it was an honour to be invited to judge at WPBS their 50th Anniversary show, it was made even more enjoyable by having top quality exhibits to go over. There was a lovely atmosphere within the showground, the society had put so much effort into organising their show with balloons, cake, a bumper raffle and much more. Congratulations to the hard working committee. I would also like to thank my stewards who did an excellent job.

Minor Puppy Dog 2: 0

1st - Jeddhi Oh Danny Boy (Messrs D&S McCarthy & Gething) Very smart youngster in tip top condition, preferred the more developed typical head shape of my class winner, dark correctly shaped eyes giving off the sweetest of expression, elegant neck onto correct shoulders down to a straight front and the tightest of feet, firm top line with a gentle slope, correct tail set , nicely developed rear quarters , moved out soundly . A promising young puppy who has a bright future ahead of him.

2nd - Lorrosa Dizzy Rascal at Glenauld (Misses L & S Mair) Not the maturity of my winner

 but a very smart elegant youngster presented in lovely condition, correctly proportioned, balanced and typical head which needs time to develop, dark expressive eyes, good dentition, ample neck onto correct shoulders, true front, sturdy body and stable hindquarters, feet need to tighten with maturity, he moved out freely around the ring.

1st - Lorrosa Keeping It Real (Mrs L A Fay-Smith) 6mth b&w who held his own in this class, looked stunning in profile, not the height of 2 but everything in the right place for his age

 well balanced throughout, pleasing head, dark eyes with a kind expression, correct width of muzzle, neck flows onto well placed shoulders, good bone, feet to tighten, firm slightly sloping top line, good width of thigh, nicely angulated rear quarters, moved out well for a youngster.

2nd- Newlaithe Northern Soul at Sonshoby (Mrs B & Mr D Renshaw-Turner &Turner)

Overall more mature and upstanding than my winner, head of correct proportion, dark eyes, shorter in neck than 1 straight front, ample bone, tighter feet than 1 firm top line moved around the ring with confidence.

Junior Dog 2 :1

1st Farvalley Major Luke at Susancar (Misses S & S Carter) 17mth B&W who I have admired as a puppy and wasn’t disappointed when I went over him, I liked his size and substance and overall appearance which is typical of a boxer , he is correctly balanced throughout in beautiful condition with great muscle tone, head of correct balance of muzzle to skull with a defined stop, the darkest of eyes, strong muscular neck onto correct shoulders, the straightest of fronts, well off for bone , tight feet, very showy when stacked, square in profile, firm top line correct tail set moved out with purpose, Pleased to award him the RDCC.

1st Shellark Spence Is Dynamite with Berwynfa (Mrs M & Mrs F Law & Pynegar)

3 year male who when settled looked totally balanced , lovely head shape viewed from all sides nicely padded muzzle of good width, dark eyes giving off a lively expression, arched strong muscular neck, good lay back of shoulder, straight front, down to the tightest of feet, well off for bone, firm top line , overall in hard tip top condition, slightly longer in loin than 2 but held his top line on the move, gave his handler a hard time but once settled he didn’t disappoint winning him the class.

2nd- Beeann Big Story (Mrs M A Bee ) - 2 year B&W male square outline, not quite the foreleg of 1, stronger in head than 1, nicely padded muzzle ,dark eyes, arched neck of good length, neatly set on to shoulders, straight front, slightly sloping top line, leading to correct tail set, strong rear quarters, moved out steady.

1st Sashbob Never Would I Ever from Berwynfa JW (Ms C & Mrs F Johnson & Pynegar)

 2 ½ who looks very sharp and very well balanced throughout, shown in pristine muscular condition, overall shorter in loin than 2 showing off his square medium size outline,

 typical head of correct proportions, clean muscular neck of good reach, evident forechest of correct width, straight front down to the tightest of feet and good shoulders, slightly sloping firm top line, strong muscular quarters, bang on tail set, moved effortlessly around the ring.

