boy today.

1ST Gilliegrae So Berry Excited (Mr G J & Mrs G A Hart) 8 month who was really out to enjoy himself. Classically moulded head with a cheeky eye and lovely broad skull, well set ear, good reach of neck and well filled forechest. He has balanced angulation front and rear with oval bone and nicely shaped feet. Still needs to get his co-ordination together on the move, typical puppy but showed a strong profile action BPIB

1ST Rhoswendale Game Is On Again for Viszaset (Imp Fin) (Mr S & Mrs M & Miss N Martin & Martin & Green) Still only a young dog but an exciting prospect. He has a great headpiece on him, good square muzzle, bright hazel eye, correct stop with a broad slightly domed skull and classic markings. He has a muscular neck of the correct length, maybe carrying a pound extra over his shoulders but the layback is correct and he has a pleasing return of upperarm. He has a cracking depth and spring of rib and muscled rear which he put to good use covering the ground with reach and drive.

1ST Roanjora Cremant De Lux Copperwhite JW (Mrs L R Ward) Classic headed dog with a square muzzle, correct amount of stop and a slight dome to his broad skull. He has a bright, brown eye giving a soft expression. Standing he was very eyecatching with a strong topline and clean outline with balanced angulation. On the move he was a bit too keen so was pulling into his lead which did make him throw his front legs around but he showed good drive going around the ring.

1ST Sh Ch Daithi Shadow Dog with Ferngate (Imp Pol) (Mrs A B & Mr S H Catton & Cook) A truly athletic dog with lots of ring presence, fully mature and in his prime. He has a good width to his skull just a tiny bit longer in muzzle but his stop is correct and he has a gentle expression. His firm neck flows smoothly into a strong front assembly with a pleasing amount of forechest and depth of rib. Well muscled and put down in lovely condition. He pushed hard for the CC but didn’t travel quite as smoothly as the veteran RCC

1ST Sh Ch Zendarric It's A Kind of Magic Within Wroxham JW (Mrs E E Walker) At over 9 years of age this beautiful bitch is a real credit to her owner. She still has a strong clean outline and a sweet feminine head with a bright eye and broad skull. Firm through the neck with a good layback of shoulder and deep rib. She covered the ground well showing reach and drive just flagged a little when it came to the challenge.

I was surprised to hear these 2 were litter sisters, they obviously take after different sides of the family.

1ST Coolfin The Ecstasy of Gold at Caradilis (Ms D & Mr A O’kelly & Hancock) Looking at this bitch I was taken back to the beautiful IRWS bitches of the ‘80s, she has a classic head with the correct width to skull and muzzle, so pretty and feminine with clear markings. Strong and firm in neck, lovely front angulation with plenty of forechest and just the right amount of oval bone. She has the athletic shape I was looking for with a good spring of rib for one so young. Her powerful muscled rear really allowed her to cover the ground. She just lacked a little coat today but what she had was true to the breed with clear islands of rich red and pearly white. I will follow her career with interest RCC

2ND Coolfin Baltic Turn The Page (Miss P Jakins) A slightly finer bitch than 1st, she has an elegant head not quite as finished yet but with a bright correctly shaped eye and good stop. She has balanced angulation throughout with good oval bone and well shaped feet. Moved out covering the ground, I am sure these two will change places many times.

1ST Alanea Savannah (Mrs A Tattersall) Not the biggest of bitches but full of quality and breed type. She is classically moderate all through, unexaggerated symmetry, so balanced and feminine. I just loved her feminine head it is well proportioned with a squared off muzzle, correct amount of stop and dark gentle eyes. Pleasing length of neck flowing smoothly into an excellent layback of shoulder and firm and well held topline. Plenty of depth and spring of rib with a strong loin and moderate well muscled hindquarters. A lovely mover, so smooth and free in her action, she really drove around the ring with reach and drive. In excellent coat gleaming brightly in the sun. CC
