Today at Leeds the Pekingese were third in the ring after the Smoothcoat Chihuahua’s and the Japanese chins, I did have to rearrange the ring, as the heat of the day meant that as soon as the exhibits came out of the in out ring, the wall of heat that greeted the humans was unbearable never mind the dogs. The saying that only English men go out in the mid day sun was most apt as it was really, really warm, by the end of the day I was struggling with the overwhelming heat.

Class 1723 SBD/B (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 3864 GLOVER, Miss Joanne Rickenny's Oliver Tobias – The first class of the breed this baby puppy , was a little overwhelmed by the heat, he is a nice size for his age, he has a dark eye, lovely open nostrils wouldn’t want any more overwrinkle, his ears are well placed framing his head he has a nice body for his age with a nice waist, his coat is correct for his age, once he settled he moved ok, just needs time.

1st: 3871 MORLEY, Miss E Londer Black Infinity At Lizlanmor – A very smart black puppy, he was not fazed by the heat. He is another that has such a happy disposition, he certainly wants to please. As with any black one needs to take the time to appreciate the finer points, on the table he has a really super head and expression, correct dark round eyes, his nostrils are open with a just the right amount of overwrinkle. His expression is endearing, he has a flat skull, with well placed ears framing his head with nice fringing for his age. He has the correct neck leading into well laid back shoulders, his front is correct with nice width to his chest, his topline is straight, correct ribs, with nice waist, giving the correct pair shape one requires. His rear angulation is correct with good muscle tone. Picking up he is deceptively heavy. He carries himself so well keeping a tidy shape on the move, he has the correct dignified roll.

Class 1725 JD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 3859 COCKSHOTT, Mrs Laura Livanda Valetto – Reserve Dog CC, this youngster has so much attitude, he came into the ring with a spring in his step, just loved this outgoingness that he has. He carries himself so well, I loved his size, he is an ideal sized well balanced male, with a most beautiful head and expression has a lovely melting expression, with dark round eyes. His nostrils are open, he has the correct flat skull, with correct ear placement with nice ear fringing framing his head, he has a relatively short neck leading into well laid back shoulders, his front is typical for the breed with elbows tucked to chest, he has a lovely broad chest with nice spring of rib. He has a distinct waist. He has strong hindquarters with moderate angulation, correct topline, he has good tailset with correct carriage, he has a lovely coat immaculately presented. On the move he has the correct characteristic roll without exaggeration

Class 1727 LD (5 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: 3868 LUND, Miss S Yakee The Sun God With Magnetizzam – This smart red sable male, has a masculine head, with a good dark round eye, he has the correct overwrinkle one expects. His nostrils are open, he has a good skull with well placed ears with beautiful fringing giving a nice frame to his head. He has the correct neck with nice shaped front, good width to his chest his elbows are tucked tight to his chest, his ribs are deep moving to a narrower waist, he has good rear angulation with nice muscle, showing that he gets plenty of exercise, he lifts deceptively heavy, slightly longer in body he has the correct coat, with well placed tailset and carriage, he has the typical roll one wants in the breed.

2nd: 3872 MORLEY, Miss E Klerkshof Red Rum At Lizlanmor – compact red fawn, male he has a lovely dark round eye, his nostril are open, wouldn’t want any more of an overwrinkle, his ears are correctly set framing his flat skull, he has lovely ear fringing, he has the correct length of neck one requires, with a good front, he has a broad deep chest, his elbows are close to his chest, he picks up heavy, he has a good defined waist, his tailset and carriage and rear is correct with good muscle, he is in beautiful condition presented to perfection.