2nd Beeann Cover Story JW (Mrs M A Bee) 4 year b&w longer in loin than 1, nicely developed typical head with appealing dark eyes, straight front good length of foreleg down to the tightest of feet, ample bone, strong muscular neck, firm top line, which he maintained whilst on the move,

1st - Ch Sulez Striker at Glenauld JW (Misses L & S Mair) Dark brindle 2 year old male who really took my eye, and is so well put together, square in outline, so well balanced throughout and presented in pristine muscular condition, masculine head of correct proportions viewed from all angles, good mouth, he has the darkest of eyes with a keen expression, muscular neck flowing onto well laid shoulders, straight front down to the tightest of feet and slightly sloping pasterns, firm muscular top line, well defined hindquarters with good width of thigh moved out steady and true making the most of the ring , pleased to award him DCC . He went on to challenge for BOB against his sister Ch Sulex Smashedit and took top spot on the day.

 In the Group he went on to be awarded Working G3 .

2nd - Newlaithe Respect JW (Mrs V Van-Beck) Another quality male who is in hard pristine condition and so very well balanced throughout, typical head of correct proportions, with a well defined stop, dark expressive correct eyes good depth and width of muzzle, strong arched neck with good reach onto correct shoulders. Great front assembly of good width and depth, firm topline leading to correct tail set, well developed hindquarters with good angulation moved out effortlessly holding his topline on the move.

Minor Puppy Bitch 2 : 0

1st Winuwuk Kiss Me Quick at Charlons (ai) (Mr J & Mr E & Mr Mr Jones & Jones & James)

 A very promising puppy, sharp square outline, feminine head which needs time to develop as I would expect for a puppy of her age, good width & depth of forechest straight front, feet to tighten as she matures, , well off for bone, correctly placed shoulders, firm top line, well angulated rear assembly, correct tail set, moved with purpose.

2nd Lorrosa Keeping Faith (Mrs L A Fay-Smith) Another promising youngster, typical feminine head of correct proportions, dark expressive eyes, lovely reach of neck, straight front, good length of foreleg , feet to tighten, firm top line good width of rear quarters, she looked very smart in outline, presented in beautiful condition, moved out steady.

 Puppy Bitch 2: 0

1st Newlaithe Bridget Jones with Treju (Mrs J & Mr T Welch) smart young puppy of quality in pristine condition, typical feminine head of correct proportions for her age , good eye shape and colour with the most appealing expression, good pigmentation, clean reach of neck onto super front assembly, correct shoulders, tighter feet than 2 , looked lovely in profile, firm slightly sloping top line, dark brindle coat in gleaming condition, she was presented in excellent condition, moved steadily with such style not letting her handler down, , pleased to award her BPB , BPIB . I will watch her show career with interest and would like to think that she will have a bright show career ahead of her. One to watch for in the future for sure.

2nd Newlaithe Come On Y’All (Mrs V Van-Beck) , another smart dark brindle puppy from this kennel, lovely in profile, typical feminine head of correct proportions, just preferred the expression on my winner, nicely arched neck of good length, straight in front, slightly sloping top line leading to strong muscular rear quarters, square in outline, presented in pristine condition, correct tail set, moved effortlessly around the ring.

Junior Bitch 5: 1

1st Boxania Don’t Blame Me at Jeddhi (Messrs D & S McCarthy & Gething)

A very smart stylish b&w bitch, square in profile, nicely developed typical clean head, dark eyes with the most appealing expression, strong elegant reach of neck flowing onto well laid shoulders, good length of foreleg down to the tightest of feet and slightly sloping pasterns, good bone, good layback of shoulders firm top line, ,totally well balanced throughout, in tip top condition as always from this kennel, moved with ease around the ring covering the ground well.

