Border Union Agricultural Society

Breed: Chihuahua (Long Coat)

Border Union – June 2025. Chihuahua (Long Coat)

Thank you to the Officers & Committee for the invitation to judge LC Chihuahuas. Another very enjoyable day with the ‘little people’ and one of my favourite breeds to judge. Some very exciting youngsters which bodes well for the breed. A host of worthy Champions and Veterans which I was very honoured to have the opportunity of judging.

Minor Puppy Dog (4,1) Super start with three very promising baby puppies.1st Monicachi Money Talks at Beaulamey (Miss B & Miss H Beaumont & Bisson). A beautiful head and expression on this 6 month old with everything in the right place. Confident and big personality. Nice and compact in body. Really excels on the move with strength to his hind quarters. Impressed on the move showing strength to topline and perfect high set tail carried in in the shape of a sickle. Coat developing nicely for age. BPD. 2nd Tidos Interloper (Mrs C Fairbairn). Slightly larger pale cream dog again with a beautiful head. Large round dark eyes and flared ears with domed skull. Excellent dentition and clean scissor bite. Balanced in body. Thicker puppy coat at the moment; of super soft texture. Holds top line well and tail carried in slight curve over the back. Moving a little wide behind at times as he tried to cope with the uneven ground. Straight front coming towards. 3rd Amarantos Palm Sundae (Mrs L Humphreys). Such a beautiful head on this boy who is full of breed type but sadly a little too shy. I am sure his day will come when he gains more confidence. He looks so promising.

Puppy Dog (6,1) Close call between one and two.1st Kirdanchi All That Jaz (Mrs S Holland-Smith). Very attractive and eye-catching for his coat colour, is pigmentation and wonderful head. Loved his expression and cheeky character. Large dark round eyes. Super domed head and flared ears set just right. Liked his compact body and balance overall. Moved with real drive. Parallel away and back. His tail is set high but just tended to carry it a bit close to his back today which detracted. 2nd Tidos Pumpkin Pie (Mrs S Robson). A super head with large dark round eyes, flared ears and typical expression. Compact in body with a super tail set high carried in a gentle curve. Feathering developing well in all the right places. Moved briskly; parallel away and back. Just losing his top line slightly on the move. 3rd Chirouxe Major Tom (Ms L J Russell)

Junior Dog (1,0) 1st Bramerita Mr Motown with Bratilda (Mrs C, Miss L, Miss B & Miss A Patterson). My star find of the day. Only 13 months but confident and self-assured with ‘look at me’ attitude both stood and even more so on the move. My first note says simply “gorgeous”. A small, compact dog with a big personality and beautiful breed type. Makes such a typical silhouette stood. He has a stunning head and expression. Slight arch to his neck and then matching well angulated front and hind quarters. Top line is level and shows strength due to his long, well sprung rib cage and short loin. Tail is set high and carried in perfect sickle shape with just the right amount of feathering. Loved him. CC & BOB.

Yearling Dog (1,0) 1st Chirouxe Hallo Spaceboy (Ms L J Russell). A beautifully proportioned young dog with a super head and expression. Excellent pigmentation with large dark round eyes, domed skull and large well flared ears. Holds a level top line. Tail plumed and carried perfectly with slight ‘sickle’ curve. Very sound away and back. Moved with nice brisk pace driving from his low hocks. Would just prefer a little more neck to balance the outline. Soft coat with feathering well developed.

Novice Dog (2,2)

Graduate Dog (2,0) 1st Chirouxe Little Things Maciendas (Mr W E & Ms J Heap & Palmer). Immediately attracted to his typical head and expression and with the sweetest of temperaments; such a happy soul. Nice and compact in body. Very thick coat but nice soft texture. Moved parallel away and back holding his topline. Lovely sickle shaped tail with feathering. Could have slightly longer neck. 2nd Kingston (Imp Tha) (Miss E Fellone). A shy boy who was a little unsettled today and didn’t want to show off his tail. I liked his head and expression. Slightly longer in back than the winner. Soft coat with good feathering and attractive ruff around his neck. Moved away with drive; a little wide in front coming towards.

