Boston Championship Show – Dogue De Bordeaux – Judge Pauline Luxmoore-Ball

Delighted to award my first set of CC’s in the breed, thrilled with both my winners and had

some fabulous, quality exhibits. Lovely sporting behaviour ringside with all decisions being

warmly applauded. Heads, generally, were healthy with clean eyes, and not so wrinkled as

they have been in the past. Majority of dogs were sound and accurate on the move.

Breeders have clearly worked very hard to get the breed in a better place.

Minor Puppy Dog 3,0

1ST 288 - Moran’s Aibrean Liam

Large puppy. Nicely constructed. Good head and expression. Good width of skull, correctly

rounded with prominent forehead and cheeks. Nicely boned. Excellent feet. Carrying a

touch too much weight at the moment. Moved okay when settled.

2ND 259 – Bailey’s Nesaluma Atomboy

Steeper fore and aft. Is a touch long in muzzle and is at the ungainly stage at the moment.

Is sound but untidy going away.

3RD 281 – Jones’s Willsanburg Zero Fox Given

Lovely puppy but just down in pastern at the moment. However, he has nice overall

balance.

Puppy Dog 1,0

1ST 288 – Moran’s Aibrean Liam

See MPD

Junior Dog 1,0

1ST 297 – Sheppard’s Parker Bernaux De Picardi at Khadeaux (Imp Pol)

Balanced but would prefer a touch more leg. Good croup, good bone. Okay in profile and

has adequate stifle. Head and expression is okay but a touch too much detail for me at the

moment. Moved okay in profile.

Yearling Dog 4,0

1ST 283 – Leonard’s Bearox Jackpot

Nice overall balance. Nice head and expression, good in shape and colour and showing no

haw. Typical movement when settled and improved handling would get more from him.

Good bone and feet. Nice croup, good stifle. Profile is okay.

2ND 287 – McGinty’s Bourgeoisie Back to Black

A touch too broad in skull but has a frank expression; hopefully the head will balance with

time. Eyes are correct. Nicely muscled, good stifle. Moved okay, just preferred the overall

picture of 1.

3RD 291 – Mott’s Bourgeoisie Chase N'status

Tends to fly his feet on the move but nicely presented and handled to advantage. Lacked

the stifle of 1&2.

Limit Dog 3,1

1ST 261 – Bamforth’s Bellamiabam Ragnar

Nice overall balance. Well-muscled. Super bone, good croup. Would prefer a touch more

stifle but his overall balance and typical movement compensated for that. Liked his head

very much. Good feet. RDCC

2ND 275 – Harrison’s Cerisier Young Guns

A touch longer in frame. Head is almost there. Good bone and feet. Nicely muscled. A

touch loose but moved with power and drive.

Open Dog 3,1

1ST 265 - Billis’s Ch Vegas V D Madroelhoeve (Imp Nld)

The head on this dog is absolutely my preference, nicely detailed with good skull and

muzzle. Great expression, with clean eyes. Overall balance is superb. Good feet. Totally

sound and supple and moved well both in profile and out and back. DCC & BOB

2ND 267 - Brunger & Rainger’s Ch Loggerheads Thor

Again, nice overall balance. Head is nicely detailed. Good for croup, muscle and bone. Not

so tidy going away as 1 but is okay in profile. Seemed to struggle a little in the heat today

Minor Puppy Bitch 3,0

All at different stages of development, and down on pasterns.

1ST 280 – Jones’s Willsanburg Ya Know Ya Know

Has a cleaner head than her kennel mate. Nicely bodied for age, good croup and moved

okay. Preferred the profile and balance of this bitch, at this stage.

2ND 279 – Jones’s Willsanburg It Is What It Is

Close up to 1, with the same comments applying. Has a good croup. More detailed head

than 1, skull needs to fill out, and movement is not so steady in profile, and out and back.

