Three Counties Agricultural Society

Breed: Japanese Shiba Inu

Three Counties Championship Show 7th June 2025. Held at Three Counties Show Ground Malvern.

Thank you to the committee for their kind invitation. The day’s weather was forecast to be mixed, so we needed to get on in the lovely-sized outside rings.

Japanese Shiba Inu

A general observation movement was a little untidy.

PD 2-0 1. Vormund King for A Day (Miss M Dunhill-Hall) – Pleasing masculine youngster with small ears set just below his crown and inclining slightly forwards, dark almond-shaped eyes. His neck was of medium length; his chest had enough depth for his age and reached nicely back to a short, muscular loin. Strong topline held on the move, finished with a high set tail carried in a curled position.

2. Vormund Heavy Is The Crown (Miss M Dunhill-Hall) – litter brother to one in equally good condition, although appears a little shorter in loin, making him look squarer. Moderate hind angulation and low hocks to tight, well-knuckled feet. He was in super coat of rich red and correct markings.

JrD 1. Vormund Ken Kanekii (Miss M Dunhill-Hall) PGroup 1. PD – Lots to like about this young boy who is slightly older than his kennel mates. He makes a good outline on the stack, with good height to length and balance of head to body. He had breed typical head of a blunt triangle and a broad skull, well-defined stop, and ample length to muzzle. His neck was thick and muscular, and his chest was nicely filled with good markings. His brisket was deep, and ribs had enough spring. His hind legs were in good muscular condition with plenty of width to thighs. Moved at a reasonable speed. BPIB RCC

GD 1. Vormund Mega Man at Brackreef (Miss K & Mrs C & Miss M Capps & Capps & Dunhill-Hall) - He was balanced in height to length with a pleasing masculine head and the darkest of almond eyes. Strong, thick neck and straight legs. His pasterns could be a little stronger and feet a little tighter. His chest was full with good markings. Firm topline finished with a high set tail nicely curled.

LD 3-0 1. Bearpark Action Stations (Mr R G & Mrs I M Hernandez) – A dog of substance and balance. Good head with foxy expression, dark well well-shaped eyes, high-set ears inclining forwards, his neck line flows into his topline. Ample depth of brisket and nicely sprung ribs to a short loin. In sound condition all through.

2. Tapena Go Giyu Shin (Mr M A & Mrs S T Law) – Slightly taller than long. His head was masculine with ample stop, clean black lips, and a short, muscular neck. His topline was muscular and firm with a flexible loin. Not as clean on the move.

3. Jarshimar Baz’s Bear (Mr J Greenwood)

OD 4-1 1. Bearpark Galicia (Mrs A Fitzakerly) – a Mature male of good proportions, giving a balanced outline and not overdone in any way. His head and expression gave a bright and alert appearance. Muscular neck and ample fill to his chest, which had the correct markings; his ribs reached nicely to his elbows with ample spring to them. His loin was muscular and short; he held his tail curled, and on the move, he had an energetic stride. DCC

2. Ch Vormund Xmas Bonus (Miss M Dunhill-Hall) – A 4-year-old red who was in full coat today. Broad skull with well-filled cheeks. I preferred the expression of 1 today, nicely filled chest and well boned legs to knuckled feet, which were tight and firm. His hind legs were muscular with width to thighs and enough bend of stifle.

3. Jarshimar Baz’s Bear (Mr J Greenwood)

PB 2-1 1. Kaytoni Who's That Girl (Mrs K Brennan) – Another exciting puppy who was hard pushed against the puppy dog. She had a lovely, appealing expression from her dark, keen almond shaped eyes, her skull to muzzle was balanced with a clean, marked stop, and nicely filled cheeks. Her neck was slightly arched and muscular. Her legs had strong bone to tight, catlike feet. Her topline was strong, and her underline had a moderate tuck-up. She was clean and light on the move. PB.

JB 1-1

GB 1. Jarshimar Myer Watashi (Mrs R Greenwood) – Another girl with a feminine expression. Her small, well-set ears followed the line of her medium-length neck. With ample bone in her legs. Her chest and depth of ribs were good to her elbows. Her topline was not as firm and a little long in loin.

LB 5-2 1. Bearpark Candy (Mrs A Fitzakerly) – A nicely sized girl of 2yrs. Full of femininity, from her fox-like head with nicely developed cheeks, defined stop, and slight furrow. Her neck was of medium length, muscular and strong. Her topline was strong and finished with her high-set tail, which she carried well. She had moderate hind angulation with lovely short hocks.

2. Bearpark Femme Fatale (Mr R G & Mrs I M Hernandez) – This young girl has plenty of substance and balance. Her ribs are moderately sprung, a firm top-line, high-set tail, matching bone to substance. Her feet were tight and catlike, and her coat was full with appropriate markings. I preferred the femininity of one.

3. Rahima in Your Dream’s (Ms J & Mrs B Armstrong & Roskell)

OB 5-2 1. Ch Vormund Java Home Brew (Miss M Dunhill-Hall) – 2yr old. Red sesame. Her head held correct proportions with a broad skull and high-set ears tilting slightly forwards, her neck was muscular with a slight arch, her shoulders were laid well, and her chest was well filled. Straight, nicely boned legs to firm, tight feet, which were well knuckled, and her elbows were well tucked in. Her topline was firm and muscular, and she had broad width to her thighs with a slight bend of stifle. She moved with energy, covering the ground. To top everything off, she was in super coat condition BCC BoB

2. Ch Vormund Vivienne Westwood (Miss M Dunhill-Hall) – A quality girl who made my decision harder. She was from the same kennel but slightly different breeding, one of the few big kennels left these days. She was full of breed type with dark almond-shaped eyes and a delightful expression. Her neck flowed from the slightly inclined forward ears and a suitable arch. On the stack, her chest was full, and her ribs had moderate spring to them. Her short, muscular loin. I was nitpicking between these; I didn’t feel she had the same energy today. RCC

3. Tapena Yamamoto Nadesshiko (Miss C Roskell)

VB 1. Marilouvales Queen Elsa VW (Miss K J Capps) – This mature veteran girl was giving her handler a hard time. She was suitably balanced with all the typical markings, having a dense undercoat and harsh outer coat. She had plenty of bone and kept in excellent condition. to finish the picture she had good tight feet. BV