Post Graduate Dog (2,0) 1st Ismirelle's Ready to Fight JW (Mrs L O’neill). Won this class on his sound movement and his overall silhouette stood. Domed skull with large flared ears. Medium neck with slight arch. Well sprung ribs with level topline and high set tail carried in a curve stood and on the move. Could be a fraction shorter in loin. Drives from his hocks on the move and parallel away and back. 2nd Yensha's Supersonic with Tidos (Mr S & Ms Y & Mrs S Rushton & Chang & Robson). Such a beautiful head and expression with the beautiful eyes. Ears flared and set on his domed skull perfectly. More compact in body than the winner. Tail set high and carried in perfect sickle curve with feathering well developed. Moving close behind and a little erratic coming towards today.

Limit Dog (6,0) A close call between one and two; both such typical examples of the breed. 1st Jahneemahs Alter Ego (Mrs E Huntley). Small and fine boned but no mistaking he is a dog. Full of confidence and attitude. Loads of breed type. Loved his expression with excellent pigmentation including large dark round eyes with black lids. Defined stop with short muzzle; dentition a little untidy. His overall confirmation shows matching angulation and balance. Very sound on the move and typical outline in side gait showing reach and drive. 2nd Rubyanlo Dream Boy (Mr N & Mrs L Todd-Mccoid). I wrote “chunky and cheeky” first. He has bags of attitude and a great personality. Well domed skull and large dark round yes. Ears set correctly and nicely flared. Lovely and compact in body with well sprung ribs and short loin. In super overall condition. He has a thicker coat which is soft and very good feathering. He was full of it and a little unsettled on the move but moving away and back showed strength to his hocks and a nice straight front. 3rd Hermosoangel’s Lord Vecna (Miss B Newbery)

Open Dog (5,0) 1st Ch Rubyanlo Close Call (Mr N & Mrs L Todd-Mccoid). Every inch a Champion and I’d proudly give him a CC anytime. Stood out for his typical silhouette which was text book. He has a stunning head and expression with nothing to change. Compact in body and showed super overall balance. Compact in body and well conditioned. His coat was exemplary; soft and of just the right length with feathering in all the right places including the desired ruff. Has great rapport with his handler and his personality shines through. Showed reach in front in side gait with some drive. Straight front coming towards; a little close going away. RCC. 2nd Bramvers Eckerman (Imp Jpn) (Mrs E Huntley). Loved the head and expression on this boy and he too makes such a typical silhouette. Gorgeous large dark round eyes and pigmentation. Large ears which could be set a fraction lower and show more flare for perfection. Compact in body supporting a level top line and high set tail. Featherd tail carried in perfect sickle shape stood and on the move. Moved with freedom in front and behind. Parallel away and back. 3rd Maciendas Ra (Mr W E & Ms J Heap & Palmer)

Veteran Dog (3,0) Three fabulous older gentleman; all an absolute credit to their owners. 1st Ch/jpn Ch Peregrine Jp Chance Is Coming (Imp Jpn) (Mr W E & Ms J Heap & Palmer). Put down in great order; a picture of health. Well-conditioned, compact body with an excellent soft textured coat of good length and feathering in all the right places. He has a fabulous head and expression with textbook eyes. Sound away with drive from low hocks. Moves with pace carrying his sickle tail well and holding his topline. Front legs converging slightly coming towards. Would still be very happy to award him a CC in his Veteran years. BVIB. 2nd Ch Amarantos Tobin VW (Mrs L Humphreys). Another so very worthy of his Champion title. Even at 9 years old he is full of character and his personality shone through. He has a super expression with large round dark eyes and fabulous flaring ears set perfectly on is domed skull. Coat in perfect order; straight and of good length with ruff to neck and feathering on legs and tail. Moved with real drive and sound away and back. Just a fraction longer in body than the winner hence the placings but would not stop me awarding this chap a CC even at 9 years. 3rd Bramerita Here's Trouble at Charabri (Miss D Symon)