Class 1728 OD (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 3870 MORLEY, Miss E Klerkshof We Will Rock You At Lizlanmor – This young man certainly screams breed type, I have to say that he never stopped showing, as he entered the ring he draws your attention, he size and shape is ideal, he has such a beautiful head that is still male, he has the correct round dark eye, with good open nostril, his overwrinkle is ideal, he has a flat skull, framed by well placed ears, his ear fringing frame his head, he has the correct neck, his front is correct with the right amount of bone, his elbows are tight to his chest, the chest is deep and broad leading into a nice waist, he rear is well muscled, his tailset and carriage at correct, picking him up he is definitely deceptive for weight, he out shown in movement today, he carries himself so well, keeping a compact shape on the move. He is presented to perfection, but as I was taught it is what is under that coat that is important. Just lost out to his kennel mate for further honours today - Dog CC

2nd: 3867 LEONARD, Mr Andrew Ch Lizlanmor King Of Diamonds – This deserved champion, screems quality, for me today he lost out to one just on his movement, he seemed to want to bunny hop over the grass, I did give him plenty of chance to settle but he seemed to want to defy his handler today. He is such a smart male, with a typical head, he has a nice round dark eye, good open nostrils, correct overwrinkle, he has a flat skull framed by well placed ears, with lovely fringing framing his head. He has the correct neck, with good front his bone is correct, he has a nice waist, his rear is well developed with good muscle, his tail is set correctly and carried well over back, he is presented in immaculate condition, on the move he was a little erraticon the rear, lost the elegance one expects in the breed.

1st: 3874 OADES, Mrs B Swaggerboot Girl Power By Brentoy – I loved this young lady, she is so feminine, she has so much personality, she has a really pretty head, she has a nice dark round expressive eye, correct open nostrils, with good overwrinkle, she has a the correct flat skull, her ears frame her head, she has the right amount of neck, her front is correct, with elbows close to her chest, she has a good chest for her age, she has the typical waist on expects, she has good rear angulation, he tailset is correct, she is compact, she has a good coat for her age, she picks up heavy when you consider her compactness, she carries herself so well, with the correct roll one expects, she is certainly a star in the making, Res CC & Best Puppy In Breed

2nd: 3863 DRISCOLL, Ms J & ALDRED, Miss M Rickenny's Sweetpea _ sweet young bitch, found her a bit fuller in eye, her nostrils are open with a good overwrinkle, her ears are well placed and frame her skull, she lacking in chest at this moment but this may come with age, her front is correct, slight gap between front legs and chest, she has a waist, correct rear angulation, she moved ok, not as compact as one.

1st: 3875 O’DONNELL, Miss Audrey Yakee Mademoiselle At Chiachi – A pretty young bitch, she has a dark round eye, her nostrils are open, her overwrinkle is correct, her ears are well placed framing her head, with just enough fringing, her neck is correct, she has good front with nice bone, she has a really broad chest and is substantial, so well she is picked up she is definitely deceptively heavy, nice waist, her rear is correct, she carries herself well with a typical roll, nice profile, presented in lovely coat .

1st: 3861 DRISCOLL, Ms J & ALDRED, Miss M Rickennys Shelby – This young bitch was rushed into the ring and I think both her and her handler were not as prepared as they could have been, She is a nice size for a bitch, she is a little bit fuller in eye, but they are dark and round, her nostrils are open, she has an overwrinkle, her ears frame her head, she has a good body and chesy with the correct waist, she does pick up heavy, lacking in presentation today, she does move correctly when she settled.

1st: 3869 MORLEY, Miss E Ch Lizlanmor Essence Of Pearl JW – My star of the day, she out showed her kennel mate to take Best of Breed. I wrote that she is feminine, she has a most appealing head and expression without being overdone, She has the most appealing dark round eye, her nostrils are open with the correct overwrinkle, she has a flat skull. Her ears are well placed, framing her head, with exceptional fringing, she has the correct amount of neck, her front is ideal, with nice bone, her elbows are tucked close to her chest, her chest in wide and deep, she has a good waist, on picking her up she is deceptively heavy, her rear is ideal with beautiful muscle, her tailset and carriage is correct on the move she has the typical roll one expects without exaggeration, she carries herself so well in profile keeping her compactness at all times, she is presented in lovely coat, its is always harder to keep a bitch in coat especially during the summer so it is a credit to her owner, Bitch CC & Best Of Breed.
