 Having been interested in Affenpinschers for many years I was very much looking forward to this appointment, my first time awarding CCs in the breed.  Thanks to the Society for the invitation & their patience awaiting my approval, to the exhibitors for giving me the pleasure of judging their dogs & to Catherine & Julie my very efficient stewards.   I appreciate the natural look of these little dogs so was disappointed by over presentation in some dogs. 

PD (1,0) 1st Shennan’s Ashiblack King Of Swing  Almost a year old, he has a compact outline & is mature in body.  Typical monkey expression, dark eyes & small ears.  Neck is short, sturdy body with level topline to high set tail.  He moved soundly lifting his small feet. Harsh coat, I would prefer a more natural style of presentation.

JD (1,0) 1st Toohey’s Dinahtron Bear With Me 14 months old with appealing expression, dark eyes, domed forehead & high set ears.  Typical profile, short neck, straight front to round feet.  Tail well carried, could be a shade higher set. Correct rear angulation.  Lifted his feet in front, I felt he moved a touch close behind today.  

PGD (2,0) 1st Panton & Panton’s Guereza Goody Goody Yum Yum  Pleasing profile. Attractive small head, dark eyes & high set ears.  Blunt muzzle with turn up.  Typical monkey expression. Short back with level topline to high set tail giving a balanced outline. Front could improve. Well presented in harsh coat.  Won this class on his better movement.

2nd Toohey’s Dinahtron The Rock  Slightly bigger & longer than 1st, he has a typical head & expression.  Short neck, straight front & round feet.  Tail could be slightly higher set.  Moved out well with front lift, a touch close behind.

LD (3 ,0) 1st Callow’s Buffels Evidently Obvious  Appeals for type with overall balance.  Small head with domed forehead, dark eyes, well set ears & masculine expression.  Blunt muzzle with evident chin. Short in neck, straight front to round feet, firm topline, plenty of rib. Tail high set & correctly carried.  Won this class on his movement.

2nd MacDonald’s Ashiblack Benjamin Button At Zondora  Slightly smaller than 1st, he also appeals for type.  Dark eyes & correct high ear set, prominent chin.  Straight front, short neck & sturdy body.  Not the tail set & carriage of the winner.  Moved OK.

3rd Mumby’s Carmichan Impromptu

OD (6,0) 1st Stewart & Boulcott’s Ch Sugarlane Gibbonback  So typical & impresses for breed type, looks the part stacked.  He has a well proportioned head with an appealing monkey expression, dark eyes & small ears set high, enough chin with turn up. Short neck, his topline is level, sturdy body. Neat feet. Tail correctly set & carried. Presented in harsh coat.  He is well grown & well balanced.  So sound on the move in all directions DCC & BOB Pleased to see he was shortlisted in the group.

2nd McGroarty’s Ch Stig Of The Dump Ardhub  A smaller type with lots to admire.  Small head with domed skull, round dark eyes & neat high set ears.  Prominent chin with up turn, appealing expression.  Correct in front, short neck, plenty of rib, short loin & high set tail.  He moved well with front lift.  Very showy with a pleasing profile RCC

3rd Shennan’s Ashiblack Caviar JW

VB (3,1) 1st Atkinson & Clarke’s Pretty Woman At Darksprite 7 years & of larger type with a balanced profile.  Head pleases with feminine expression, dark eyes & small ears, blunt muzzle with turn up.  Square outline & straight topline to high set tail.  Doesn’t look her age & was presented in first class condition with a rough coat.  Correct movement.  I preferred her front to 2nd place.

2nd. Mitchard’s Veggfjellets Black Pearl At Wizabeanie 8 years old & also in very good condition.  Typical head & expression, prominent chin with turn up.  Sturdy body, well ribbed, short back, level topline to high set tail that was correctly carried.  Moved well.

MPB (2,0) 1st Santoriello & Isherwood’s Afterglow Alma's Not Normal For Pinicio 7 months old & mature for her age, eye catching outline.  Her head is feminine with round dark eyes, small high set ears & a typical monkey expression.  Short neck, straight in front & rib developing well.  Short loin to high set & carried tail. Handled to show off her virtues, she moved with the correct high stepping gait.  Coat is harsh & over prepared.  BP & pleased that she was shortlisted in the group. 

2nd Cary’s Carycares Jilly Jingles Such a raw baby & very immature compared to 1st. So pretty, she has a small head with a monkey expression, high set ears & dark eyes, prominent chin. Currently she lacks body & was somewhat uncoordinated on the move. She has everything in the right place, very promising.

JB (4,1) 1st McGroarty’s Carycares Wilhelmina Ardhub 16 months old with pleasing profile. Small head with feminine expression, round dark eyes, prominent chin & blunt muzzle. Sturdy body with level back, tail set & carried high.  Harsh coat. Moved soundly with enough lift in front & showed well, a quality youngster.  I was pleased to award her RCC

2nd Hick’s Datiro Gibbonchase  At just 12 months old she was giving away a lot in age & maturity here.  Of smaller type, square in outline, straight front & rear. Well ribbed, short back to high set & carried tail.  Head feminine, typical monkey expression with dark eyes & small high set ears.  Brisk on the move once settled.

3rd Mitchard’s Wizabeanie Sea Urchin

NB (1,0) 1st Hick’s Datiro Forgibbon Forget Litter sister to 2nd in JB & many of the same comments apply, this one was more mature & more settled. Pretty head with correct proportions, dark eyes & well set small ears. Blunt muzzle with prominent chin. Straight front to neat feet, firm topline, rib developing well, sturdy body.  Tail correctly set & carried.  Moved well with the required front lift.  

PGB (1,0) 1st McGuinness & Nelson’s Dinahtron Honey Ryder Pleasing profile & correct for balance.  Small head with pleasing expression from her dark eyes, well placed ears & blunt muzzle.  Sturdy body, short neck & strong topline to high set tail that is well carried.  Straight front to small feet.  Presented in correct harsh coat, she moved well with front lift.

LB (1,0) 1st McGuinness & Nelson’s Dinahtron Lily Savage  Litter sister to PGB winner & very similar in many ways, she also appeals for expression & type. Correct profile when stacked, her sister had the better movement today.  Presented in excellent condition with harsh coat.

OB (5,1) 1st Hick’s Ch Datiro Gibbontake Appealing feminine head with classic monkey expression. Domed skull, enough stop, dark round eyes.  Short neck, correct in front, neat small feet.  Firm topline to high set tail which never stopped wagging. Moderate rear angulation. Balanced all through. Correct harsh coat texture. Impressive both on the stack & on the move being very sound with front lift. Delighted to award her BCC

2nd Price & McGroarty’s Afterglow Nora Batty Of Kircyan Another very typical bitch with a beautiful feminine expression.  She is well made with a pleasing outline, short neck, firm topline to high set tail. I preferred front construction of first.  Sound on the move with front lift.
