Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
I thoroughly enjoyed my day with the Cavaliers today, a breed close to my heart. I have to say that I felt that the quality of the entry in general had improved greatly since the last time I judged and this is heartwarming. Bad mouths were very few and far between, another big plus. Temperaments without exception were superb, just as the breed should be. It was also great that we could be outside on the grass.
I was very interested to learn afterwards that my BOB winner today was a daughter of my BOB winner last time. Not only a very beautiful dog, but a producer as well.
Thank you for such a great entry and for the general good sportsmanship.
Dogs
Veteran
Minor Puppy
1: Llapsttam Luther Vandross (Mr M & Mr M Spall & Clark), 7-month ruby who has potential in spades. He is very well made and presents a super picture in profile. Sound as a bell on the move for one so young. Strong in topline and good tail set although I would not want him any longer. Presented beautifully. He has an assured future ahead of him.
2: Clemartill L'amour Est Bleu (Ms C Z Martins), 7-month-old Blenheim who is eye-catching in profile and has the sweetest expression. Well ribbed for his age and he too holds his topline. Uses his tail at all times and puts his feet in the right place.
3: Beaudale Whole of The Moon (Mrs S Smith)
Puppy
1: Pascavale Banksy (Mr M & Mr M Levy & Sedgwick), exciting 11-month-old Blenheim with a beautiful head and expression. Beautifully presented and conditioned. Totally balanced in outline and not much to change on the table, perfect for size and a strong topline with well set tail. Star of the future, I’m sure. BPD
2: Arroline Onyx of Merryanna (Mrs I M Yeates), 11-month b/t with the most delightful head and expression. He is well ribbed and has a decent topline and tail set. Would prefer a better mouth and he was just a tad erratic on the out and back today. Wonderful temperament and in good condition.
Junior
1: Brymarden Flawless Blush (Dr E & Dr S Rathbone & Pal), very smart Blenheim of nearly 18 months. He is so well put together and holds such a super outline in profile. Strong topline and uses his tail at all times. He is an excellent size and is so true for type. Sound as a pound and very eye catching in profile action, in particular. I liked him very much and considered him strongly in the challenge, he should title given the average amount of luck.
2: Stonepit Into The Blue (Mrs D Searle), liked this young Blenheim dog too and he too is of champion quality. Super head and expression and he is balanced in outline. Just not as positive as the winner in front today but an excellent example.
3: Ricksbury Elite (Mr B Rix)
Yearling
1: Harana Now You Has Jazz JW (Mrs L Koster-Tindall), b/t of type and quality. Pleases for head and expression, in full coat and a super topline. Moved out well keeping his outline and the perfect tail carriage.
2: Carsan Richie Rich JW (Ms G Walker), beautifully presented tri boy with a delightful head and expression. He is good for size, and he is balanced in outline. Just a tad proud of his tail today and he was not as positive in front action, but he’s a decent one.
3: Rabymar Prince Louie TAF (Miss L Danks)
Novice
1: Arrowbien That's My Boy TAF (Mr K & Mr K & Ms M Vorderstrasse & Arrowsmith & Hogan), gorgeous ruby dog of perfect size and shape and another that I seriously considered further. His head is delightful with such appealing eyes, and he is so well constructed. Perfect topline, tail set and carriage. Moved out with style and purpose. Put down to the minute. Champion without a doubt.
2: Lochbuie Goldman Sachs (Miss S & Mr A Maclaine & Vella), decent Blenheim dog who is good for size and type. He too has a super head and expression. Good topline and well-set tail. He is well made but just a smidge erratic on the out and back today which cost him.
3: Tamyse Bear with Us at Cerneyleaze (Miss E & Ms I Riis-White)
Graduate
1; Wandris Speak of The Devil JW (Miss A Bubb), Blenheim of type and good for size. Very pleasing in head and a true soft expression. Well broken in colour too. In full coat, he moved out well but could just settle in topline.
2: Rabymar Prince Louie TAF (Miss L Danks), ruby dog who just needs time. He is sound and keeps his outline. Super temperament and coat of rich colour
Post Graduate
1: Carsan Hot An Tasty JW (Mrs C Mackenzie), decent Blenheim who pleases for size and type. Comes together on the move and takes the eye in profile. In good coat and carries his tail well.
