Blackpool & District Canine Society

This is an appointment I have being looking forward to for some time. Although I have judged the breed in many countries all over the world it was my first appointment for UK CCs.

I have had the breed since 1986 & as an exhibitor I have had great success & always enjoyed my many trips across the Irish sea to compete in the UK at the top level.

On arriving at the show my day started out quite distressing but that story is for another day.

I had an excellent entry & it was also lovely to see some overseas exhibitors from Italy/Spain & Ireland as well as UK exhibitors.

The overall quality was excellent & I was left with some very difficult decisions to make. I am happy to report I found no mouth faults, very few with tight tails and super temperaments.

My dog CC had travelled from Italy

IT Champion (Samarcanda Born to Be King) what a beautiful dog in super condition who just excelled on the move. My RES CC Dog came from the Yearling class (Niaveera See What Lies Ahead) another quality dog.

BITCH CC made the journey from Spain (SP Ch Del Besaya Viento Del Norte) & is something special for sure & everything I want in a Poodle, she has that glint in her eye that makes you wonder what she will do next. I loved her. A super showdog that any breeder would be proud of. This I believe was her 3rd CC. I was also happy to award her BOB. Res CC bitch (Ch Volgarus consider the Lily) a cracking girl with excellent type & in beautiful condition, very sound & very well handled.

A big shout out to my two wonderful stewards Sheena O Neill & Judith Catlow.

Another nice young dog, with excellent head & good chiselling, nice chin, dark eye, Very good backskull. Good reach of neck, very good front & rear angulation & moves with excellent reach & drive. Good  spring of rib. Good tail set but carries it a bit high. Coat in excellent condition. Very nice feet.

Very nice well chiselled head with dark eye & good chin. Good reach of neck & good spring of rib. Excellent front & rear angulation moved effortlessly with reach & drive covering the ground well. Excellent coat texture, great tail set & lovely feet. A very nice young dog & I was happy to award him the RES CC.

2nd 1399 Royaldeniz Superwolverine

Nice white dog with good head & expression. A little strong in backskull. Nice dark eye with good reach of neck. Nice spring of rib with good front & rear angulation which enables him to move with good reach & drive. Very good feet & excellent tail set.

 Brown dog with nice head & good eye shape & colour. Nice reach of neck. Good front & rear angulation. Nice spring of rib with excellent feet. Very good coat, good tail set but slight curl on the end of the tail. Moves out well with good reach and drive.

Very impressive dog of good size. Beautiful well chiselled head with good chin. Excellent eye shape and colour. Very good reach of neck with good spring of rib. Perfect tail set & very good feet. This dog comes into his own on the move & excels in reach & drive covering the ground effortlessly.  He has excellent coat texture & is shown in immaculate condition. I was very happy to award him the dog CC.

2nd 1408 Ch Magin The Great Escape.

Slightly smaller than 1st, a really nice dog with a beautiful head & expression. Darkest of eyes and good chin. Very good reach of neck, with good spring of rib. Excellent coat texture but I would like a little more off. Excellent tàil set, with lovely feet. Very good front & rear angulation moves out covering the ground with ease.

Nice spring of rib. Good reach of neck & excellent tail set. Lovely feet. Excellent mover covering the ground with ease, very pleased to award him best veteran in breed.

Another lovely 8Years old dog in excellent condition. Very good head & chin with dark eye. Nice reach of neck with excellent coat texture. Nice front and rear angulation,  moved with correct reach and drive. Good tail set & very good feet.

Very much a baby with an exquisite head & expression, with good chin & the darkest of eyes. Good reach of neck, nice spring of rib with excellent tail carriage.  Very nice feet, & even at this young age is showing a very Poodly attitude. I was very happy to award her Best Puppy in Breed.

2nd 1384 Celmareva Wicked  Dream. 

A nice white puppy with a pleasing head. Enough reach of neck. A little straight in shoulder which is causing her to high step coming towards you. Good rear angulation. Tail is a bit short. Nice feet and sound movement coming & going.

What a super Poodle . I have judged this girl before in Spain & awarded her Best in Show at an all breed championship show, so I was very happy to see she travelled from Spain for my opinion in the breed ring. This girl comes into the ring & demands attention, with that naughty look in her eye & she is so full of Poodle attitude. Exquisite head with lovely chiselling & excellent chin. Very good reach of neck onto well placed shoulders. Correct length of leg, with excellent front and rear angulation, moved with powerful reach and drive. Lovely feet. Perfect tail set. On the move this girl excels keeping her handler on his toes. I just loved her attitude,  I was very happy to award her the Bitch CC & BOB. I believe this was her 3rd CC. A worthy champion in any country. Presented to perfection & expertly handled.

A beautiful head & expression with the darkest of eyes & good chin. Good reach of neck onto well placed shoulders with good front & rear angulation. Nice spring of rib,  excellent tail carriage, very good feet. Beautiful coat in excellent condition. Moved effortlessly around the ring with good reach & drive. A very nice girl who was unlucky to come up against the class winner. Res CC.