Minor Puppy Bitch (4,1) 1st Tidos Voodoo Lady (Mrs S Robson). I could have taken this black and cream girl home and given the owners frustration with her she would have probably let me !! So alert and confident to the point of being naughty, oozing confidence and totally full of herself. Such a saucy expression on her beautiful head. The darkest of eyes which were large and round. Ears flared and set perfectly on here well-domed skull. Slight arch to her neck. Compact body with straight front legs and well bent stifle. Low on the hock which she used to drive and well laid shoulders allowing reach in front. Holds a level top line stood and on the move with a perfect sickle shaped tail set high. Softer thicker puppy coat with feathering developing well. BPIB. 2nd Ismirelle Tickl My Pickle Prinleigh (Mrs M & Miss A Emmerson & Turnbull). A very pretty little lady; small and fine boned and oozing breed type. Beautiful head and expression with large dark round eyes and flared ears. Medium length elegant neck with slight arch. Level top line and high set tail held in the correct sickle shape. Sound away and back moving with freedom in side gait. Just overshadowed slightly by the winner today. Sure to have a bright future as she gains in confidence. 3rd Emarachis Slay The Day (Miss E Fellone)

Puppy Bitch (4,1) 1st Rubyanlo Next Top Model (Mr N & Mrs L Todd-Mccoid). And is already showing the potential to have been well named. Her head is gorgeous with such a typical expression. Her eyes are divine; large, dark and round. Hers are large and flared set perfectly on each side of her domed skull. Her coat is soft and straight and feathering is developing well. Compact in body and presents a balanced overall shape. Moved confidently with drive from her hindquarters. Front legs nice and straight. Holds her top line and tail is set and carried well at all times. 2nd Jahneemahs Go Blonde (Mrs E Huntley). Another well named puppy with a soft, pale cream coat with feathering nicely developed in all the right places. Loved her head especially the large dark round eyes and melting expression. Her ears are large and flared set either side her well domed skull. She moves with style and is sound away and back. Shows reach and drive in side gait just a little longer cast than the winner but nonetheless another top quality puppy. 3rd Emarachis Slay The Day (Miss E Fellone)

Junior Bitch (5,1) 1st Bramerita If I Ain't Got You for Silverchi (Miss V L Silverstein). Litter sister to the Dog CC winner and of a similar stamp. Like him, she too has a beautiful head and expression. Her fabulous pigmentation creating the darkest round eyes. Ears are flared and set correctly. Holds her level top line stood and on the move. Slighyl longer cast. Her tail is set high but has a tendency to carry it very close to her back which spoils the silhouette. Well angulated forequarters with a bend of stifle to match so moves with extension in front and drive from behind. 2nd Jotolemar Time Stands Still with Charabri (Miss D Symon) Liked her large dark round eyes and well flared ears creating a typical expression. Slightly longer in the muzzle than the winner. Holds a level top line stood and on the move. Well let down hocks creating drive from the rear. Super straight back when stood and on the move. Tail set high and carried in correct sickle shape curve. Coat developing well for her age with feathering evident on legs and tail. Moved parallel away and back. 3rd Place 4188 - Gerga Leo Valentina at Starceylon (Imp Skv) (Mr C & Mrs L & Miss A Tyson)

Yearling Bitch (3,1) 1st Starceylon Miss Potter (Mr C & Mrs L & Miss A Tyson). A pretty pale cream lady with a beautiful head. Large round eyes which could just be a fraction darker to enhance the expression. Large, flared ears and super domed skull. Good body proportions, just longer than tall, but ‘had too much breakfast’ so lost some definition in loin and overall body shape. She moves with real drive and whizzes round the ring with attitude. Nice and parallel away and back. 2nd Jotolemar Time Stands Still with Charabri (Miss D Symon). 2nd in Junior. 3rd Rhinns Jazz by Candlelight (Mrs D Kerr)

Novice Bitch (2,0) 1st Rubyanlo Knock Your Sox Off (Mr N & Mrs L Todd-Mccoid). Litter sister to winner of the Puppy Class and also aptly named as I am sure she will impress many judges in the future. Stunning head and such a typical cheeky expression. Excellent pigmentation. Large dark round eyes and ears set just right; large and flared. Nice and compact in body. Straight front legs and strong, low hocks. Very sure footed. Sound away and back. Holds top line level stood and on the move. Tail set high and carried in a tighter sickle curve over her back so tip touches her top line. Soft coat of good length and in super condition; feathering developed well for age. 2nd Jotolemar Time Stands Still with Charabri (Miss D Symon). 2nd in Junior.

