Hungarian Puli Club Of Great Britain

Breed: Hungarian Puli

Hungarian Puli Club of Great Britain Championship Show 12th July 2025

Judge Marilyn Scrutton

I would like to thank the Club members who voted for me in the Judge’s ballot giving me the honour of judging a second Club Show some twenty plus years after the first.

Also a big thank you to my two able ring stewards, Victoria and Rob, and to all those who entered. Luckily we were first in the ring before it became too hot and there was ample shade for exhibitors and people sitting near the ring.

JD (1)

1. Rhodes Tyngeli Wishful Thinking 14months old, he has a lovely well proportioned head, dark eye and pigment. Balanced front and rear angulation, good spring of rib, chest still to develop fully, which is expected at his age, short loin and good bend of stifle with low set hocks. A promising youngster.

1. Keeling Catsun Singular Sensation for Wisley 20 months old with good bite and pigment, level top line, lovely square shape and moving well.

 2. Hudsons Mournebrake Also An Angel 2 yr old white, with good pigment to roof of mouth, bite just OK, larger dog than one and rear movement not as good.

1. Keeling Montydom White Riot in Wisley Almost 4 years old , well presented white, with dark eye, good pigment, and pleasing masculine head. Well angled front and rear, would prefer slightly shorter back, moving well.

OD (2)

1. Cowley Kashbeluli There We Are Then JW now 3 and a half years old, this black boy is just coming into his own. Beautifully presented and in hard well muscled condition, he is bang on square. Lovely well proportioned masculine head, with good pigment and excellent dentition. Medium neck leads to well laid shoulders, good depth of chest, tight elbows and nice spring of rib with short strong loin. Balanced rear angulation and low hocks give good short stepping movement. Coat is almost to the ground which will finish the picture. I understand he has just obtained SHCEX and OSW the first Puli to achieve this. CC Best Opposite Sex In Show

 2. Knight Ch. Flindattie The Shogun 6 year older half brother to winner, also got the RCC last time out. Of nice size, in full coat he has correct head proportions with good bite and pigment. Good depth of chest and spring of rib, correct angles front and rear, short loin. Not presenting quite such a square outline as winner nor in such hard condition. RCC.

1. Rathband & Fealy Mournebrake Hidden Agenda with Keynell Almost 12 months, this puppy is going through the nightmare stage with coat which is going to need some serious work. Well up to size, I would prefer slightly more feminine head, good bite and pigment. Medium neck, good shoulder angulation, short loin and matching rear angulation. Tendency to drop her tail but remedied this once on the move. Best Puppy In Show

1. Webster & Topping Catsun Pop My Cork 21 month old black who is starting to grey. A fine boned bitch with good head, pigment and bite. Balanced front and rear angulation, presenting a square outline, neat mover.

LB (1)

1. Anderson & Mayne Vilmos Viva La Diva 3 yr old black now reaching maturity. Fine boned with nice head proportions, dark eye and pigment, good bite. Balanced front and rear angulation, moderate spring of rib, short loin and low set hocks. I should prefer a little more of her all round.

OB (2)

1. Clarke & Duffy Ch. Porgeloci Bobe at Peluch (ImpHUN) I have been itching to get my hands on this bitch since seeing her at her first show and I was not disappointed. Now 5 years old presented in full and immaculate coat, she is a dream to go over. Beautiful head proportions, with dark eye and great pigment, good bite. Strong neck flowing into well laid shoulders with good length of upper arm, well developed chest and spring of rib, short loin and excellent rear angulation with low set hocks. She is beautifully square in outline. Only lightly shown due to her owners other committements, she should surely go on to take records. Delighted to award her 19th CC & Best In Show

2. Bodle Ch. Tyngeli Make Believe at Vilmos Another favourite of mine, who has gained her crown since I last judged her. Pleasing head proporions with lovely feminine expression, good bite and pigment. Well placed shoulders, with good depth of chest and spring of rib, level topline and short loin, well angulated rear assembly. As I have said previously, she is my type of bitch but ideally I would like a bit more of her all round.

VB (3) Lovely class, 3 super old ladies, a credit to their owners.

1.Knight Ch. Weetoneon Polly Flinders 3 months short of her 13th Birthday, fine boned with lovely head proportions, good bite and pigment, well laid shoulders with matching rear angulation, good spring of rib, short loin, gave her CC and BOB last time out but today had to settle for the RCC, Reserve Best In Show and Best Veteran In Show

2. Webster & Topping Hampatong Head Of State 10 yrs and recently gained her crown. Slightly larger bitch, well made. Good head, eye and dentition. Well angulated front and rear, with good depth of chest and spring of rib. Really moving well today.

 3. Corah Ch. Callendu Diamonds’n Pearls at 9 years the youngest of the 3 and took the RCC last time I judged. She has a lovely balanced head, super bite and pigment. Medium neck leads to well laid shoulders, good spring of rib and short strong loin, with balanced rear angulation. Not on top form today, perhaps the heat was beginning to affect her.

JUNIOR HANDLER (under 16 yrs) (2 Abs 1)

1. William Rhodes 10 years old. This young man is more used to handling a Border Collie but made a successful transition to a Puli. He is in tune with his dog and so brings out the best in him. William has a bright future as a handler.
