German Wirehaired Pointer Club – 14/06/25 - Judge Rhoneen Schoneville (Balvenie)

I would like to thank the Society for inviting me to judge and give thanks to the exhibitors who entered their dogs. It was a pleasure to be able to go over some quality dogs today.

German Wirehaired Pointer

Lindsey Townsend Memorial Special Puppy Dog or Bitch (1:1)

1. 18 - Mallinson & Mclaughlin Miss L & Mr A – WOODYBROOK GUY

This 11month old puppy dog is still very raw with some developing to do. He has a well proportioned head with a masculine appearance and good coverage. Neck of good length and well muscled, falling into well placed shoulders. Front angulation still a little narrow with his chest yet to develop. Good overall length with good rear angulation, hocks straight. Well off for coat and bone. Movement was ok but still not together yet. Interested to watch this youngster mature on.

John Sheridan Memorial Special Post Graduate Dog or Bitch (3:2)

1. 15 – Kearns Miss B - RUDISHAW WALTZING MATILDA

Appealing feminine head on this nearly 4 year old bitch, with a correct eye colour and adequate furnishing. A good reach of neck with a good forechest. Front angulation good. Ribs nicely sprung and reaching well back. Stifles nicely bent with good muscle. A fast mover with plenty of enthusiasm. Good reach and drive.

2. 8 – Geary Mrs A - BECKA DREAMS OF LITTLE PRINCE AT GERMANUS (Imp Hun)

This 1 year old bitch was lacking coat today. A pretty feminine face with a soft expression and good furnishing for her age. Straight front with neat feet. Chest still to develop. Good front angles but I preferred the forechest of dog number 1. Seemed a little unsettled in the ring. Movement ok from a profile view, moving a little close behind today compared to the winner of the class.

Marion McAngus Memorial Special Open Dog or Bitch (14:8)

An excellent class with some really lovely exhibits.

1. 25 – O’Brian Mr A, Mrs D & Miss K - CALDEWRIVER COLD AS ICE

A balanced masculine almost 3 year old dog with a lovely topline which was held nicely on the move. Head balanced with good furnishing and an alert expression. Straight front with strong bone. Angulation good throughout with depth of chest and spring of rib. Presented in good condition with lovely, toned muscle. Great coat, harsh with dense undercoat, giving plenty of cover. Movement did not disappoint and was true with purpose, reach and drive. Great ring presence from this dog today.

2. 20 - McCullough Mr P F & Mrs M - SH CH KIMMAX KINDLY STAND BACK

Another eye catching exhibit. This 5 year old bitch oozes femininity with a gentle expression, however looking powerful and well muscled. Good angulation throughout. Coat of correct texture with harsh undercoat. Good strong stifles, well bent with good width and muscle tone. Moved with reach and drive carrying herself well around the ring. It was a close call today for first place but I just preferred the movement of the first dog on the day.

3. 24 – O’Brian Miss K A - SH CH CALDEWRIVER STORM IN A TEACUP FOR KATILLIEN JW