Graduate Bitch (3,0) 1st Amarantos Danyka (Mrs L Humphreys). Liked her for size and overall shape. Lovely typical head with large flared ears, dark round eyes and excellent pigmentation. Slight arch to her neck. Super compact body. Holds a level top line stood and on the move with a high set tail held in the shape of a sickle. Shows strength to her hocks and drives from her rear. Straight front legs with reach in front. Coat soft and of good length with feathering on legs and tail with slight ruff to her neck. 2nd Pappersley Chomolungma (Miss R & Miss W Berrington & Smith). An attractive girl with a super head and expression. Large dark round eyes and well flared ears. Longer in the back than the winner. Straight front legs and well bent stifles with let down hocks. Moves with drive from behind but lifts her front feet a bit high in side gait. Tail varied with typical sickle shape. 3rd Place Kirdanchi Le Ballet Giselle JW (Mrs S Holland-Smith).

Post Graduate Bitch (3,0) 1st Ismirelle's Right Back at Ya JW (Mrs L O’neill). Such a show off and demanding everyone’s attention. Cheeky personality. Makes a typical silhouette stood. Lovely balance overall. Super domed skull with well set flared ears. Eyes are dark but could be a fraction larger. Her body is compact and she holds perfect level top line with a sickle shaped tail held perfectly. Moved with pace and sound away and back. 2nd Jotolemar Time for A Change at Charabri (Miss D Symon). Black and cream bitch with shorter, soft coat and some feathering. Domed skull with flared ears. Eyes are round but could be darker. Straight low hocks with good bend to stifle. Moves parallel away and back. Would like her a little more compact in body. Can turn her feet out slightly when stood. 2nd in Junior. 3rd Ridgehawk Scarlet ** (Miss C Veazey)

Limit Bitch (6,0) 1st Dorenty Textututango (Miss D Entwistle). Another delight from Dorenty and as always the happiest little lady who just wants to make her mum happy. Never stopped showing and tail wagged throughout. Pale cream coat in immaculate condition, of good length with very good feathering and a ruff to her neck. Such a beautiful expression. Her head is so typical with flared ears, a domed skull and large dark round eyes. Liked the slight arch to her neck to well laid shoulders and a bang level back. Tail is well feathered, set high and carried in a perfect sickle shape. She moved in a spirited fashion showing good freedom of movement in side gait and nice and parallel away and back. 2nd Monicachi Blue You Away (Mr L Day) Another beautiful bitch; this time blue cream and very glamourous with a sparkling personality. A picture of health and vitality. Presents a very typical silhouette stood and on the move. Flared ears and round, dark eyes which could be a fraction larger. Nice and compact in body (had eaten more than just her own breakfast today) with a high set tail carried in perfect sickle shape. Very sound away and back with real drive from her low hicks and good extension in front to match. Very worthy of a CC. 3rd Starceylon The Ice Queen JW (Mr C & Mrs L Tyson)

Open Bitch. A super class with three worthy Champions taking the top 3 spots. Really splitting hairs between one, two and three. All three very CC worthy. The first two are so very similar. Both fine and dainty and presented such a typical silhouette both stood and in side gait. Both have beautiful heads with flared ears and domed skulls. Large dark round eyes and fabulous saucy expressions. Both compact in body with level top lines and high set sickle shaped tails. Just the right amount of feathering with slight ruffs to neck. They both moved swiftly with good extension in front but slightly closer than ideal behind. Gold Charm just clinching the first place on her attitude and extra showmanship today. (6,0) 1st Rushwarden Gold Charm with Tidos (Mr S & Mrs S Rushton & Robson). RCC. 2nd Ch Copymear Reign On My Parade with Yorone (Mr S J Rooney). 3rd Ch Monicachi Queen of Diamonds JW (Mr L Day)

Veteran Bitch (2,0). 1st Oozora Queen of Mystery JW (Mrs S Holland-Smith). 7.5 years and a very glamorous cream lady with a confident air and sassy personality. In immaculate condition in terms of coat and body condition. She makes a super shape stood; compact in body with level top line and sickle shaped tail held high. Lovely dark eyes and domed skull. Flared ears sued to give alert expression. Moved parallel away and back with some drive in side gait too. 2nd Ch/jap Ch Go My Way Jp's Sherry Gold with Tidos (Imp Jpn) (Mrs S Robson). A very sound 8 year old who moved briskly with real drive and good extension in front. Slightly longer cast than the winner and carrying a little bit too much weight. Soft coat of good length and excellent feathering in all the right places. Domed skull with large ears not quite the flare of the winner’s ears. Eye dark and round. Good spring of rib but a little longer in loin.