2nd Sashbob Miss’d Meana (Mrs C Johnson) square in outline. Presented in strong muscular condition, beautifully balanced feminine head with a defined stop, nicely padded muzzle, dark eyes, strong arched neck which flowed into a slightly sloping top line, balanced front and rear quarters, short firm back, well let down hocks, well off for bone, moved with purpose showing great reach & drive

3rd Berwynfa Millionaire at Tweedbox (Mr K Walker)

A lovely class to judge and I really was spoilt for choice when awarding my final placings,

1st Merribox in Cahoots with Glenauld (Misses L & S Mair) 18mth top quality bitch who has the sharpest of outlines and so well balanced throughout, she has a beautiful feminine head with a defined stop, nicely padded muzzle of good width, arched neck of good reach neatly set onto correct shoulders, strong well assembled front, with evident forchest, slightly sloping firm top line, short coupled leading to correct tail set, strong rear quarters of good width, she moved effortlessly around the ring.

2nd Skies The Limit with Berwynfa (Mrs F Pynegar) Another top quality bitch who didn’t disappoint and was presented in pristine hard muscular condition, totally balanced throughout , square in outline, lovely head of correct proportions good mouth ,nicely padded muzzle, dark correct eyes , good pigmentation, strong muscular arched neck, correct shoulders, front assembly is nicely developed with good width and depth, super bone, tight feet, slightly sloping firm top line, correct tail set , muscular rear quarters which she used to power around the ring. On another day these two beautiful bitches could change places.

3rd Birleyvale Burning Heart (ai) (Mrs D Payne)

Limit Bitch 8: 1

 Another quality class that I was pleased to have the opportunity to judge.

1st Carkennar Brainstorm (Mrs E J Adam) 3 year beautifully presented bitch of quality who creates a lovely outline when stacked, balanced head, dark correct shaped eyes with a cheeky expression, muzzle of good width and nicely padded, good reach of neck onto correct shoulders, straight front and the tightest of feet, well off for bone, square in profile and in pristine muscular condition, slightly shorter in loin than 2, great rear quarters of good width and muscle tone, well let down hocks, movement was free flowing and true.

2nd Lorrosa Missy Elliott (Mrs L A Fay-Smith) Another beautiful flashy, b&w bitch, her pristine coat highlights her stylish outline, beautiful head of correct proportions viewed from all sides , great front assembly ,well off for bone with the tightest of feet, good depth of brisket, good reach of neck onto correct shoulders, firm back, strong muscular rear quarters , well-schooled and handled by her owner, shown in immaculate condition, she has many virtues to appreciate , lovely outline which she held on the move.

3rd Lorrosa My Heads Been Turned to Jeddhi (Messrs D & S McCarthy & Gething)

Open Bitch 5: 0 Another beautiful class to judge. I really did have to split hairs before making my final choices. These two bitches are typical of the breed and did not disappoint.

1st Ch Sulez Smashedit (Mrs S Drinkwater) b&w elegant bitch who ticks all the boxes, she is in pristine condition, square in outline, she has style, elegance and is totally well balanced throughout, she has a beautiful clean head of correct proportions with nothing overdone , the darkest most appealing eyes, nicely padded muzzle of width, arched muscular neck onto correct shoulder placement and front assembly with good depth of fore chest, straight front, tight feet, slightly sloping pasterns, firm topline, body in great condition and muscle tone, ribs well sprung carrying through to a strong loin, muscular rear quarters with a good second thigh and well let down hocks, moved out with ease showing off her beautiful outline. She excelled in all areas I was pleased to award her the BCC.

2ND Sulez Teaser (Mrs S Drinkwater) Another elegant quality bitch from this kennel who had great ring presence, she has the most beautiful feminine head of correct proportions, lovely dark eyes with a kind gentle expression. good width of muzzle, nicely padded but not overdone, She is square in outline, arched neck flowing into well laid shoulders, soundfront assembly of good width and depth, well off for bone, compact feet, strong muscular slightly sloping top line , short in loin nicely developed rear quarters, well let down hocks , she really did not let her handler down moving parallel coming & going with reach and drive Pleased to award her the RBCC.
