Paignton & District Fanciers' Association

Breed: Borzoi

An interesting assignment. Temperaments were all excellent, teeth generally clean and so were my hands at the end of the entry, thank you. There were several really nice young hounds not quite ready for top honours, and some hounds that I have judged and liked before were not on top form today. Generally heads were good, but feet and pasterns were not, some slack with flat feet, and cat feet also making an appearance. Some poor movement both behind and especially in front, this is rather disappointing.

Class 1675 PD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

Two nice puppies. 1st: 3161 PINKERTON, Mrs Sue Brutus Granabrazo At Menigma ( Imp Svk), impressive self gold 11 months, masculine head with dark eye and good veining, plenty of scope about him, good angles in front with tight feet and good spring of pastern, good length and breadth of loin, correct fallaway and he moved cleanly with a light free stride, most promising, BPIB. 2nd: 3159 MACKIE, Miss Nicola E & PREDDY, MR ISAAC Byelobog Granabrazo At Hawksflight (imp Svk), w/cream, another really nice quality head, very good front assembly, good depth and forechest for age, well ribbed up and also moved very nicely, a touch upright in pastern.

Class 1676 JD (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 3153 HARVEY, Mrs L Lynx Tell A Tale Of Albaneiler (imp Swe) JW, w/red 12 months with strong jaw and dark eye, earset could be higher. Decent front, sweeping topline and good fallaway, good muscle behind. Upright in front pasterns; moved OK but flicking his near fore coming at me.

2nd: 3165 PINKERTON, Mrs Sue & NOVOTNY, Mrs Kathleen & CATTO Menigma Rey's Infatuation, w/g and an all round very high class youngster, lovely head, cracking outline, good length and depth enabling him to stand over plenty of ground, well laid shoulder and return of upper arm, well turned stifles. Needs to tighten in feet and pasterns which affected his front movement.

Class 1677 YD (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 3158 LOGVINENKO, Dr Timothy Lynx Faster Than Light Of Noldoli (imp Swe) JW, not quite 2 y/o w/gold, impressive outline with ample scope and depth for his age, strong behind with good length of loin which was nicely arched, matching angles and good feet with springy pasterns, in glamorous full coat and he was sound out and back and covered the ground in profile. RCC, his sixth and very much knocking at the door.

Class 1679 LD (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 3146 DAWSON, Mr Nigel & DAWSON, Mrs Elizabeth & DAWSON, Mischran The Sequel For Stubbylee JW, 2 y/o, very well balanced shapely young hound with a pleasing head with good planes, good length of neck into well-laid shoulder, very good front and feet, ribbing carried well back, tendency to over-enthusiasm on the move but when settled he moved very nicely, very much one to watch for the future; 2nd: 3143 BIRMINGHAM, Mr M A Takatori Barnum, a bigger heavily coated w/g with a well chiselled masculine head, clean front and good feet and pasterns, deep chest and ribbing carried well back. Not the movement of 1 especially behind, 3rd: 3163 PINKERTON, Mrs Sue & KNIESCHKE, Mrs Ingrid Lynx The Magician At Menigma (imp Swe)

Class 1680 OD (4 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 3162 PINKERTON, Mrs Sue & CATTONI-SARMAN, Mrs Lynda & A Ch Ryazan Viceroy Of Radost At Menigma ShCEx, at 5 he is now fully mature; lovely head on him with good planes and chiselling, dark eye and strong jaw, super front with excellent lay of shoulder and return of upper arm, enough fill and forechest with clean limbs and good feet, stands over plenty of ground and has a good strong rear propelling him around this big ring with light active strides and excellent footfall in front and behind. He was really on song today to take the dog CC & BOB, delighted that he went on to G3. 2nd: 3152 HARVEY, Mrs L Ch Astragorn Zeus Glory Of Albaneiler (imp Aus) JW, slightly different type, masculine head, really pleasing feet and front, good return of upper arm and enough forechest, gently arched topline and correct fallaway, bit inclined to over-enthusiasm but moved well all round when he relaxed; 3rd: 3157 LOGVINENKO, Dr Timothy Ch Ryazan Vladimir ShCEx

Class 1682 PB (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 3150 HALL, Mrs R Jansams Bloody Mary (a.i.), pretty 11 months baby with a lovely feminine head, well chiselled with dark eye and good earset. Good forehand angles and feet, enough depth for age, riding up slightly behind, this should come right with maturity, clean going away, just a little loose in front yet as she is yet to fill in forechest. BPB.

Class 1683 JB (4 Entries) Abs: 1 This was a tricky class, two different types with very different strengths. 1st: 3154 HARVEY, Mrs L Lynx Fairy Tale Of Albaneiler (imp Swe), f/w with lots of scope, very good front and correct feet and pasterns, plenty of fill and forechest, good ribbing and fallaway, well-turned stifles. Good profile movement and clean in front, but untidy behind. Much more mature than 2nd: 3147 DAWSON, Mr Nigel & DAWSON, Mrs Elizabeth & DAWSON, Stubbylee At Sunrise, very well named as this youngster is a striking self-red. Pleasing outline with a refined and feminine outlook, strong quarters, good feet and pasterns, plenty of length and good fallaway, could see her going on to bigger things with more time under her belt to fill and drop in front, very much a slow maturer. 3rd: 3169 WHITE, Mrs Sarah Rosemarie & RABIN, Mr Yuval Monterun Star Brava At Mischran

Class 1684 YB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 3147 DAWSON, Mr Nigel & DAWSON, Mrs Elizabeth & DAWSON, Stubbylee At Sunrise

Class 1686 LB (2 Entries) Abs: 1

CC, her first.

Class 1687 OB (6 Entries) Abs: 1 What a nice class, four lovely champion bitches.

1st: 3148 DOVE, Miss J Ch Takatori Madam Butterfly At Saringa JW, upstanding w/g, well presented and in full coat, lovely feminine head with strong jaw and dark eye, deep chest and ribbing carried well back, clean sound front, sweeping topline into good fallaway.
