The Miniature Pinscher Club

Special Award Classes

Sunday 21st September 2025

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge the special award classes. While we currently have only one Miniature Pinscher, we have been around the breed for many years, and it was truly an honor to be asked to judge on behalf of the club. I also extend my thanks to the exhibitors for your entries and for accepting my placements. The decisions were not easy, particularly in the open class, where the competition was strong.

Puppy D/B (4,1)

1. Urwin, Urwin & James - Jaegerson Kingsman. A promising 10-month-old youngster of excellent type. Presents a lovely profile with a clean, balanced outline and good overall proportions. Coat is a rich dark red, short and close as required. Displays a correct head with narrow skull, slight stop, and strong muzzle; ears well set, enhancing alert expression. Dark oval eyes give the desired intelligent look. Dentition sound with a good scissor bite. Body compact with level topline; tail correctly set and carried, maintaining the elegant silhouette. Movement is free and confident, showing good reach and drive. Quite masculine but retains refinement and breed character. So pleased to see go BPIS in the championship show.

2. Hewitt – Ymar Tamborine Man. A 7-month-old youngster of good type, showing correct proportions and breed character. Placed on maturity over third, demonstrating more developed outline and confidence for age. Strong head with good skull-to-muzzle balance, giving a pleasing expression. Movement was generally sound with good reach and drive, though at times lacked focus when distracted, which is understandable at this stage of development.

3. Soper – Alcarazita Conrad Gates

Post Graduate D/B (5,1)

1. Soper – Dobenar Leonidas. A well-presented 2-year-old of lovely type, showing excellent balance and breed character. Coat is black & tan, rich and well-defined. Displays a good head with correct proportions, complemented by a strong muzzle and slight stop. Eyes dark and oval, ears well set, and dentition sound with a good scissor bite. The tail is correctly set and carried, maintaining a clean outline. Movement was a highlight—moved with ease, showing free, parallel action with good reach and drive.

2. Parker – Kaypin Happy And You Know It. A mature 4-year-old red of pleasing type. Displays a strong head, with good skull-to-muzzle balance and correct expression. Neck slightly short, which affects overall elegance, but body remains well-proportioned and compact with a level topline. Moved well around the ring, showing confidence and sound action with good reach and drive. Tail correctly set and carried, maintaining a clean outline

3. Scourfield – Alcatrazita Light Not Heat At Danton

Open D/B (15,2)

1. Coull – Vardenais Hot As Hell. A mature 4-year-old black & tan of lovely size, well-balanced and true to type. Presents a very feminine outline, combining elegance with correct proportions. Head is refined with pleasing expression, complemented by well-set ears and dark eyes. Body compact with level topline and correct tail set. Movement was sound and confident. Moved well around the ring, showing good reach and drive. Coat in excellent condition, rich and well-defined markings.

2. Westerman – CH Charpin Ottomatic JW. An almost 4-year-old black & tan of pleasing type and maturity. Displays a lovely side profile, well-balanced and elegant. Straight front adds to overall correctness, and the tail is well set and carried, maintaining a clean outline. Head features a lovely eye and well-set ears, giving an alert and intelligent expression. Coat is rich with clear markings. Movement was sound and confident, though placed behind first due to preference for overall size.