2: Arche Atelier De Reve (Mrs R & Mr S Kluge & Majcherczyk), tri boy who is bigger than I prefer but he is ultra sound and is well broken in colour and has a pleasing expression. In super condition and well handled.
3: Llapsttam's Garcon Noir at Rucazan (Mrs A Royce)
Limit
1: Harana Pinball Wizard (Mrs K F & Mr E L Ryan), b/t of real type and quality but a dog you need to look into to really appreciate him as he is not the flashiest. However he has the most delightful head and expression, strong neck leading into a near perfect front assembly. Great topline and perfect tail set and carriage, Totally balanced behind. On the move he cannot be ignored as he has such an ease of stride and really uses himself to advantage. Forward reach and drive behind, holding his outline superbly. Precise on the out and back too. Presented and handled to perfection. Very worthy of the DCC today and I hope that his title is not far off as he deserves to carry a crown. In the challenge for BOB he was just a little unsettled and had to bow to the beautiful Ruby bitch, no disgrace in that.
2: Arroline Kryptonite JW (Mrs L & Miss H Long) tri dog who is another of champion quality and initially thought would be my winner as he is so very eye-catching. He is a good size, superb head and expression and beautifully made. Today he just flew his tail a little and a tad untidy coming towards me and this was the decider. Another beautifully conditioned and handled. RCC
3: Carleeto Cutie Pie JW (Mrs C & Miss J Lewis)
Open
Good class of 3 worthy Champions
1: Ch Ellemich American Express (Mrs M & Miss T Chapman & Ireland), famous Blenheim and I can totally understand why he has made such a name for himself. His outline is delightful, and he has a glorious head and expression. Strong topline and well-set tail. In profile action you can never ignore him. Today I would just have liked him cleaner coming towards me, but he will continue to have better days, and I won’t disagree when he does.
2: Ch Roi-De-Coeur of Sevijeans at Pascavale (Mr M & Mr M Levy & Sedgwick), slightly different type but lots to like and he is an excellent size. Scores in expression and has wonderful eyes. He was in excellent coat and condition and strong in topline. Not quite the profile of the winner today.
3: Ch Llapsttam's Heavenly Scent (Mr M & Mr M Spall & Clark)
Bitches
Veteran
1: Carleeto Satine (Mrs C & Miss J Lewis), b/t of 7 years and in very good condition and moved out well holding her outline. She has a pleasing head and expression and is balanced in outline. Wonderful size and totally feminine all through. A real credit to her owner. BV
2: Rosirius Bluebell (Mrs R D Loades), 8-year-old Blenheim of type and good for size. She too is in excellent condition and moved holding her outline. Just not the precision in front of the winner today.
3: Leeabbie Toodie’s Delight at Alsidewood (Miss L Danks)
Minor Puppy
1; Kiss Kiss Du Chateau Noblesse at Ellemich (Imp Deu) (Mrs M & Miss T Chapman & Ireland), if ever there was one that stole my heart, this was it today. This 6-month-old Blenheim came into the ring and my heart missed a beat. On the table she has the most divine head and expression, strong neck into firm topline and perfect tail set and carriage. Her movement was a joy to watch and her charisma and carriage to be cherished. The performance that she gave for one so young was unbelievable. She is captivating and I could not resist her for the RCC and BP. Her future is assured, and we will be hearing a lot more of her. Delighted to see that she also won the Toy Puppy Group too.
2: Llapsttam's Vanessa (Mr M & Mr M Spall & Clark), 7-month b/t who is extremely well made, not quite the head of the winner but she too has a wonderful outline and extremely sound on the move.
3: Cavallibrook Demelza (Mrs K F Ryan)
Puppy
1: Llapsttam Four Tea Love (Mr M & Mr M Spall & Clark), b/t who was more of a piece in the class today, she is very well made and has a charming head and expression. In full coat, beautifully presented. She is sound on the move and held an outline. Another with a future.
2: Verheyen Stitch (Mrs M Cunningham), classy Blenheim of type and size. She too has a super head and expression and there is little to change on the table. She just needs a little more confidence and she’ll be away.
