West Country Chihuahua Club – Smooth Coat Chihuahuas: 23/11/25

Thank you to the committee for their invitation to judge at this show, which has long been a favourite of mine, and to the exhibitors for their entries and good-natured acceptance of my decisions, I had some lovely dogs to go over on the day. A special mention must go also to David Milton for looking after us judges so well before and after judging.

1st - Hornby’s Bramerita Churchill: What a beautiful boy this is. Cream sable with mask, he has a beautifully shaped head with large flaring ears and a lovely outline, held together with surprising poise for such a young puppy. He handles himself with supreme confidence and clearly enjoyed being in the ring. Pleased to see him also take BBPIS.

2nd - Crew’s Ballerina Crazy Passion: Tri-colour girl with a lovely mouth, beautiful straight topline and a pleasing head. Less confident than the winner but shows promise.

Minor Puppy Dog 4 (2)

Strong and muscular, well-proportioned and lacking any exaggeration, he has a straight topline, correct tail set and carriage, good turn of stifle and lovely straight front. His excellent construction shows in his movement, which is surefooted and smooth, driving forward with power, tracking parallel front & rear and holding his smart outline at all times. Presented in excellent condition and on top form he never stopped showing and earned himself the Dog CC.

Champion Dog 2 (0)

1st - Hornby & Kriuchkova’s AKC Grand Grand Ch Eng & Esp Multi Superiority Complex S Lipetskih Ozer: At first glance my reaction was that this boy is stronger in the head than I personally prefer, but absolutely nothing can take away from his excellent construction and movement, and he commands your attention as soon as you see him on the go. Compact and muscular, he has a spirit-level topline, straight front with well-laid shoulders, well angulated rear and a thickly furred tail set well and carried up and over. On the stand he is alert and balanced, on the move he powers around the ring and is a pleasure to watch.

2nd - Halls’ Ch Jorazan Quincy Quirky Sox JW: This dainty cream boy presents a very pleasing picture, and you can easily see why he’s done the winning he has. A lovely head, refined in shape with tapered muzzle, large well-set ears, defined dome and huge, expressive eyes. He has a lovely outline, level in back with nicely constructed front and rear and he shows well, he just wasn’t moving as freely as his competitor today.

Minor Puppy Bitch 3 (0)

1st - Hicks’ Legado De Lagos Microsoft at Casiatodo (IMP ESP): Very pretty gold & white with a strong head, a saucy expression and a temperament to match. Pleasing in outline, with good topline, straight front and well angulated rear, she moves and shows with impressive confidence for a baby.

2nd - Murray’s Davixity The Evangelist: Another pretty gold & white girl, with lovely dark pigment and large dark eyes, large flaring ears and a good mouth. She is well constructed and moves freely around the ring, she needs to grow a little in confidence as she matures but there’s already a lot to like here.

3rd - Hartley & Fahey’s Zoomera Stormcloud

Puppy Bitch 2 (0)

1st - Hicks’ Legado De Lagos Ice Ice Baby at Casiatodo (IMP ESP): This beautiful gold & white parti-colour girl was absolutely one of my stars of the day. Litter sister to the MPB winner, she is a touch more refined in head, with large, expressive eyes, large well-set ears and a strong dome and defined stop leading to the correct moderately short, slightly tapered muzzle and lean cheeks called for in the standard, finished off with good dentition. She has a beautiful straight front, level back and good rear construction, borne out in her movement, which is balanced, elegant and true from all angles. In my opinion she is one to watch and I was pleased to award her BPB & BPIB.

2nd - Wells’ Dollybeau’s Adorabubble: Dainty white, slightly longer cast. Nice dark pigment, good rear angulation, she showed happily and was very attentive to her handler.

Junior Bitch 6 (2)

1st - Barker’s Baralicia Mini Maestro: A lovely sable girl, compact and delicate with a very pretty headpiece. She has a good front and rear assembly, nice level topline, and holds a very pleasing outline on the stand. On the move she is surefooted and smooth and shows herself off extremely well.

2nd - Hunt’s Moltobello Miss Moonstone: Sired by my RCC winner and you can see the similarities immediately. A pretty pale red & white with a lovely headpiece and a good mouth, slightly longer in body than 1 but with a good reach of neck, nice straight front and smart outline, and once she settled she displayed swift and accurate movement.

3rd - Hicks’ Legado De Lagos La Fama at Casiatodo (IMP ESP)

Novice Bitch 4 (2)

1st - Brackstone’s Rafmor Pure In Heart per Picklesbury: Cream girl with large, well-set ears and an excellent mouth. Pleasingly straight front and rear with a good reach of neck, she won the class on her smooth movement.

