Breed: Hungarian Wire Haired Vizsla

Hungarian Wire-haired Vizsla A joy to judge this very special breed, thanks to the exhibitors for coping with the weather conditions from heavy rain to very warm sunshine.  Special thanks to the stewards especially for their valiant efforts keeping the paperwork dry in the inclement weather. So good to see coats continue to be the correct texture and length, all bites were correct.  The size, both height and level of bone varied considerably.  Tail carriage could be better with some having incorrect set, leading to very high carriage. One area I must comment on is many handlers over stretch the hind quarters, which leads to the moderate angulation of the stifle being lost, your HWV have correct rear angulation so ensure you stand them to show it.  I do know how easy it is to over stretch the dogs as I am guilty of sometimes doing it to my own, so I do have sympathy! The bitches in particular, have a good depth in quality with many who will have good futures ahead of them. PD (1,0) 1st Voroslang Harris Gold (Dr J Allison) -  11mth very much at the leggy stage, needing his chest to drop and was a little erratic on the move, but not unexpected for his age.  Like his head and furnishings, his eye needs to continue to darken.  Would prefer a little more angulation to his shoulders in order to balance his lovely rear.  Shown in good coat.  Nice reach and drive on the move which will improve with maturity. BPIB  JD (1,0) 1st  Redrafi Mutai with Noreaster (Mrs M Hamilton) – this 14mth old is sure to have a good future ahead of him.  Beautifully balanced stood and on the move.  Liked his size and bone giving a picture of a male but in no way coarse. Head of correct proportions, eye in harmony to his coat colour and with lovely furnishings.  Nice depth to his chest.  Neck flowed into correctly angulated shoulders.  Ribs well back, short coupled and nicely angulated rear.  Lovely reach and drive on the move.  Pleased to award him RDCC and he was very close to the CC, maturity won on the day but only just. PGD (3,1) 1st - Lanspar Zsolt (Mr T & Miss N & Mrs J Pearson & Hunt & Pearson) – 2yr shown with correct textured coat and a beautiful russet colour.  A smaller stature male with a lovely head, correctly proportioned, good eye colour and furnishings.  Presented a lovely balanced picture stood, with good body proportions, balanced front and rear angulation.  Chest down, nice tight feet and good slightly sloping pasterns.  His ribs are well back, short coupled.  Has reach and drive on the move but just a little erratic all round. 2nd  Mr Rhett Gable Butler (Dr J Allison) – 3 yr taller, leggier and longer cast than 1st.  Shown in good coat and furnishings.  Lovely head with correct proportions and eye colour. Balanced in his angulation.  Would prefer if he had a lower tail carriage on the move.  Like 1st he was also erratic on the move. LD (2,0) 1st Junetta Erno (Mrs A J West) – 2yr presented a picture of balance stood and on the move.  Lovely in the head.  Would prefer more angulation in the front to balance his super rear stifle.  Super coat texture.  Nice depth to his chest, ribs well back.  Nice reach to his movement, super tail carriage, just a little wide going away but presented a nice side gait. 2nd - Zoldmali Daru at Genlusa (Imp Srb) (Mrs D Wearing) – 3yr with similar qualities to 1st.  Lovely coat and texture, liked his head and furnishings.  Liked his bone.  Nice depth to his chest, ribs well back.  The opposite to 1st in I preferred his front angulation but not quite as balanced in the rear which showed in his movement with not quite as much drive. OD (3,0) A lovely class with very close decisions.  1st  Sh Ch Belatarr Kodiak (Mr D & Mrs J Spillane) – he is a little too tall for me however it is not possible to ignore his breed type, balanced front and rear angulation, super head and furnishings, correct coat texture and picture he presents both stood and on the move.  His chest is well down, nice bone and slight slope to his pasterns.  Super well sprung ribs, well back and strong loin with short couplings.  He uses his correct front and rear angulation to achieve good reach and drive, presenting a super outline in his side gait.  Maturity and movement won him the DCC.  2nd - Zoldmali Ezmi (Imp Srb) (Mrs A L Tasker) – preferred the overall size of him, shared so many qualities with 1st.  Another with correct coat colour, texture and furnishings.  Lovely in the head, deep chested through to balanced front and rear angulation but just preferred the overall balance of the winner.  Ribs well back, strong in the loin.  Correct slope to his pasterns, nice on the move with a good side profile.  