WHIPPET CLUB OF WALES (BITCHES) 7/12/2025

Judge Pauline Oliver (Spyanfly)

Thanks go to the lovely committee members that put on this really friendly

show. There were some quality bitches here today with a few hair pulling

moments for my final decisions. Many thanks to all of the exhibitors for your

entries it was very humbling and I really do appreciate the time and effort that

you all made.

I am sure this has been mentioned before but I feel it needs to be shouted out

there and to be seriously thought about in future breedings and that is that

there have never been so many flat or nearly flat top lines since I have been in

the breed (over 40 years). Whippets need that arch over the loin for flexibility to

obtain the high speed that helps them to do what they were bred for. Let’s get

together and keep flat top lines out of our breed please!

Baby PB 4

Firstly I have to say what a total delight to have been presented with these

lovely babies. The future looks bright.

1. T.Sharp’s, Saintharp All In Good Time. Really lovely quality blue brindle and

white trim baby. Fills the eye from her ‘oh so pretty’ and correct head with neat

ears and down her long neck flowing over her curved top line. Strong and

nicely angulated in hind quarters. Again shapely in underline mirroring her top

line being curvaceous with good depth and tuck up. Smooth to go over. Moved

soundly and with cadence in profile. Best Baby Puppy In Show

2. Howgate & Hull, Mr M & MS Y, Palmik Raindrop. Much the same could be said

about this little lady as was about the first placed puppy. So much to like about

her. Pretty head and super shapely balance outline. Less mature than the

winner at the moment but sound in movement.

3. Short Mr.DG & Mrs.YL, Collooney Senorita Si Si

Pleasing size and has substance but holding her femininity. Correct head with

appealing dark pigment and strong under jaw. Good length of neck and enough

front angulation with matching hind angulation giving a balanced picture.

Excellent in length and spring of rib. Strong in hind quarters and flat bone.

Finishing with correct pasterns and feet. Sound in movement. BPBIS

2. Ryan, Mrs L Rife, To The Moon And Back An attractive headed, compact 7

month old girl . Ideal height. Long neck into smooth shoulders , ribs well sprung
