NATIONAL GUNDOG August 2025 – Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla
Veteran Dog (1)
1ST Spillane Belatarr Jupiter
A very solid and well constructed dog, excellent bone and substance, he is well up for height but retains his balance throughout. He has a classic head, all male yet without coarseness. Shown in excellent harsh coat and he moves out on a free flowing stride in tandem with his handler. Just carrying extra weight but otherwise in super condition for his eight years.
Puppy Dog (1)
1st Busby Dolgos-Nimrod Vadasz for Starshot (Imp Hun)
Pleasing in head with furnishing coming through well. He has a balanced outline with correct shoulders and enough body length, well angulated behind and correct tailset. He made me smile, thoroughly enjoying himself and the more he moved the better he settled. A worthy Best Puppy.
Junior Dog (1)
1ST Upton King Fox to Tragus
A smart young dog with lots of promise about him. He is full of breed type and of a moderate size. Super head of correct proportions, good eye colour and a keen bright expression. He has a solid front assembly and correct turn of stifle with body depth developing well and adequate bone. Just needs to tighten up in movement, but lots of time on his side for this, should a have a bright future.
Post Graduate Dog (2)
1ST Moss Ewtor Blue Moon
A well balanced dog with a most appealing head, ample furnishings and has a kind alert expression. He has correct body proportions with a balanced height to length ratio and is well angulated both fore and aft. He has adequate depth to chest and is well ribbed. His coat is of attractive colour and texture but needs to develop further to finish the picture. Came into his own on the move covering the ground well with correct tail and head carriage. Res CC
2ND Ridgway Zoldmali Hunter Saman
I found this sturdy young dog very well made throughout, well off for bone and substance and has a super coat of correct wire texture and a good undercoat. He is very strong in head with skull rather broad, correct eye colour and attractive furnishings. He moved out well on good stride driving well off strong hocks. Presented in tip top muscular condition.
Limit Dog (4)
1st West Junetta Erno
This class was a very diverse trio of dogs, each with different strengths. My first place was a medium sized dog of pleasing type, he is balanced throughout and presents a neat outline with nothing exaggerated and could be easily overlooked. He has a well shaped skull, I would prefer more foreface, kind eye. Correct forehand with tight elbows and enough rear angulation. Stands on compact neat feet and strong hocks, a sound efficient mover.
2nd Campbell Haywire Texana Vadasz
This dog possesses a well-proportioned masculine head with appealing dark eye colour. He displays strength through the neck, a correct sturdy front assembly, adequate bone and substance, with a robust overall build. While his angles are not as balanced in profile as the class winner, he demonstrated sound movement with a good stride and was presented in excellent coat and muscular condition.

Open Dog (4)
1st Spillane Sh Ch Belatarr Kodiak
A well-built, proportionate dog with excellent bone and substance. Attractive masculine head, eye colour matching his russet harsh jacket with a good undercoat. Well muscled shoulders and correct straight front, well developed in chest and firm level topline. He has moderate rear angulation strong loin and correct tailset. One of the best movers today with a steady ground covering gait and powerful rear driving action. Shows great teamwork with his handler and was a deserving CC winner and my BOB. Well done
2nd Beardshall Karndor Tamas
A dog I have often admired from the ringside. He is very appealing in outline, with super balance and complementary angles both fore and aft. Loved his correctly shaped head with attractive furnishings and his keen intelligent expression. He is well ribbed with adequate body depth and has a firm level back with correct slope over croup. Brought him back in to challenge for Res CC but not as strong in rear movement as the Post Grad dog.

Special Beginners D/B (1)
1st Le Mesurier Brynffrwd Saint Gwenafwy
This bitch has a pretty and feminine head with sweet expression, she is too finely made throughout and would benefit from better body condition. She did however move out with a confident gait and was thoroughly enjoying her day.
Veteran Bitch (3)
1st Upton Sh Ch Tragus Honey Bee
A super headed bitch with lovely expression and good eye colour. She is a pleasing medium size and moderate throughout. In profile she presents a very balanced outline with correct front and rear angulation and retains excellent shape and condition for her age. I particularly liked her coat colour with correct texture. A very worth Show Champion of the breed and my Best Veteran.
2nd Nokes Hosokter Tisza at Goldpaw
Another pleasing veteran, in great condition approaching her eleven years. She has a typical expression and is very feminine. She is a taller made bitch than my winner but still balanced throughout when stacked. Soundest of movers with a good stride and correct topline and tailset. Her fitness and condition are a credit to her owner.
3rd 373 - Brynffrwd Penarddun (Mrs J Le Mesurier)
Junior Bitch (1)
1st Dicker Zoldmali Hunter Vica of Zoltarous
This youngster is of a lovely size and well constructed throughout with nothing exaggerated about her. She has correct shoulder lay and good turn of stifle and the right amount of bone. Very pleasing in head, with good furnishings enough stop and has a flowing neck and solid topline. She has a correct wire coat of attractive colour, disappointingly she drops her head when moving, which impacts her topline and rear movement.
Novice Bitch (1)
1st Brynffrwd Saint Gwenafwy (repeat)
Limit Bitch (4)
1st West Junetta Emilia
Very pleasing in head with correct eye and expression and well set ears. She is well ribbed, with enough depth and correct level back. She stood out in this class for her appealing outline, built on very clean lines and when going over her she impressed me with her overall sound construction and balance. Liked her colour and had correct coat texture, a close contender for Res CC but disappointingly holding her tail down in the run off.
2nd Pryer Fradaikee Private Dancer
A lighter coloured most attractive bitch who presents a super balanced outline when stacked. Classic feminine head with good furnishings and kind eye of correct shape. She has well laid shoulders with adequate upperarm and a strong straight front, firm topline and the right amount of rear angulation. Moved out with drive and purpose just hindered by a high tail carriage.
3rd Hope-Cliffe & Hope-Ellershaw Redrafi Pacha Galvikki
Open Bitch (5)
1st Richardson Sh Ch Tragus Flirty Fox
A quality medium sized elegant bitch who is so feminine throughout with a most appealing head of correct proportions, kind dark eye and cheeky expression. She has an excellent front assembly with elbows tight in, excellent return of upperarm, and a firm level back with correct rear angulation. When stacked she is so balanced in outline and wears a lovely wire jacket of attractive colour. A little overweight today but her many virtues allowed me to overlook this. She was my best mover of the day holding her topline well and moved with a flowing free gait and a happy wagging tail. Pleased to award her the CC.
2nd Cooper Sh Ch Deifstock Dare to Dream JW
Of a different type to my winner, not as feminine yet superbly constructed with good bone and substance. She has an appealing head shape with dark eye and enough stop. I would perhaps prefer more head furnishings. Her strong front assembly, clean neck, solid loin, and muscular hindquarters with correct tail set are all notable. She has a correct wire coat of an attractive russet colour. Moved out soundly with good rear drive. She is still a youngster and in my opinion not yet the finished article and I expect there is lots more to come from her. Res CC