Close decision for the RCC, the younger, junior dog pipped him. 3rd Sh Ch Ewtor Barking at the Moon JW VD (2,0) 1st - Fitzrovia Gone with The Wind (Dr J Allison) Lovely class of veterans, but 2 very differing types. 7yr old smaller stature than 2nd with less bone but has a lovely coat and colour, super head and furnishings.  Balanced in his angulation but would prefer him to be deeper in the chest so his elbows were a little tighter in.  Strong in the loin and couplings which he used well on the move and presented a stronger movement than 2nd.  BVIB 2nd Belatarr Jupiter (Mr D & Mrs J Spillane) – 8 yr heavier set than 1st.  Similar qualities, lovely coat of correct texture and a good colour.  Preferred the shoulder angulation and movement of the winner. PB (0), JB 1st - Kenleap Golden Girl (Mrs G & Mr Dp Withington) 18mth – young bitch with a lovely colour and in good coat.  Feminine in the head, has good front angulation but would prefer more length to the upper arm.  Good stifle and rear angulated.  She needs to mature all round and will continue to come on.  Nice on the move.  Needs to muscle up to present a cleaner outline.  PGB (3,0) 1st Kisdon Insignia (Mrs P Edminson) – 2yr super bitch who should have a good future.  Just pipped for the RCC by the OB but a close decision.  Presented a lovely balanced outline stood and on the move.  Full of breed type, her lovely head furnishings gave the square appearance.  Clean in the neck, deep chested and good front angulation with a super length of upper arm.  Liked her bone.  Well sprung in the ribs, strong loin and short coupled leading to lovely rear angulation to balance her front.  Very good on the move with reach and drive.  2nd - Lanspar Zendaya (Mr T & Miss N & Mrs J Pearson & Hunt & Pearson) – 2yr old the sister to the PGD winner and actually presents a more mature picture than him.  Smaller in stature than 1st but has many similar qualities.  Super coat and lovely deep russet colour, feminine in the head with lovely furnishings.  Has good front and rear angulation which she used well on the move with drive and reach.   Not quite the depth of chest as the winner. Ribs well back, strong in her loin and short coupled.  Has a tendency to drop her head on the move which upsets her beautiful outline and side gait.  3rd Miadsc Tropical Fizz at Kitrage (Miss K & Mrs T Bryan) LB (5,0) A super class. 1st  Bardantop Witchway Benmorbry (Mrs S M & Mrs C Connolly & Guest) – 4yr super compact, balanced, feminine, bitch, presented a super outline stood and on the move.  Good coat colour and texture, lovely muscle tone and condition.  Pretty correct head with lovely furnishings and super eye colour, super front and rear angulation.  Good depth of chest, tight elbows, slight slope to her pasterns.  Ribs well back, super strong in the back and loin.  Correct tail set and carriage. Balanced front and rear angulation. On the move she was tidy out and back, lovely in the side profile and presented good front reach from well driven hindquarters. Pleased to award her BCC and BOB 2nd Hazean Donetsk to Deifstock (IKC) JW (Mr W & Mrs S Cooper) 3yr with very similar qualities to the winner, the difference was just not the reach and drive on the move which made the difference on the day. 3rd  Deifstock Dare to Dream JW (Mr W & Mrs S Cooper) OB Yet another lovely class all of which were full of breed type so not easy decision making! I subsequently found out they were all related which did not come as a surprise, and all well deserved champions. 1st Sh Ch Enryb Lily The Pink (Mr L L Lewis) – 3yr, the best mover of the class which paid dividends for her to be placed 1st.  Slightly taller stature than others but presented a balanced outline stood and on the move.  Beautiful deep russet colour and coat, shown in very good condition.  Super dark eye, feminine in the head with lovely furnishings.  I liked how her neck flowed through to good front angulation.  Deep in the chest, good bone, sloping pasterns.  Well sprung ribs and strong loin, although I feel she could be a tad shorter coupled. Good in the stifle to balance her front.  Has a lovely ground covering stride with front read and drive.  Pleased to award her RCC, just pipped by the LB who I felt presented a more compact overall picture of HWV. 2nd Sh Ch Enryb Skye Blue (J Elders) – 4 yr heavier boned than 1st but that does not mean coarse or lacking feminity, she is neither.  Very similar qualities to 1st just not quite as strong on the move.  Has a super head with lovely furnishings, good coat of correct texture.  Balanced in angulation. 3rd Sh Ch Enryb Tickled Pink JW (Ms D  E Loynd) Such a lovely class to judge. VB (0).