2nd - Jones’ Peeptolynn Tea Black: Compact black & cream with a very pretty head and expression, straight front and level back. She showed well for her handler.

Graduate Bitch 2 (0)

1st - Halls’ Jorazan Talia Toffifi Sox: Self-pigmented red fawn & white with a lovely mouth. Compact body with a straight front, good rear angulation and displaying good movement across the ring.

2nd - Jones’ Peeptolynn Tea Maid: Cream girl with a good mouth and pleasing expression, but who was a little nervous today and so didn’t show to her best advantage.

Post Graduate Bitch 2 (1)

1st - Jones’ Pretty Posie by Peeptolynn: Tri colour girl who was absolutely delightful to watch because she was, quite simply, having the time of her life. A well-shaped head with a lovely expression, a nice front and pleasing outline, and once she stopped dancing on her hind legs she moved very well.

Limit Bitch 6 (2)

1st Hunt’s Moltobello Queen of Thrones: Compact & dainty cream with beautiful large, expressive eyes. She’s showy and surefooted, moving well around the ring with a smart outline, level back and correct tail carriage maintained at all times, very pleasing to watch.

2nd - Hartley & Fahey’s Zoomera West End Girl: Very pretty girl, quite an unusual mink red colour which is very eye-catching. Another who is compact and dainty with a large eye, she is an accurate and swift mover and holds a good outline both standing and on the move.

3rd - Steel’s Darnley Happy Feet

Open Bitch 6 (1)

1st - Fothergill’s Ch Diamonchi Miss Beautiful JW: This little lady certainly embodies her name. Dainty and well built, with a lovely arched neck, level back and neatly constructed front and rear, she presents a lovely picture on the stand, all four feet squarely placed and tail held up and over. On the move she covers the ground with drive, holding her outline and moving parallel coming and going. She has a beautiful head with a gorgeous expression, large dark eyes and flaring ears set on a domed skull, with tapered muzzle and good dentition. She would have been a strong contender for higher honours but unfortunately she lost her drive during the challenge.

2nd - Fathers’ Gestavo Party Lines with Okajem: Another nicely constructed girl, a very pretty cream with a nicely shaped head and well-set ears used to advantage. She has a straight topline, nicely angulated rear and good front. On the go she moved briskly and freely around the ring, holding herself well.

3rd - Dodd’s Mikichi Diamond Marquise

Veteran Bitch 4 (0)

1st - Dodd’s Jikara Strike A Blow: Fine-boned cream with a refined head, large dark eyes and a slightly upturned nose. She has a level back and good tail set, nicely placed feet front and rear and she moved and showed well.

2nd - Hunt’s Zoya’s Kingdom never fails for Moltobello JW: A pretty white girl who is solidly constructed with everything in the right place, when she could be persuaded to go she showed off a lovely flowing movement, however she clearly wasn’t in the mood for our nonsense on the day and preferred not to do too much.

3rd - Brackstone’s Tinamyrose Tinas Gem avec Picklesbury

Champion Bitch 3 (1)

1st - Fothergill’s Ch Diamonchi Miss Sparkel JW: A small class this, but full of quality. In at number one was this absolutely outstanding cream lady. Refined in every way, dainty and compact with a lovely straight front, well laid shoulders, good reach of neck and a spirit-level topline, well-set tail and strong, well-shaped hindquarters. Her head is spot on, not overdone in any way with the correct apple dome, defined stop and moderately short muzzle with lean cheeks and excellent dentition. Her dark pigment sets off her beautiful expression with large, expressive eyes and flaring ears in constant use. She stands foursquare, all four feet perfectly placed, and on the move she flies around the ring, surefooted and supremely elegant, holding herself perfectly at all times. I was delighted to award her the BCC and later BOB, and pleased to see her go on to take RBIS.

2nd - Hornby’s Ch Bramerita Posh Totty: A beautiful pale red, animated and full of character. She has a strong head, nicely domed with well-placed ears, moderately short muzzle, large eyes and a delightful saucy expression. Dainty but muscular, with a level back and nicely constructed front and hindquarters she moves like a little powerhouse, swift and beautifully parallel coming and going, driving well from front and rear without any imbalance or exaggeration in her gait. On the stand she is balanced and poised, showing off a lovely silhouette but never losing that energy which draws your attention from across the ring. A worthy winner of the RCC and RBOB.