3: Korraines Manhattan for Kelrick (Mr R & Mrs K Lee)
Junior
1: Ellemich Bombshell at Witchstone (Mr A Leonard), petite tri with everything in the right place, except I would possibly like just a tad more leg length. Delightful head and expression, so well-constructed and she uses herself so well on the move, well broken in colour. In wonderful coat and condition.
2: Carleeto Black Velvet (Mrs C & Miss J Lewis) really super b/t bitch who pleases for type and size, she has a pretty expression, but she scores on the move where she uses herself to advantage and covers the ground holding her tail correctly. Decent one who was very close up today and I can see her changing places. I wouldn’t disagree either.
3: Millhill Delectable (Mrs E E C Mordecai)
Yearling
1: Brymarden Gentle Breeze at Rosirius (Mrs R D Loades), pretty Blenheim of good size and colour. Decent topline and well-set tail. She is typical in head and has the softest expression.
Novice
1: Leogem Venetzia (Mr D & Mrs T Homes), pretty tri in full coat and good for size and shape. She has a delightful head and expression and moved out holding her outline. In super condition.
2: Calonlan Sweet Dream (Mrs C A & Mr A M & Miss L J Rhodes), very decent Blenheim who is just going through the teenage stage at the moment and not in her best dress, but she is very well constructed and will always take the eye on the move.
3: Carleeto Red Velvet (Mrs C & Miss J Lewis)
Graduate
1: Vina Minelli Du Chateau Noblesse mit Carleeto JW (Imp Deu) (Mrs C & Miss J Lewis), ruby bitch who scores for size and type and she is balanced in outline. Super on the move, just a tad proud of her tail. In super coat and condition.
2: Tamyse Pretty in Pink at Cerneyleaze (Miss E & Ms I Riis-White), Blenheim with a delightful head and expression. She is top size, but she moved out well putting her feet in the right place.
3: Kelrick Diamond Girl (Mr R & Mrs K Lee)
Post Graduate
1: Beaudale Little Bit Naughty (Mrs S Smith). For me, the star of the day. This is an absolutely beautiful Ruby bitch. She is wonderful for size. Completely balanced in outline and has the prettiest head and softest expression. She has a decent neck, which she uses at all times, superb topline and well set and carried tail, that never stops. In profile she has that indefinable something that keeps drawing you back to her and she eats up the ground with reach and drive. Well named as she is a little bit naughty but to be honest, this just adds to her appeal. In perfect body condition and not overly coated either. I loved her and hope that she titles as she so richly deserves to be. Couldn’t resist her today CC & BOB and delighted to see her shortlisted in the group.
2: Rishtte I'm Tanisha of Remmya JW (Mrs E Bennett), similar in type this ruby also produces a pleasing outline, and she keeps an outline on the move. Not quite the expression of the winner but lots to like.
3: Kringleholme Corvette (Mrs M E Richardson)
Limit
1: Arroline Eternity JW (Mrs L & Miss H Long), Blenheim bitch of type and style, beautiful head and expression, moved out on the right track. Scores in colour. She has a very eye-catching outline in profile and uses herself to advantage. Very decent indeed.
2: Sweetbriar Heirs and Graces with Wandris JW (Miss A Bubb), another very typical Blenheim with a delightful head and expression. She is sound on the move and puts her feet in the right place but could just use herself a little more particularly in profile. Liked her though.
3: Amantra Fancy Fox (Mrs T M Jackson)
Open
1: Ch Ellemich Good Trouble with Gleniren (Mr G & Mrs I & Mrs M & Miss T Robb & Robb & Chapman & Ireland), delightful Blenheim who is very much all of a piece, she is beautifully presented and in super coat which is well broken. Sound and stylish on the move, she is another that will always take the eye. Very worthy of her title.
2: Revdvicki's Esther Verheyen (Mrs M Cunningham), very pretty ruby bitch who is full of type and the most wonderful shape, she has to finish and when she does, she should carry a title, I liked her a lot.
3: Llapsttam's Eunice JW (Mr M & Mr M Spall & Clark)