3RD 289 – Moran’s Aibrean Ojo De Oro

Puppy Bitch 3,0

1ST 269 – Cunnah’s Coppertails Just Peachy

Balanced youngster. Nice overall movement. Feminine head and expression. Head is quite

detailed, but not overdone. Good balance, bone and croup. BPIB

2ND 272 – Gaughan’s From Who I Am Kalin Red Beauty Bordeaux (Imp Nld)

A touch up on leg at the moment and finer in bone. Good feet. Clean head but refined.

Nicely muscled.

3RD 290 - Moran, Davison & Ellis’s Aibrean Big Bang NAF TAF

Still maturing but shows promise. Sound out and back.

Junior Bitch 4,1

1ST 286 – Billis’s Bellamiabam Lagertha

Better overall balance at the moment, which pulled her through. Good, clean head and eye.

Good bone, good croup. Has nice feet. Moved very well.

2ND 284 – Leonard’ Bearox Ryatt

Just lacking in forechest at the moment, which may come with time. Good croup. Nice on

the move.

3RD 260 – Bailey’s Pasya Bernaux De Picardi avec Nesaluma (Imp Pol)

A touch too much detail in head for me. Good feet and bone and is enthusiastic on the

move.

Yearling Bitch 3,1

1ST 271 – Gaughan’s Bobiso Miss Bianca

Feminine bitch with a clean head. Nice overall balance. Good feet and in good condition.

Sound and moved with purpose.

2ND 292 – Mott’s Bourgeoisie Vue Parfait

Head needs to develop as not entirely balanced at the moment. Okay for bone, and croup is

okay. Steady in profile, but could be cleaner out and back.

Post Graduate Bitch 3,1

1ST 277 – Holland’s Aibrean Legacy at Rougerocco

Has a nice enough head and expression. Flews are a touch loose. Okay for overall balance.

Well-muscled.

2ND 295 – Powell’s Bourgeoisie Bon Vivant

Head is too detailed for me. Clean eyes. Body is okay but lacks stifle. Well-muscled.

Limit Bitch 5,1

1ST 282 – Judd’s Tissie's Red Dawn

Clean head & expression. Enough detail without being overdone. But also retaining that

lovely air of femininity. Nicely muscled and okay on the move, and was tidy enough out and

back.

2ND 263 – Bamforth’s Bellamiabam’s River

Another nice bitch. Just preferred overall balance and picture of 1. She moved well with

good croup, carrying nice muscle and correct feet.

3RD 300 - Van-Heerden’s Kenzduo Raven of Maplemare

Nice overall balance, but a touch too much detail in head for me. Didn’t let herself down on

the move.

Open Bitch 6,1

1ST 298 – Strong’s Ch Cerisier Supreme of Strongzbeaux JW

Excellent head and expression. Fabulous bone and overall balance. Excelled in topline,

held both moving and in repose. Correct croup. Clean out and back and free movement in

profile. Handled to advantage, not putting a foot wrong. Delighted to award BCC & BOB.

2ND 268 – Cavanagh’s Ch Real Akragas Ananke Shimano (Imp Ita)

Another stunning bitch, straight out of the top drawer. Excelled in typical ‘dogue’ head,

feminine with lovely overall balance. Nicely bodied with correct croup. Beautiful in profile

movement. RBCC

3RD 274 - Hamblett’s Ironmastiff-Kennel Zartha

Again, another quality bitch with a lot to offer. Nice head and expression, although a touch

too much detail for me. Not moving as well on the day

Veteran Bitch 1,0

1ST 278 – Holland’s Willsanburgh's Simply The Best at Rougerocco

9yrs. Clean eyes and okay in balance. Steady on the go around and correct for bone and

substance. BVIB

Special Beginners Bitch 2,0

1ST 276 – Hixson’s Kenwone Peach Posy avec Chardanmar

Clean head and eyes. Nice make and shape with good croup. Stands over a touch more

ground than I would like. BSB
