Lagotto Romagnolo

To Steve Hall and team a big thank you for your kind hospitality and judging appointment, and of course my brilliant stewards.

I would very much like to congratulate the exhibitors today for both presenting some lovely exhibits but mainly on the strength of movement on each exhibit. Overall coats were of good quality. It was good to see the sporting way you congratulated each other.

Also a big thank you for allowing my student judge to go over your dogs. This was really kind and very supportive.

1ST 2929 - Spencer Tracy (Dr K Bond)

As a sometimes when judging our wonderful dogs an exhibit is presented and judge which gives you goosebump’s when going over the exhibit and this dog certainly did this for me today. His overall appearance quite clearly respects the overall general appearance description which this exhibit excels in. He is so well balanced. His coat is clearly woolly and waterproof as a reasonably heavy shower started just at the wrong time. However when it came to watching him move I can only say it was free flowing, smooth and tireless presenting clearly a fabulous driving action. I had very little hesitation in awarding him BD, and BOB. Absolutely thrilled to see him later in day win a fabulous junior group and later win group 3 in the gundog group both under well respected judges.

2ND 2930 - Bedeslea Prada Paradoxe (Mr J, Mrs S & Mrs V Cuddy, Cuddy & Norbury) An absolute pleasure to judge this exhibit today, lost out to the winner today but very clearly a good dog his shape and overall conformation and outline is wonderful, he is so well balanced and an absolute pleasure to watch his movement.

A 2 year old male who is every bit male, good size and great overall balance, I particularly liked his head and eye, good body and ribs, excellent forechest and great moving dog. Delighted to award him rbb. Would like to see him as he matures further.

1ST 2934 - Byphar Havana Club (Mrs K & Miss C Roberts) 9 months old puppy, she displayed a female resemblance to my best dog and on looking at her breeding I can see why. Great overall balance and correct conformation. I loved her she displayed show much attitude. Pleased to award her the RBB. She will in my opinion have a very bright future.

2ND 2940 - Sikama Starlight (Miss V Wilson) not quite as forward as winner today but a wonderful example of the breed. In particular her overall balance and outline was a pleasure to see.

1ST 2935 - Havana King of The Truffles to Byphar (Mrs K & Miss C Roberts)

At 3 years old she is a pleasure to see and judge. Compact square well balanced bitch of great quality. So very pretty in head and good colour and shape. A lot to like about and so very similar to the puppy. Good neck and shoulders, great topline, good finish to croup. Moved so well in true free style, and driving action. Pleased to award her BB.

2ND 2938 - Emmroche Dancer of Sikama (Miss V Wilson)

Not quite the finish of winner but still a good quality bitch showing great strength and balance. Lots to like about her. Moved well.
