Blackpool & District Canine Society

It was a few years since I last awarded CCs in Rottweilers in the UK, so I was looking forward to this appointment. 

Having owned the breed for nearly 40years I always enjoy judging them.

I had a good entry by today's standards & I thank the exhibitors for their manners & gracious acceptance of their placings . There was a lovely friendly atmosphere around the ring.

I had an excellent steward Kath Mc Intyre who had her work cut out trying to keep the paperwork in place, the weather wasn't playing ball with us, so thank you for all your help.

Some observations that in my opinion needs to be addressed & should be considered in future breeding plans going forward.

I found a lot of soft toplines & the other one is brown nose  pigment  (The nose should always be black) regardless of the time of year. I was also dissappointed to see some dog's in very soft condition. Having said that the temperaments were excellent & the overall type is very good.

A very nice head with good proportions,  dark eye, correct bite & very good mouth pigment. Strong neck with good lay back of shoulder. Good topline for his age. Nice bone with excellent feet,  great tail set. He moved out well & sound coming & going. 

2nd 5072 Taneven Dutch

Litter brother to 1. Very nice head with good proportions.  Dark eye . Correct bite. Strong neck , topline a little high at the rump but I'm sure this will improve as he grows. Good feet & excellent markings. Correct tail set.. He moves out well , he just needs to settle a bit more.

Very nice head with good proportions. Dark eye. Correct bite with dark mouth pigment. Well placed ears. Good strong neck with excellent top & underline. Well set tail, good bone & lovely markings.  Good spring of rib, nice front and rear angulation.  Pasterns a bit loose coming towards you. Moved with goid reach and drive. 

2nd 5066 JAVADARE MR BOMBASTIC

Nice head & expression. Correct bite , mouth pigment could be better. Well placed ears . Strong neck with good top and under line. Good bone with nice markings. Moderate front & rear angulation.  Good spring of rib. Would like more reach & drive, very sound coming & going.

Lovely head with correct bite & good mouth pigment. Dark well shaped eyes with neat well placed ears. Strong neck , excellent top & underline. Good tail set. Nice bone & good feet. Nice forechest with excellent length of upper arm,  good rear angulation.  Moves out well maintaining his outline.  He is just a little loose in pasterns coming towards you.

2nd 5048 CORNERPIX IN THE GHETTO.

Nice head of correct proportions.  Correct bite and dentition with good mouth pigment. Well placed ears.  Dark eyes. Strong neck of good length on to well placed shoulders and level top line.  Good tail set.  Nice bone with good spring of rib.  Nice front and rear angulation.  Moves with reach and drive,  a little close behind going away, tends to turn front feet out.

Excellent typical head of good proportions.  Very clean outline. Correct bite and dentition with excellent pigmentation.  Darkest of eyes & well placed ears. Strong neck with excellent top & underline.  Nice front and rear angulation with good spring of rib.  Good markings , nice bone, correct tail set. Moves with great reach and drive,  maintaining his outline.  Very sound coming and going.  Delighted to award him the RES CC

Nice forechest with excellent length of upper arm.  Nice bone with good feet. Moved with good reach and drive,  topline a little soft on the move.

2nd 5069 BEREYDA THE REAL DEFENDER 

Very nice outline , with strong head. Correct bite and dentition with good pigmentation. Dark eyes but eye rims a bit loose.  Strong neck , good front and rear angulation.  Great tail set. Moves out well maintaining his outline with excellent tail carriage. Sound coming & going.

A very striking dog that demands attention as soon as he hits the ring. Excellent head of good proportions . Darkest of eyes with well placed ears.  Correct bite and dentition with excellent pigmentation. Good front and rear angulation,  good spring of rib.  Excellent reach of neck onto well placed shoulders and level top line. Very good bone , good feet, nice markings. He comes into his own on the move,  covering the ground with ease,  super reach and drive & very sound coming & going . Very well handled & in top show condition . I was very happy to award him the CC & BOB.

2nd 5088 CH /SERB CH KING KICK POWER 

Another very nice dog of excellent type and balance. A cracking head & expression.  Correct bite and dentition with excellent pigmentation. Well paced ears. Strong neck of good length on to well placed shoulders and level top line. Nice spring of rib,  good forechest with excellent length of upper arm.  Excellent bone . Correct tail set. Moves out well with very good reach and drive,  just needs to settle a bit more. Feet are a little flat. He is all male & it is obvious he wants to please, I would just like to see  him in harder show condition.

Once she settled she covered the ground with ease whilst maintaining an excellent outline.  Very sound coming and going.  I was delighted to award her the CC & res Best of Breed.

Excellent front and rear angulation.  Sound coming and going & moved with good reach and drive covering the ground with ease. She pushed hard in the challenge.  RES CC
